Things I liked:

Everything, great value, 80 shots on target, one air fill!

Things I would have changed:

Better fit on the fore end......but I can live with it :)

What others should know:

Nice large bolt handle that is not going to snap off. Very accurate and amazing consistency. I shot 8 10 shot crono strings with one tank of air. String #1 was 823.2 FPS, string #7 was 823.0 FPS between those string 2 was the lowest at 821 FPS and #3 was the fastest @835.9 FPS I was using cheap Wal-Mart Crossman pellets, unsorted right out of the can. Better pellets would probably give better results. Oh and all those shots went thru a single hole about 3/8" in diameter.

Things I liked:

Nothing

Things I would have changed:

Received Gauntlet with 35lb bolt action. I measured it. Never fired or aired up. Sent it back for a refund and Pyramid Air sent another that I didn't want based on my experience with the first one. The replacement is exactly the same. Working on a return for the second one. With a 35lb bolt it isn't usable. A cheap rifle should still work, otherwise it is just a pile of junk.

What others should know:

Will consider doing business with Pyramyd Air again but no more Umarex junk. No rating for accuracy as neither were ever fired. Don't waste your time and money.

    Things I liked:

Removable regulated air supply. Trigger not bad once I adjusted it. Seems very accurate, still breaking it in. it is amazing Pyramid shipped it to my house in 2 days.

    Things I would have changed:

It would be nice if the air bottle had the manometer 90 degrees from the fill port, but nothing I can't get used to.

    What others should know:

When I adjusted the trigger, I noticed the air tank was loose after degassing it. I tried tightening it to no avail (didn't try forcing anything because it worked before I degassed it). Once I reassembled the rifle and began filling again, the tank tightened up. Afterwards I spent quite a while searching the internet to research loose bottle to find that was normal. The other thing was chambering the pellet was very hard at first using Crossman hollowpoint (which is a little harder than most pellets) H&N Terminator was a little easier). After seating several pellets I decided to use a cleaning rod to push a seated pellet back out and inspect. It looks like the pellet head was seated in the rifling and seems to be seating easier. Hopefully that will be better once it is broken in. Stills shoots great with either pellet.

    Things I liked:

It's accurate, powerful, quiet, and it's heft makes it feel like you're really shooting something.

    Things I would have changed:

Make it so the gun can be cocked while the safety is engaged, OR make it so the safety can't be engaged unless the gun is cocked (to avoid jams - see below).

    What others should know:

If you cock it with the safety on, the action jams up bad. The manual does not say this anywhere obvious, but umarex told me "it should not be cocked with the safety on". (Meaning, engage the safety after you cock it). This is annoying, as I was trained to engage the safety immediately after I fire (unless taking an immediate follow up shot), making user-caused jamming easy. Needing to unjam a "hot" airgun is not ideal.

    What others should know:

Something about throwing a .25 caliber vs. my .177 and .22 pellets. At the low prices Umarex is selling the Gauntlet 1 and from many online reviews..why not? It’s about $1800 less than my German dream rifle I went for the $10 ten shot service, well worth it as it gave me a baseline for what to expect for a $220 rifle and avoid immediate returns due to gross sloppy workmanship. Half the missing bluing on top of the hammer tube, the slow air leak, and broken stripper O-ring is disappointing. But, the rifle shoots well at 50 yards with the signature stiff bolt. The trigger adjusts nicely so will keep the rifle. I look forward to many shots with a few mods down the road. First up is an O-ring kit to hunt down the leak and replace any more clipped o-rings. Not sure what a three year warranty means with high shipping cost. No thanks, O-ring kits are cheaper than postage. Below are my just received Chrony results that mirror the results from Pyramid, heavier pellets in my case. Error!!

    Things I liked:

I love the accuracy of this gun? it shoot better than my 10/22. I can see why people are so into PCP guns. I shot a single ragged hole in the center of my target at 35 yards with 8 shots.

    Things I would have changed:

Doing a pressure check before shipping the guns out. Mine leaked down 2,000psi overnight and even after tightening the reg block screws, it still leaked but at a slower rate.

    What others should know:

This is a great gun and I wouldn't hesitate to get one. Mine had a warranty issue however, I would still buy it again.

    Things I liked:

The best thing about this rifle is the accuracy. I have shot 3-4 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yds with these guns. I have two of them, one in .22 and one in .25. They both shoot great. I did work on the regulators and got them both set to factory specs, 1200 psi and 1900 psi. I also changed the tanks to 22ci. New owners complain about the bolt being hard to cock and they are right but keep oil on it and it will smooth out. With the price of these at $230 you can’t go wrong. If you’re thinking about getting into the pcp world now is the time, you won’t regret buying one of these. I have an FX wildcat that I paid 7 times more for than my gauntlets and I shoot the gauntlets more. With the price as low as it is on the gen 1’s there’s no excuse to not buy one

    Things I would have changed:

I changed the tanks to 22 cubic inches to get a higher shot count. My count with the 13 cubic inch tank on the .22 cal was 60 and now it’s about 90.

    What others should know:

Go buy one, clean it, and shoot it you’ll love it.

    Things I liked:

Very accurate rifle right from the box. Price is low. Includes a single shot tray and a single magazine and BOTH work well.

    Things I would have changed:

Swivel studs for a sling are too close to be very useful. Cocking is very stiff - Would work better with a lever action like my AT-44 rifle has. It also has a lot of trigger take up travel to get to the firing point. Would be better with adjustments to the trigger that can be accessed without having to take the gun apart.

    What others should know:

Overall this gun in .25 cal is a track driver anywhere from 20-60 yards using a Benjamin 27.8 grn pellet. I have already taken 2 coyotes at 60 yards out with a single shot at night using a Pard DS35 LRF night scope. For those of you who have the Pard DS35 LRF scope and the .25 version using the Benjamin 27.8 grn pellets I have the ballistic calculator set to a coefficient of 0.036 for this round and it can drive a tack from 20 to 60 yards. That rounds muzzle velocity for me comes in at 875 FPS... This is a heavy rifle to begin with and using a scope such as above it comes in at right around 10 pounds total. It is manageable for a grown man but a younger person MAY find it too heavy, and cocking it too difficult for them...
