A lot of practical features for a low price. It's got a built in shroud, 3 way adjustable trigger, adjustable comb and pad and a combination Weaver/11mm scope rail. It's the most powerful springer you can buy. I bought mine about 6 years ago and I fired it over the chrony a couple weeks ago and got velocities averaging right around 550 fps with 44.75 JSB Exacts or right around 30 fpe. It's also surprisingly "un-hold sensitive" for such a powerful spring gun. I used to own a Beeman Kodiak and that was much more difficult to shoot accurately.

The screws that Hatsan uses are of low quality. I've had the Phillips slots simply break off when disassembling it. While the Quattro trigger isn't bad, it's no Rekord either. If you wiggle it you'll notice it's got a lot of slop and appears to be made out of pot metal. You can adjust it to get a pretty good trigger pull, but it's not a high quality trigger.

I've seen people online praising the beautiful Turkish walnut stock, which only makes me feel they've never actually seen a nice piece of wood. The stock is actually quite good, but it's not beautiful. If there's any grain or pattern to the wood you'd never know since it's covered up by some sort of dark stain/shellac like you'd find on a cheap Chinese gun. Having said that however it does have nice checkering and a adjustable comb and pad. It's a very good, practical stock, but it's not pretty. Cocking effort is very heavy. I'm a big guy and used to bench over 300 lbs when I was younger, so it's not a problem for me, but I'm guessing that a lot of women and teens would be unable to cock this rifle. It's also a big, heavy rifle. Scoped, I'm guessing it's 10+ lbs. It's not a light, handy little carbine. Overall, this is a rifle that was built to a price point, but it was designed extremely well for that price point and I'd buy it again.

Factory corrected rail, my dovetail/Weaver mount is inline with barrel! Nicely finished both metal & wood. Cleaned barrel, VERY DIRTY!!! Rifle shoots 1" groups at 25 yards with fiber optic sights. Heavy rifle but balanced, weight softens recoil somewhat. Fiber optic sight really lights up in very little light, making it a good rifle to shoot early morning or late evening. I will use these sights as I have a coyote problem, and they never stop moving for a good scope shot. With the open sights I can follow their movement on either side of barrel. QE baffles do help in noise abatement, but I chose another option which was better for me. Simple "drop in" replacement that reduced noise level another 5db.

A better scope mount. Picatinny instead of Weaver, back towards shooters eye more, and scope stop holes in rail!!! Better baffle system although I understand the "One size fits all" approach of a company. QE barrel shrouds are on a lot of Hatsan's, PCP as well as break barrel. Not a fan of automatic safety's, but considering how hard this gun is to cock, maybe a good thing?

I am shooting JSB EXACT .30 Diabolo 44.75gr pellets. Currently I see a 6" drop between 19 yards and 25 yards! I am shooting offhand with an arm supported by a doorway. Will get the Chrony out in a day or so & see what I'm getting in FPS. I set it up to shoot 1" high at 20 yards (like my .25 break barrel), expecting it to be dead on at 25 yards. 6" difference is hard to compensate for in any sight! When Spring finally decides to show up here, I will sandbag shoot the rifle 20, 25, 40, and 100 yards to get some ballistic info.

I liked the wood furniture and overall look of the gun but with both the gun I got there were a fair amount of blemishes on the metal finish. I had problems with the first one I got with the shroud not being centered over the barrel and the second one having the shroud nut glued in upside down so I couldn't take the shroud off to check the barrel so I ended up refunding it. Couldn't say much about the accuracy since the first one shotgunned from the shroud problem and I never even fired the second one. For the price it seems like a good deal if you can wait in replacement limbo to get a good one that slipped through hatsan qa.

Better qa on hatsans end all things considered. hearing from others in forums they've started cutting corners on a lot of things as the internals in my guns could not compare to the quality I saw in older runs of the gun, I've heard hatsans pcp are still top notch for the price though they've just steered away from springers. Nothing to do with pyramyd they seem to value customers quite a bit and gave me no trouble in my replacing and eventual refund.

Pyramyd air is fantastic to buy from and helped me through all my problems even though I ended up refunding. Still ended up buying other guns, parts, and ammo and it's been great on all other accounts.

Bought this model in 2019, Three year later the gas piston has failed , Have less than 300 rounds thru it disappointing

The gun is right on up to 50 yds. But the rear sight is all the way to right with no more agustment. Some thing everyone talk about on the net. I throuh hatsan would have taken care of but did not.

Great looking rifle,good open sights. First air rifle /break barrel or other. Pretty accurate right out of box. Really quiet

The scope mount needs to extend back farther just an inch. Or make stock adjustable. Or adjust hold so you can get the eye relief you need.

I'm not a bench shooter, I shoot action 2 gun not bragging but above average at 60 plus. Most bad reviews my experience comes with shooters that don't want to adjust the way they shoot to take advantage of different weapons pos and neg. You can purchase a 10/22 for less money and do the same but it won't be quiet, challenging, the trigger isn't as good recoil is totally different. This makes this rifle throughly fun to shoot.

The adjustable trigger pull is very stiff when adjusted as light as possible So far the accuracy seems a little sporadic

The amount of force to cock this should not be overlooked

Hatsan quality control on the gas spring

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I bought one of these from Pyramid Air and the nitro spring broke shortly after purchase... Rendering it useless. It cost me $150 to ship it back to get it repaired. So now, it cost me as much as a cheap AR-15. I hardly use it, mostly to keep up target practice, so every 6 months or so, it's NEVER stored charged, under pressure. Went to go use it again for the first time in awhile.. and NO SPRING AGAIN! SAME PROBLEM! At this point I'm FURIOUS. Think I'll throw it in the burn pile this gun and the company make absolute GARBAGE. First and last Hatsan I ever purchase. And first and last NITRO piston gun I ever purchase as well. After 2 times I know it wasn't a defect. It's just an over priced POOR QUALITY piece of JUNK. Stick with real guns or normally sprung pellet rifles.

This is a big boy air rifle, it's heavy and solid, shoots very hard and so far is very accurate. It loves jsb 25.39 gr and shoots the target trophy 20.6 gr pellets at 780. Great, beast of a gun

It is heavy, but that helps tame the recoil when rested.

On 2-1 -22 I ordered a Hatsan, model 135, in .25 caliber, The wood stock is a work of art to my eyes, looking down the barrel, the blueing was a tad bit sloppy, some areas a bit darker than others, but this did not bother me a bit, all of my other Hatsan air rifles were perfectly blued, I put 350 rounds of jsb Exact king Diabolo through it to break in the barrel, and sight in my open sights., The next 2 times I shot it, I mounted my 2x16x 44--30 mm scope I had already, and, by the time I got near the end of shooting a 200 round tin of jsb Hornets in 22.07 grains, sighting it in along the way to the end contents of the tin of 150 rounds, This rifle,at 27 yards was shooting in a 1 inch targ dot very well, with my 65 year old eyes., Sure, this rifle is heavy, but I don't mind a bit. after shooting heavy muzzleloaders for 34 years or so. Quality is there everybody.

Nothing , Over all an excellent product, and highly recommend by myself, You'll get some stronger muscles when you use theese guns awhile.

I love the power. 30 foot pounds of energy. It shoots the H&N 23 grain .25 caliber hornet pellets at about 750 feel per second. I love the size of it. It fits snugly in a 48 inch Plano hard plastic rifle case. I love how it shoulders and I love the sights on it

I wish it didnt take 2 hands to cock it but its so worth the 50 pound cocking effort to get all the power

Definitely use the hornet pellets with this gun. Also be prepared to use 2 hands to cock it. Plus Ive already fired 13 shots out of it and Im still working on sighting it in from 20 yards distance away using open sights. Plus you really need to hold it tight. Also use a mini Phillips head screw driver when tightening the screws because the slots are very small

I have this 135 in both .22 and .25 caliber. Thinking of getting the .30. This is a solid, accurate, hard hitting, beautiful airgun. That being said I am a airgun tinkerer. I have super tuned both these guns. Totally dismantled, cleaned and polished all internals. Went through the trigger cleaning, deburring and polishing. The Vortex piston did fail on the .22 after the warranty but Hatsan got me one out very quickly for around $40. No problem. Drop it in and good to go. There are drop in spring kits out there if the Vortex isn't for you. I prefer a spring over a gas piston and will change over if the Vortex continues to be problematic. This is my 5th Vortex Hatsan and after 7 years only one failure. The Turkish Walnut stock is beautiful. I own many Weihrauch airguns. This is not one. If Weihrauch made this as it is with Turkish Walnut one would need to get a second mortgage. I think they are a bargain.

Not a fan of the sling swivel. Seems a bit light duty for a rifle this large. The safety has a lot of side to side slop. Easy fix with shim washers. I have never been a fan of the gold colored advertisement of features all over the receiver. Just stamp the model in the steel like the old days.

REGARDING COCKING EFFORT. So much talk about how much of a beast this is to cock. Almost scared me from getting one. FYI: I am a 65 year old grandpa that has been shooting airguns for the past 40+ years. Maybe and probably have the cocking routine down pat but I find both my .22 and .25 135 a firm one hand cocking effort. I can cock and shoot all afternoon long sitting in a chair with one hand holding the stock and the cocking the gun. I simply tap the barrel end to break the action, then in one firm smooth motion, just cock the gun. It is a large long rifle and affords a lot of leverage.

the power and even then its not that good, the gamo magnum in .22 caliber shooys faster and retains more fpe at range, maybe i got a lemon, 650 fps with 20 grain pellets, go figure

improve quality control and checks my gun arrived half broken as well as smothered in oil and after MAYBE a 1000 shots i cant get it to group at all with any ammo. artillery hold and many other holds have confirmed this suspition

i bought this gun waaaaaaaaay back but never left a review, i was a kid and i was too excited and never sent it back but now a bity older i shoulkd have sent that hunk o junk back, dont buy from hatsan, spend a little more money and go for a company that cares about what they put out

sights are set pretty far away. It is a Beast to load ! could also be lighter.

A .30 break barrel, you say? Who would need such a thing? I suppose the short answer to that is that you really don't. If we are chasing after foot pounds of energy for hunting, and want something in a larger caliber than .22, you'll get more of THAT out of a PCP in .25, for example. Pellet selection is somewhat limited in .30 as well. When I purchased mine a few weeks ago, I could only find 2 pellets that were in stock among a half-dozen suppliers. Fortunately, the rifle does not appear to be very pellet picky. This is a gorgeous, well-appointed rifle. It is a pleasure to shoot once you get it cocked. It is extremely quiet for artillery, and the recoil is gentle. Hatsan does a nice job with triggers. The Picatinny rail allows far more secure mounting for optics than the pathetic 11mm rail often found.

It is a workout to cock. Shoot 10 rounds in rapid succession, and you know you've done a job. It is heavy. The weight is both a bane and a bonus. While the rifle is heavy, it is docile, and will easily punch 5 school-bus sized holes in a group the size of a nickel at 20 yards. The velocity is low. You can practically watch the pellet make its way to the target.

If you are going to use this for hunting -- and there is really no other purpose for such a cannon -- you are still limited to the type of game that you could take with a higher velocity .22. In windy conditions, the .30 is likely to be superior. It is also likely to be superior in conditions where there is grass or light brush in the target area, as the heavier pellet is less likely to be deflected. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you'll do much plinking with this. Compared to .22 and .177, .30 ammunition comes at a premium, and most shooters simply won't want to invest the energy in cycling the beast.

I really wanted to like the gun. Decent finish, dead accurate (when things don't start going loose on you), amazingly powerful gas piston gun that should be awesome. Unfortunately just not executed to the caliber that I would hope for a $300 gas gun.

The main break barrel pin, used to fix the break in place and prevent wobble and ensure decent indexing at the break, kept loosening every 100 or so pellets. Even with decent thread locking, the vibrations throughout the gun were simply too much for the specified screw/fastener configuration. The screws were also made out of very mild steel, and appeared to show signs of wear right out of the box. There was too much tinkering that would have to be involved to make this gun something reliable (which in my opinion is the whole point of a gas gun, to just keep shooting). Decided to return it because I think having to tear apart and re-spec fasteners before shooting through a tin is a bit much to ask for.

I really wanted to like the gun. When everything was tight and reliable, it was awesome, powerful, a real feat. Unfortunately the quality of engineering was just not there, and not something I wanted to spend my time tinkering with in order to get working. I wish Weirauch would revamp their HW97k to keep up with the power of this gun, that thing would be truly impressive.

I "holds" offhand better than any of my other air guns (due to its weight I am sure). It has a long "pull" which works well for me. The trigger is great right out of the box.

I do not know about "change" but Pyramid Air should supply a stunningly attractive female weightlifter to cock it for me (I'm 73).

Mine is a .25 and I have a pellet trap (measured 54 feet - silhouette ram distance) with a three inch round swinger made out of mild steel, 1/4 inch plate. A hit on the edge actually bends the plate. it seems to be accurate with any of the six types of pellets I have (all lead, all mid-weight). Better be eating your Wheaties or have a lot of hair on your back if you buy one of these. I own a Ruger Number One in 450/400 that weighs less. My model (135 QE) does not seem to change impact or grouping with different holds. I still hold it in my hand and place my hand on the forward bag when I shoot it off the bench; nor do I place the buttstock on a bag as well. I have found this to be true with most of my air guns, place them directly on a hard bag and you invariably get inconsistent grouping (vertical stringing - for me anyway). This is simply a well made, accurate tool. (so is a sledgehammer) I really like this rifle,

reat air rifle - but piston failed Bought the 135 EQ .30 cal about 3 years ago. Loved it. But a month ago - the nitro piston failed with less than 500 pellets through it. Out of warranty, I sent it to Hatsan USA. Got a quick response. They said that the most common reason a nitro piston fails is because if you store it muzzle up - like in a gun rack - piston cup oil will leak down the piston rod and soften or weaken the piston bladder - causing it to fail. I had never heard of that before. So be aware ! Store it on its side or other end up.
