Things I liked:

Accurate, smooth action, holds well, decent finish.

Things I would have changed:

Reliability, add a silencer for backyard shooting like the Diana Chaser has.

What others should know:

Unreliable, works just fine one day, sits for a few hours and suddenly expends all air upon the first shot on a new CO2 cylinder. I never left this gun loaded or with a CO2 cylinder in the air chamber, put a drop of oil on the end of the cylinder every few shooting sessions to keep the seals in good shape, but picked it up this morning after shooting through 3 cylinders yesterday and it expended all the air on the first shot, same result with 2 more cylinders, just put a new scope on it, so now suddenly I've got a boat anchor. Would not recommend the gun as it cant be relied upon to work for a very long time.

    Things I liked:

I have to say I can't describe how perfect this rifle fits my body. The bolt throw is smooth, the trigger is crip. There isn't a huge fiberoptic dot on the front sight. Just a perfect single shot target rifle. With a silky smooth stock, and crip iron sights. Out of the box this rifle is dead on accurate. I can hold dime sized 5rd groups easily at 10 yards. (My personal range is small)

    Things I would have changed:

-The trigger is plastic... (cold climate concern) -Loading a CO2 capsule is tedious. -A magazine or faster way to load pellets -The rifle feels and handles like so many Crosman rifles except the safety is behind the trigger. (This trips me up every time.) -the stock will move (forward or back) from the action when the bolt is cycled. (I may bed the action to the stock to prevent this.)

    What others should know:

This rifle is awesome, and well made. It is endless fun to shoot targets.

    Things I liked:

I did not have any problem using the order form on the internet. I received my gun in perfect order and on time. I ordered a Sheridan 2260MB, in 22cal.,CO2 powered. I had read the previews and did a real good job of cleaning the barrel. I also had read that the rear sight was cheep. But my first 3 shots were touching the red bulls eye and after about 20 shots a day for a week or so, a total of about 80 , the CO2 is still the first I put in. The rear sight is just that, a cheep good working sight I would not change because it works.

    Things I would have changed:

Everything is fine , the stock is as well done as I have ever seen on an air gun.

    What others should know:

Well worth the money. I did pay for the "10 for 10" test and the one year extended warraty. It still had the old time quality of Sheridan.

    Things I liked:

o Lightweight o Great handling o Very Accurate o Exceptional iron sights o Beautiful wood stock

    Things I would have changed:

Change nothing, but I'd love to see Sheridan add some things: another CO2 cartridge, so I could use two for more shooting or one full cartridge and one empty when time is short. Also, add to the rifle as delivered the capability to utilize multi-pellet magazines, with one included and more available.

    What others should know:

What a wonderful air rifle! The Sheridan 2260MB is lightweight, well-balanced, handles very nicely and is exceptionally easy to shoot. It sounds a bit corny, but It feels natural and 'right' in my hands. The built-in sights are some of the best I've seen on any type of rifle and I really like them: aiming is easy and the rifle (perfectly sighted in on arrival) is extremely accurate. Even the single-cartridge CO2 system works great and I was surprised to find there's practically no wasted gas when it stops shooting, typically after ~30 shots or so, although the last few often either fail to completely penetrate or they bounce back from the targets pasted on the front of my multi-sheet, cardboard pellet traps. The wood stock has a somewhat unusual and interesting shape and is finished very well, so on top of everything else it's also easy on the eyes. It's absolutely one of my favorites in a collection of eight, including four .177 and three other .22 caliber and I recommend it highly.

    Things I liked:

2260MB has a Steel Breech with a REAR Breech Screw that means the breech screw doesn't interfere, and Damage the pellet shirt when racking the bolt and pushing a Pellet into the breech. Light weight, pretty accurate out of the Box But Has a Lot More potential for Much better accuracy. Good Gun for the Money, this Gun can be changed to the Owners desire. Love the Wood Stock.

    Things I would have changed:

During assembly the Barrel Band was Mis adjusted, Both the Top and the Bottom screws were Way To Tight on the barrel Band, The bottom screw should be remove and two set screws above the c02 tube to keep the up as high as possible, this will straighten the barrel spacing. The Top screw also to provide Proper spacing between Barrel and CO2 tube was Not consistent, barrel was much Lower where the barrel band mounts due to this mis adjustment/mounting. Trigger Can be really good and Much Lighter pull weight this increases Accuracy, two screws can be added to the trigger and a little smoothing here and there to turn the trigger into a Really Nice Light Much Smoother and shorter trigger Pull.

    What others should know:

I have a Tapco for a Ruger 10/22 Earth colored Stock, This is a Tactical looking stock it has a Rail under the front of the barrel, and a 5 position adjustable Length of Pull Butte stock, The 2260MB slides down almost all the way into the stock, a little bit of grinding on the stock and it should be a good fit, 2260mb feels good in that stock. I added a Gravmags 10 shot Gravity Fed Magazine to my 2260MB so i can load 10 shots, and shoot 10 shots as Fast as i can Rack the Bolt and pull the trigger, Nice Not to feed only one Pellet at a time. This has become a GOOD Pest rifle now with the 10 shot Magazine it provides a Fast follow up shot, add a TKO and it is Quiet enough.

    Things I liked:

I have always wanted a 2260MB, Pros: Liked size of rifle, wood stock, CONs This Gun Has some Problems, and Pyramyd Air ALSO had some PROBLEMS as their 10 shots for $10, was a Big Problem, My 10 for $10 shot tape says shot 1, FPS at 427 fps, shot 10 was at 442fps so this gun is Shooting Very Slow fps as they did NOT use the Heavier pellet as, the 10 for $10 SHOT CARD says weight of pellet was MIS marked as a .177 cal at 7 grn this is wrong, as the 2260MB ONLY shoots .22 cal. the Hobby pellet in 22 cal is approx a 13.89 grn so at 430 to 440 fps it is VERY SLOW so a problem there. Trigger Very stiff at 2nd stage.

    Things I would have changed:

Problems with my 2260MB out of the box. Barrel Band bottom mounting bolt is tightened down to max. this causes the Barrel END to get PULLED down and shoot LOW, this can be seen by looking at the SPACING between the Barrel and the CO2/air Tube, when looking at up by the breech the spacing is Much Wider then it is nearer the Muzzle end. i took out the barrel band bolt and the barrel spacing was corrected , i will buy a Barrel Spacer from crosman 2260 to add to this sheridan version that doesnt have the barrel spacer. Black Painted Barrel (Not Bluing) has Many scratches, sharpe covers it, Sights are terrible,

    What others should know:

I bought GravMags Front and Rear Sights Front is a TruGlo Green fiber optic that provides a Very STURDY mount, and Rear sight is Dovetail Mounted and adjust for both windage and Elevation, I also Bought GravMags 10 shot Gravity Fed Magazine that mounts directly to the Dovetail mounts in the Breech. This provides a 10 shot magazine that is Very easy to load even with a scope mounted. I bought the 10 shots for $10 This provided a Glimpse into my gun, Looking at the description, "Using an 18.2-grain lead pellet, our tech department achieved 515 f.p.s. After settling down, our test gun consistently shot 500 f.p.s. with this heavier ammo and had a standard deviation of only 5 f.p.s. Very few guns have such a low standard deviation. my 10 for $10 shot tape says shot 1 FPS at 427 fps, shot 10 was at 442fps so this gun is Shooting Very Slow fps as they did NOT use the Heavier pellet as the weight of pellet was MIS marked as a .177 cal at 7 grn this is wrong,as the 2260MB ONLY shoots .22 cal.

Very accurate, plenty of power to take care of nuisance squirrels inside of 25 yards. Stacks cphps in one hole at 20 yards.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is horrible. Fortunately lots of after market options to choose from. I really dislike the plastic trigger and trigger guard, but you can't have it all for 150.

    Things I liked:

The 2260MB is a great platform airgun. In pure stock form it shoots great, but it also has lots of potential for add-ons and upgrades. As part of the 2240/50/60 program, it is definitely their best offering. The metal breech is the most important upgrade over the base model.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing I would like to come differently from the factory is the trigger group - it would be much better if it were all metal. The parts that really have to be are metal, but a metal trigger and trigger guard would be really nice. Fortunately those items are available from third parties - it's a platform, so build on it!

    What others should know:

I like it so much that I ordered a second one, just yesterday. I'll keep one stock (or nearly stock) and the other will get all the mods.

    Things I liked:

Fairly Robust Little Gun. Like any Crosman. The more you shoot it, the better it shoots! To you parents out there. You buy your kids one of these? I can guarantee. They'll be so loyal to you, they may never move out!

    Things I would have changed:

The Chocolate Brown stock finish. The Barrel Band which forces the Barrel towards the Main Tube. Crosman should design a better, more adjustable Barrel Band to eliminate stress on the Barrel. A previous review described how to somewhat relieve the stress off the Barrel.

    What others should know:

Previous review I described shimming the Barrel Band to take any stress off the Barrel. Removed the rear notch sight and added a Ruger Mini 14 flip up rear peep sight. Filed a brass shim to the same contour and tapped them into the Steel breech dovetail slot. Fits nice and tight. (Costs 1/5 of what a Williams peep sight does). Removed the font sight by heating it with a hairdryer. Tapped it off. Drilled it through with a 7/16 bit, reheated again and tapped in on with the Crosman Moderator adapter till it seated. Tightened the Grub Screw and Screwed on my Donny fl Tanto. (Front sight cleard). Put a bead of glow in the dark acrylic paint on top of the front sight blade. Topped off with a Simmons 4 x 32 scope and the Gravmag .22 compact. The Forecast is for 70 deg. here in a few days so I can go outdoors and Zero it in and then see what kind of results I get for fps and accuracy. Shoot Safe Everyone!

    Things I liked:

To be honest? I bought this old school looking gun to pacify me while I waited for my preordered 2240XL to get back in stock. Out of the box: Other than the Poopie brown stock finish? Looked pretty clean and pristine. The trigger action was just fine!

    Things I would have changed:

OK! With any new gun: I always run a few cleaning patches down the barrel and then put a light in the breech to check how straight the Bore is. And... Sure as You know what! Like other reviewers stated. The Barrel is stressed downward beginning where that stupid notch is, hidden under the rear sight. Now! All these years of Crosmans engineering: Why they have not added another grub screw to the upper part of the Barrel Band where the Main Tube goes through to keep from over stressing the Barrel is beyond logic!

    What others should know:

Ok fellow review readers! I can tell you with 100% honesty and being a Crosman fanatic for 42 years now! These Crosmans are more than capable, no matter what the barrel length is, of stacking pellets at 30 feet and beyond. Until Crosman comes up with a dual acting adjustable Barrel Band that won't smash the Barrel and Main Tube toward each other, This is what I do to all my C. guns with profound results. Takes me about half an hour. With a difficulty rating of 1-10, this is a minus 5. I let the Steel Breech take the load. Loosen the bottom Barrel Band grub screw all the way and shim that gap on top of the Main Tube. I used the cover of my favorite Walmart Mini Cinnamon rolls, .020"thick. I cut a strip 1/4 length of the circumference of the Main Tube and .032" less than the width of the Barrel Band. Slide it in. Snug the Grub. Don't tighten the hell out of it! You will kink the Main Tube like Crosman did. Yours may need more shims hopefully less. Stabilize it don't stress it! Enjoy!

    Things I liked:

Lightweight, accurate, American company. I had wanted one of these years ago and found out they were discontinued. So I ended up buying a QB78 instead. And as much as I like my QB I still wanted the "rifle" version of my Crosman Backpacker guns. I was very happy to see them offered again. Mounted up a 4x scope and groups were very good once I got it zeroed. At 25 yards they were averaging about 1/2" with the Crosman 14.3 HP. And the Crosman 18gr pellets were going into one hole.

    Things I would have changed:

The stock finish was much darker than the pictures. I see the PA changed the pics to match their current inventory. No big deal, and not their fault. Crosman/Sheridan should have stuck with the walnut stain. Also, the metal finish on the exterior of the barrel and tube is much rougher than my older Crosmans. As in you will leave DNA if you rub your finger across it. This again is a minor cosmetic gripe and doesn't affect function or my overall opinion of the product.

    What others should know:

As others have stated, the rear sight is an afterthought. You should plan on mounting a scope right away.

    Things I liked:

Steel breech, nickel bolt and handle, decent accuracy, and good power. Shot 553 fps out of the box at 68F. 608 fps after I warmed up the rifle next to a small heater to simulate a summer day. This was with 14.3 cphp. Just under 12 ft/lbs.

    Things I would have changed:

The finish on the stock is god awful. You can't see the grain at all without a light over it, its gritty and almost textured. The gas tube is ground really course and the sights are meh... Crosman quality is starting to slip I guess. This stock is basically a discovery stock without the air guage hole. My disco stock was pretty when I got it, this is fully. I will definitely refinish it.

    What others should know:

I expected the "Sheridan" line of the 2260 to be better quality. It almost seems like crosman is throwing these together now just to make a sale since they discontinued the original 2260 AND disco. Get rid of surplus parts I guess. The trigger is still crappy plastic and heavy, I change all mine out. Huge difference. But... the caveat. I purchased this rifle solely for the stock, breech, and a few of the small parts. Planned on refinishing the stock anyhow. Im making another pcp rifle out of these parts with a different 2260 tube. These new tubes aren't thick enough after the machined finish to hold the 3000 psi I use to fill them. DO NOT MODIFY ONE OF THESE TUBES FOR PCP. So if you plan to buy this rifle in hopes of it having the quality sheridan or even benjamin would have, it ain't got it. If you want a co2 rifle that will take a squirrel at 25 yards, this is it. Its no show queen, Im glad I got it for 11% off and free shipping after getting pellets i needed.

    Things I liked:

Wooden stock, semi-pistol grip, comb, .22 cal, barrel length, Made in USA

    Things I would have changed:

The rear iron sight is atrocious and a bad day for the "Made in USA" industry. The gun shoots 1" groups 2-3" off target but there is no windage adjustment. None. Zero. Zip. I have to compensate halfway up the buckhorn to get on target. The valve seal design is finicky. Instructions say tighten "hand tight" but two cartridges in a row leaked major gas into the trigger on the first shot that pierces the cartridge. I lost half the gas and blew out the valve face seal. It's fundamentally a Crosman design flaw of the 22xx series. The design should pierce on tightening so you know right then and there with your hands on the tube cap whether it's tight enough. Also, the breech screw, which you MUST remove to fix the seal, is an uncommon .050 allen key type that strips easily. That should be stainless steel TORX or something from the factory.

    What others should know:

For the price range of this gun, there shouldn't be the expectation that a scope will be added or I had to become a gunsmith. But that is what I am forced to do and be. I think the gun should put pellets closer on target with the iron sights and that should have been flagged by Pyramid in it's 10 for $10. But that's me. There's no iron sight upgrade as other sights require a higher front sight and there is no mounting mechanism on the front sight. It's just a push on plastic sight. Even if you could find a replacement front/rear sight, the cost of new sights is basically that of a red dot or low end scope. Purchasers of this gun need to know they are buying into a "lego" gun and be ready to tear it completely down if/when the valve seal goes. Plan on replacing the breech with a stainless steel one. I would buy this again because there is no alternative but I'd want to know I have to budget for a scope and be a gunsmith before it actually works right.

    Things I liked:

This is my go-to co2 rifle. The stock is finished in a med dark color. Matte finish very smooth to the touch. Great fit to the action. Speaking of the action very smooth and crisp at the break. Steel breach with chrome or nickel plated nice touch with the contrasting finishes. The availability of after market parts is crazy rich. Most anything is replaceable from the valving to the trigger spring. East to work on for anyone. Or leave it alone and have a blast with a great shooter right out of the box.

    Things I would have changed:

A removable front sight for scope users. The main tube is long enough for 2 co2 powerlets. Why not make it use 2 somehow? Some checkering on the fore grip and around the stock grip area. For looks and functionality. Multi shot capabilities would be awesome.

    What others should know:

Excellent co2 air rifle. Great accuracy right out the box. Literally mounted and leveled the rifle in a bench rest. Put the scope on and leveled it. I was zeroed in at 20yards in less then 10 pellets. It makes one hole groups about 3/4 inch. Next to no felt recoil so if you miss with this one, it's you. The scope it comes with is a nice compliment to the package. Very small TAG style in the center doesn't get in the way of the target. Great for small game in the 20 - 25 yard range. Great plinker in that range. I imagine you could stretch it out to 30 - 35 yards if you want to and make it more interesting. Either way you're going to love it.

    Things I liked:

Nice finish on stock. Accurate right out of the box. Metal breech for scope mounting. Overall appearance.

    Things I would have changed:

Stock is more squared off/bulky feeling than my 2260SE. Comfort and weight of SE better for young shooters. Bolt is much stiffer than SE bolt and more cumbersome for young shooters. Trigger pull for MB says 3# while spec shows 4.4# for SE. SE seems to be lighter pull to me. Lighter pull would be better for accuracy or at least adjustable.

    What others should know:

If you are not using a scope and have young shooters the Crosman 2260 may better suit your needs, but it doesn't have the metal breech. I originally purchase the 2260SE from Pyramydair with the metal breech and center points version of the Bug Buster scope as a package. It was a great deal. If you need a scope the 2260MB is the way to go.
