Things I liked:

The MP40 is a real pleasant surprise. It exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish along with the weight and feel of the gun is excellent! It is surprising accurate for a BB gun. While I haven't put it through my chronograph, it's shooting straight and hitting the target hard at 15 yards. I'm a springer fan and use to shooting my higher priced pellet air guns such as my HW97K, Beeman R9, RWS 48, and RWS K98. All of which can shoot one hole accuracy at 15 yds. The MP40 is not that type of air gun, but for much less than 1/2 the price, it's not only an excellent replica, it's a whole lot of fun to shoot!

Things I would have changed:

I wish the retention spring for the bb's had a notch that would lock it in place for loading. As it is, you have to hold it back with your finger when loading the bb's. Not a big deal, just makes it a little awkward.

What others should know:

The MP40 is an excellent value for the money. I'd highly recommend buying CO2 cartridges in the 40 pack. The temptation to shoot this gun on full auto is strong. Although with the blow back effect, even the semi auto is a hoot.

    Things I liked:

Overall authenticity, reliable operation and accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the owner's manual, page 8 CAUTION states: "Never load the airgun until you have verified it will discharge CO2 properly". Page 7 states: "if the airgun does dot make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO2 is not being discharged. When the magazine is charged and locked into the receiver (but not loaded with bbs) and the trigger is pulled, there is no release of CO2 (or popping noise) Apparently there was a design change so that the airgun will not release CO2 when the magazine is empty of bbs, a good thing but they need to update the instructions to reflect that change. I ended up blowing out the magazine seal in an attempt to verify that it was charged not having heard the CO2 capsule(s) being pieced. PyramydAir could not supply me a new seal, they wanted me to return the whole airgun for warranty work, I found a suitable metric o ring (21mm)I think. The airgun has been working ever since.

    What others should know:

The owners manual is out of date (apparently)

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing that I would change I red that ther was no way I could hold the mag spring back long enough to load it, I found lock on one side at the rear of them to hold it back, easy to lock it for loading, perfect.

    Things I liked:

Nice gun. Good replica. Very convincing. Umarex makes a fine airgun. It's fast, and powerful for CO2. It works very well as long as you keep it clean and magazine dry.

    Things I would have changed:

    Stronger magazine spring.

    Things I liked:

The heft, detail, and perfect firing rate in full-auto.

    Things I would have changed:

Original I was nervous about the gun shooting low left, high right, or etc. Rudimentary adjustments for windage would be nice (I know it's full-auto, shut up) since I push all of my airguns to their excellence limit. Fortunately, mine shot point of aim right out of the box! (Bouncing bottle caps after pulverizing the bottles Lol.)

    What others should know:

So far the stock is my only gripe, (A bit of wiggle-jiggle)but definitely not a deal-breaker. I plan on tinkering with the mechanism and making it lock solid in the historically-accurate position. I'm fae too critical of everything I buy, and I give this bb-spittin' monster FIVE STARS!

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

The one I received has a hold catch on the magazine follower and is very easy to load bb's, not sure if earlier mags had this feature but it works great. I get 4 magazines on a fill as long as I don't go full auto all the time. Mine hits center but a little low at 10 meters so no problem taking the center out of a pop can. Buy one and have some fun

    Things I liked:

I have owned the M40 and the M1A1 Thompson BB guns for about two years now and they are fun to shoot! I do not have any problems with the Crossman C02 cartages. But I do like the silver BBs they seem to work better especially with the M1A1 Thompson. I did have a problem, I kept having to reload the darn things so I bought three extra clops for each BB gun. It was a big pain the reload 4 clips all of the time BBs everywhere especially trying to hold the spring-loaded BB nub catch to stay open while loading. So, I designed a way to load the clips very fast, it only takes a few seconds (about 3sec each clip) with no spilled BBs. I also bought a longer Allen wrench because it was difficult to judge when the C02 cartridges were punctured. I friend and war game with Plaster of Paris WWII tanks (look on YouTube “mrdstony” to see those tanks 1/35 scale), anyway we needed a close in weapon for out game and the legends guns are prefect.

    Things I would have changed:

Sometimes the guns seem to jam after about several hundred round or after the silicone oil builds up after repeated C02 a little spray of WD40 seems to clear it up, just remember to use the silicone oil after shooting on the seals of the gun.

    Things I liked:

It looks amazing, it feels amazing, and the mechanical sounds it makes are also amazing. Full auto is super fun when laying waste to pop cans.

    Things I would have changed:

The magazine really does like to jam/misfire even when you only fill 40-45 rounds. Would be nice to figure out a way to solve that/and or not have the gun waste CO2 when it does misfire/jam.

    What others should know:

When it works, it works great. But be warned you will have jams and misfires, and therefore you will waste CO2. But it is still fun overall. I give it a solid 8/10

    Things I would have changed:

magazine, don't make it double stack, my excite bbs don't feed in it.

    What others should know:

excite bbs do not feed properly, i doubt the dust devils will either. this is a no go for me, since i cannot afford ricochets. I shoot at reactive metal targets, like cowboy action shooting or 3 gun. however it will be a cool wall hanger well worth the 200$

    Things I liked:

It is a very realistic reproduction of the German MP-40 submachine gun in looks and feel.

    Things I would have changed:

Better quality control. The gun is great, the magazine not so much. The mag I received does not want to feed BBs. I am using Crosman Copperheads. I will try another mag when they become available. The problem I am having is not related to loading too many BBs, if I load ten it may fire 3 before it jams.

    Things I liked:

This is an almost exact copy of the MP40 submachinegun. Its weight is very close to the real MP40. There are a few things that are different, but this is as close as it can be, for an airgun. The blowback feature is very realistic and itD recoils enough to move the point of aim, in full automatic mode. The folding stock is a great feature and very close to the real gun, except that on the real MP40, the stock is slightly below level position when extended. This gun is very well made, feeling solid in your hands, not cheaply made. I have fired over 3000 bb's through my MP40, with no feeding problems, just use the Umarex Black Diamond bb's.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the magazine, specifically the way that the Co2 cartriges are pierced.. Other than that, I would change the gun so that it could be field stripped, for maintainence, and to add to the realisim.

    What others should know:

I am glad that I bought this gun, it is so much fun shooting at empty soda cans and other interactive targets that I have made. This is another great gun made by Umarex, definately one to add to your collection. Buy extra magazines, you will need them.
