Things I liked:

If it's the same dimensions as the 1911, you can mount a UM3 rail and put a red dot up top.

Things I liked:

Large capacity magazine however it jams constantly.

Things I would have changed:

The chain magazine is a good idea but it needs to be redesigned as it jams constantly.

What others should know:

The sights were way off and barely able to sight it in. The CO2 cartridge is difficult to remove. Its a nice clip in but does not come out easily. Also I didnt get a lot of shots out of a CO2 cartridge. Id recommend forget the blow back slide and use the CO2 for firing. I returned the gun.

    Things I liked:

I love this comes with adjustable rear site (windage and elevation), even with blowback I never experienced much drift with them. Heavier design reduces muzzle rise just like the firearm version it is based on, seriously reducing my time on target. Accurate (quarter size area on target) at 10 meters with sites alone using newly inserted CO2 cartridge and domed pellets (7-8 grain works best for me). Perfect for plinking, chasing pigeons off the roof, and discouraging coyotes (four-legged version) from thinking I'm "Meals on Wheels" (I'm in a wheelchair, stings them without causing actual harm to them since they are never in season). Longer barrel allows for more accurate shots. just like the firearm version. I love the belt design for the ammo feed Sig uses. Clear instructions (read before anything else). Safety and trigger work like the firearm version once properly worn and lubed (about 10 CO2 cartridges worth for me), INCLUDING the ammo belts.

    Things I would have changed:

I would have strongly preferred that the hammer could be de-cocked, my long hair keeps snagging on it when it is not while holstered (yes, I tie my hair back). Inability to disassemble even partially makes inspecting, clearing of jams, cleaning and lubing much more difficult than it needs to be. Safety and trigger feel very dry, a bit worrisome until broken in a bit. Bluing comes off the accessory mount easily when swapping out or just mounting or unmounting lasers and lights as needed for whatever. Seals and puncture-pin for CO2 cartridge wear out easily, though I have found a drop of PellGun oil at the tip of the cartridge limits this significantly. Like the P320 M17 counterpart, it seems to go through CO2 rather quickly, resulting in frequent jams (I use the ink tube from an old stick pen to push jammed pellets back into ammo belts so mag can be removed and barrel can be fully cleared).

    What others should know:

Like the firearm version, this is a longer barreled pistol and significantly heavier than most pistols. I use only PellGun oil for all lube needs as it is easier to dry up excess and it seeps perfectly into hammer, trigger, and safety (will need to allow during a break-in period of about 10 mags). NEVER use BB's with this one (says so in instructions, which you must always read with any new pistol or rifle, whether a firearm or otherwise). I strongly recommend only using .177 (4.5 mm) PISTOL cleaning rods, felt pellets, and pellets. Non-Pb pellets tend to be too light and tumble regardless of tip design. I tend to treat jams as a sign the CO2 pressure is too low for the pistol to work properly, which sharply reduces the jams I experience. Using PellGun oil on CO2 cartridge does likewise. I'm still using the same one I bought several years ago, only had to replace seals (via a friend who is a gunsmith) once in all that time. Not able to handle optical sites, never needed to use.

    Things I liked:

This feels like a solid replica of a firearm. The weight is good. I've owned a couple CO2 pellet guns and I like the CO2 cartridge cam loading system, better than others..

    Things I would have changed:

This is not a very accurate target shooter. It might be good for the firearm owner who wants to save money on ammo, or get some practice at home. I don't care for the blowback, it reminds me of shooting my friends 'springer' rifle. I'd gladly sacrifice the blowback effect for more accuracy. Adjustable sights? on a sliding receiver? This gun doesn't want to stay sighted in. I have to adjust the sights at the beginning of each shooting session. I don't know about machining tolerances affecting accuracy, or how much 'play' is normal but some folks who own Sig firearms, say these replica's disappoint.

    What others should know:

This gun proved to be a major disappointment. I've owned a couple CO2 wheel guns, and was looking forward to a semi-auto. Unfortunately, this gun doesn't shoot accurately enough for my liking. I can only get a decent group shooting benchrest at 20ft. The magazine clip isn't very well designed, but it does function well enough if adequately lubricated.. Using lithium oxide grease to lube the chain belts works, but that was too messy for me. I ride mountain bikes, and the magazine chain belts reminded me of bicycle chains. I found that the newer wax-like 'dry' bicycle chain lubes, worked much better than lithium grease. Try "MUC-OFF Dry Lube". Pointed pellets are too long and will jam the action. The ideal pellet length is 5mm. I have successfully run Meisterkugeln wadcutter pellets, as well as the JSB Diablo Exact dome headed pellets through this gun and had no jamming issues. Using a probe to seat the pellets provides some consistency in positioning.

Well made. This pistol is up to usual Sig-Sauer standards I have come to expect. Especially valuable in a time when 9mm ammo is so expensive.

    How to destroy a brand.

I have 6 sigs X5, 229s Extreme, Scorpion and 226s all great guns. The air guns are a disaster - complete waste of money and I know I have bought 4 of their air guns and each time a complete waste of money. The problem is very simple they are not putting the time and effort into getting the gun right - I assume they consider them toys - but they have their brand on them so be careful. Each of mine has the same problem so it is clear they know what the problems are before I wrote this: 1) The belt feeding system jams, before the belt feeding system ( ( idiot alet: I actually bought three each time hoping each time they fixed the problem) the problem is the mag w the bbs and air cartridge as one - jammed every 3 shots. Just got the belt system is jamms every two shots. 2) The cycling of each shot burns tons of 02 not worth it. I think you get like maybe 50 shots per O2. They should spend their time making the gun fire without naming and more accurate forget the blow back clying. In short these guns DO NOT WORK. They must count on people wanting a replica.

    Fantastic Quality -Heavy Weight

Waaay to heavy for comfortable use. Geez guys -lighten up a little. I would also like to see Sig include a snap-on orange tip for all of their air pistols so that the user has a chance of not getting shot by a LEO, since their pistols are exact replicas of actual guns. As a former LEO, I’ve come a half a trigger squeeze away from really shooting stupid people that were using replicas in public to point at me or other citizens.

    Great idea - terrible execution

Where to start? I guess my main complaint is that it's unusable because it constantly jams. EVERY magazine has multiple jams. Even with very high quality pellets. I keep a rod with the pistol at all times so I can slide the rod down the barrel and clear the jam. I like that it has adjustable sights but they are adjusted to the maximum adjustment so the rear sight is cranked all the way up and hanging way off to the right to get it to shoot straight. This makes me think that extreme adjustments of the sights is necessary to compensate for sloppy internal assembly. The trigger is very heavy. Even after it actuates the magazine belt. The CO2 loading is fantastic but who cares. I'm sure the food was great on the titanic. What kinda makes me mad is that I'm sure SIG knows this is a terrible product but they keep selling it. Just avoid this one.

    James D'Arcy

Chose this model for the realism in both appearance and weight and the potential for add-on accessories with the rail. After purchasing, I started finding the negative reviews, talking about jamming etc. I'd even bought hollow tip pellets, making my concern for jamming even worse! I can't say I've given it the exhaustive test, but through two weeks and the first 450 shots, I haven't had a single jam. (Knock on wood - I'm hoping this review doesn't jinx me) 10/10 for realism, in any case, and frankly at this juncture 10/10 for shooting (even the mag mechanism, much complained about, has run smooth as a whistle... So far!) Highly recommended.

    Things I liked:

The mag capacity.. with Co2 it starts to drop off after one mag. But give it a minute and it comes right back. Its a very quiet pistol. I love the ability to adjust sights completely.. very rare in a Co2 pistol. And it works good.. nice clicks for each adjustment. I can keep it accurate out to 40ft.. after that, not so much.

    Things I would have changed:

The mag does have a tendency to jam.. Better design maybe..

    What others should know:

If you load the belt in the mag with lithium grease it works fine, and just stays smooth.. after about 2 months I had to work some more into the belt.. no jams after that.

    Things I liked:

Solid metal, heavy and feels very similar to the Sig X-Five. The CO2 cartridge loading system is the best I've seen and very easy to load perfectly every time. Adjustable sights (wish all pellet pistols had it). Not a squirrel killer, but a great backyard plinker.

    Things I would have changed:

    1. The 20-round pellet magazine has 2 side holes near the top that make it difficult the rotate the chain to load it, they should just remove those two access holes and it would be better. 2. Once your CO2 gets down a bit (especially if you fire fast and the CO2 gets cold), the blowback action will intermittently fail to reset the trigger. 3. The safety is really stiff and hard to engage with your thumb, but is easy enough to release. Pelgun oil might fix this. 4. After firing 20 rounds, if I check the magazine, there will be a few stray intermittent rounds that didn't fire, but luckily haven't jammed in the barrel 5. I would prefer a version without the blowback and DAO to save CO2. I shoot 3 mags (60 rounds) and swap the CO2 6. I would like a decocker as there is no way to drop the hammer manually with CO2 in the gun unless the blowback fails as described in #2

    What others should know:

This is a plinker and its accurate at 20 yards for shooting tin cans or small airgun targets. I love the feel and the weight, versus cheaper co2 guns. For the money, its worth it. I also recommend using Alloy pellets to get higher FPS. As others will warn you, ONLY use Wadcutter/flat head ammo. Pointed/rounded ammo is problematic in this gun. I'm using H&N Match Green Pellets (TIN) with good results. The trigger rotates the mag and then fires, it DOES NOT feel like a regular trigger so as a trainer, it's limited in that respect. I recommend an Air Venturi pellet pen which helps speed up loading the magazine. Overall, its pretty much what I expected and I'm happy with my purchase.

    Things I liked:

Great looks. Very detailed and authentic weight. I purchased this gun primarily because of the adjustable sights. The sights look and function very well. The CO2 loading system is a nice addition and is very easy to use.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is the worst I have ever experienced in decades of hand-gunning. It is a two-stage process with the first stage used to rotate the belt magazine. This stage is predictable but very clunky. The second stage is very difficult to pull which results in poor accuracy. I bench tested this gun with 9 different high-quality pellets and could not get better than 2.5-3" groups at 21 feet. I think this is probably the result of the terrible trigger.

    What others should know:

Make sure to apply non-petroleum lubrication to the magazines (silicone) and use a probe to seat each pellet in the magazine belt. A slick is felt when the pellet is properly seated. However, if seated too much, a jam will result. Both of these things seem to go a long way toward eliminating jams with the magazine. Jams also are caused when too many shots are attempted and the CO2 gas is low resulting in a pellet stuck in the barrel. I think the X5 is a nice pistol but wish it was more accurate. I own 5 centerfire Sigs and have come to expect a lot from this company. The X5 just did not deliver. It is probably OK for tin-can busting at close range where accuracy is less important.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Adjustability and overall look of the sights. This is one of the main features that caused me to focus on the X5 over other Co2 pistols. I always want the point of impact to match my point of aim without having to employ Kentucky windage. The X5 provides this. The X5 has a unique way of allowing the Co2 cartridge to be installed that is much simpler than any other of the several pistols I own. The system is first-rate. I shot 5 magizines of RWS Hobby 7gr pellets at 7yds and constantly achieved 1.5-2" groups. I used this pellet because it has proven to be accurate in other Co2 guns I own and did not compare it to other pellet weights or manufactures' products. I thought this was very acceptable accuracy for a pistol of this type.

    Things I would have changed:

I find the weight of the pistol to be rather heavy. I actually believe it may be heavier than an actual center-fire version. I own several full-sized, large-caliber pistols and think the X5 may well be heavier. The trigger feel is rather unusual at best and is definitely a two-stage operation. The first stage is used to ratchet a pellet from the belt-fed magazine into position for the next shot and has a long crunchy feeling to it. Once the mag. is positioned, the final let-off is predictable and fairly crisp. I found that I had easily mastered the trigger's feel after only firing a couple of magazines.

    What others should know:

The magazine is an awkward thing to load, however, my experience with the mag. was simplified when I followed the suggestion of others to give the inside a good coat of oil and to use a suitable probe pusher to fully seat each pellet in the chain system. After doing these things I have not suffered any jams or stuck pellets which are things other X5 owners have complained about. Finally, I have used skateboard tape (just adhesive-backed sandpaper) on hanguns for years and found that adding a piece to the grip's backstrap greatly enhances the guns grip feel. My final comment is that this is a very interesting Co2 pistol and one that is a great deal of fun to shoot. I suggest that you purchase several additional magazines to be loaded at home before the shoot and have a wonderful day with it. It certainly has my recommendation.
