Things I liked:

Everything! From the sturdy cardboard box its packed in. Finish on stock is dark and evenly applied. Bluing on the steel is deep and lusterous. The cocking stroke is smooth and bank vault solid. Firing cycle is smooth. Match trigger is crisp and let off is precise. The rifle is heavy but shoulders well due to its carbine length. Unbelievably accurate!

Things I would have changed:

The shot has a slight spring twang. This may subside as the rifle breaks in. To me due to the fantastic accuracy this is not a deal breaker. .

What others should know:

I installed a basic 3x9x40 center point scope I had lying around. 20 shots to site in. 1/8" groups at my indoor range. Outside at 28 yrds .30 groups. Using Beeman Kodiac 10.65 gr. Outside target shooting placed cans 35-50 yrds hits every shot. To end the day an energy shot bottle was placed at 50 yrds hit it five shots in a row with 1/2 mil dot hold up. I am saving to buy a nice Hawke scope so everyone can imagine the accuracy will be even better with that scope. Without question this is the best quality, best shooting air rifle out of the nine I own. Did you order yours yet? Lol

Beautiful gun

What others should know:

After 8 shots the gun locked or froze in the open position. It is on its way to Umarex for repair. They diagnosed the problem over the phone as a defective bear trap.

    Things I liked:

Near PCP accuracy. Very hold insensitive and easily shot off a pillow. As delivered, the first stage is very, very long. Replaced the slot head screw in the trigger with a longer one and readjusted to minimize sear engagement. Adjusted like this, the first stage will not reset if you decide not to take the shot. Mine loves Crosman CPL 7.9 grain, H&N FTT 8.64 grain 4.52 head, and Air Arms 8.4 grain 4.52 head. By far less hold sensitive than my Air Arms TX200 Mk3 in .177 and equal to the HW97k .177 which I also have.

    Things I would have changed:

The European metal trigger would be a better option than the plastic trigger.

    Things I liked:

I gave accuracy a 3-star until I can determine the accuracy of my LGU. I purchased a .177 caliber. The gun weight a little heavier than Spec. The craftsmanship is excellent. The gun looks like a work of art. My LGU shoots hard. My chrony showed an average of 916 fps using JSB Exact 8.4g which comes out to 15.65 ft-Lbs. This feature is a plus in competition. Cocking is surprisingly less for a gun with this much power. I didn't measure it using a scale but just by the feel of it. It cocks significantly easier than my Diana 34 and HW97K. If this gun weighs a couple of pounds less, it will be a great all day Plinker. When fire, gun doesn't jump and very little recoil which surprised me for a spring gun that shoots this hard. Maybe the fact that it is slightly muzzle heavy and weight 9.75 Lbs helped.

    Things I would have changed:

I cannot feel where the trigger breaks. Perhaps someone can help. Firing cycle is not as smooth as what some reviewers said. There is no thump like the TX200. Even my Diana 34 has a smoother firing cycle. Although LGUs firing cycle has no twang, it does have significant vibration. It vibrates as hard as my HW35, and my HW35 does NOT have Walther's Vibration-reduction technology and my HW35 shoots just slightly under 13 ft-Lbs and this LGU shoots at 15.65 ft-Lbs. I purchased this gun hoping that I can shoot it in my backyard without alerting my neighbors. It is not backyard friendly. The report is significant even when I fire the LGU at arms length. I am disappointed that the Walther's Super Silent Technology didn't work well. It is not as loud as my Diana 34, about the same loudness as my HW35. I was hoping to do accuracy testing in my backyard. I hate the long drive to the firing range.

    What others should know:

If this gun is accurate, it will be a great competition spring gun, better than my old HW97K and even the TX200 Mk3 that I once borrowed.

    Things I liked:

Very well finished, very good trigger, great stock, and extremely accurate, very smooth action, haven't had to tighten mounting screws, and have shot about 5 cans of pellets, love this gun, one of the most accurate I own including my PCPs.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing of any importance, Walther makes great products and I'm very happy with this purchase, actually a little bit surprised how good it really is.

    What others should know:

My gun is extremely accurate, one hole groups at 35 yards, and yes still one hole groups at 50 yards although a bit larger 1/2" to 3/4", it shoots most pellets well, but I use the Diabolo Field Heavys 10.3 grain AA's, and JSB Exact Heavy Diabolo 10.34 to get those groups, I've never checked the velocity, shooting one groups like it does who cares.

    Things I liked:

The quality of this rifle is fantastic! The bluing of the steel. The dark brown color of the stain. Everything is solid. No squeeks or grinds. The cocking stroke is as solid and smooth as a bank vault. It surpasses my RWS34P in accuracy. I have no trouble hitting energy shot bottles at 50 yrds. This is now the most accurate air rifle I own.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. Did have a slight spring twang at first. But now have about 900 pellets through it and it has dissapated.

    What others should know:

The best pellet (so far) for my .177 is the Beeman Kodiak 10.65gr This rifle is a terrific value at Pyramyd Airs price. I recently mounted a Hawke 4x12x50 Air Max scope on it and will update this later. BTW did you order your LGU yet? You will not be disappointed.

Finesse and accurate shooting out of the box with JSB Exact 8.44g / 4.52 mm pellets; with no break in/ easily one inch groups @ 40 yds from the bench; no detonation at initial firings or after 500 tin; stock is flawless and cocking arm lever has less play than my TX 200 walnut; extra mass does help accuracy and stability; completely ambidextrous stock; Greatest Service and expertise from Staff at PA!

    Things I would have changed:

    update with the metal trigger from Walther please; include at least a longer Stage one screw for more adjustment flexibility;

    What others should know:

    Great deal from PA!! I did not eliminate All of the Stage one trigger movement (as some have done with a longer stage 1 screw) from any of my Walther LGVs or LGU as that lessened my accuracy; BUT a shorter stage 1 movement indeed does help; Carefully done, a judicious amount of DRY lube spray into the trigger housing without disassembly smooths their triggers; on my LGU a compensation mount optimizes the mounted Hawke sidewinder 30 scope (4 X 16);

    Things I liked:

I purchased this .22 rifle from PA during their fabulous 20% off sale. I was glad that Air Arms didn't participate because that meant I didn't have to consider the TX200. I cannot imagine being happier if I had chosen TX. If you are reading about the LGU, you probably already know its reputation. Let me confirm it. It is a very attractive (to my eye) gun, rock solid-and really not too heavy, and just exudes quality...especially when it shoots. First off, it is quiet. Real quiet. Secondly (but it shouldn't be), it shoots real quietly pellet after pellet into the same hole at 20 yards. Ten plain-Jane Benjamin's into a hole only a little larger than a pencil's diameter. I would have thought it a myth if I hadn't seen it and done it myself. True beauty.

    Things I would have changed:

Besides studding it with diamonds and giving it wings, nothing.

    What others should know:

I adjusted the trigger too light...and then farther, until it quit working. I would tell you not to do this but there is no way you can know when to stop. If you do this, don't panic. Just turn the screws back from whence they came until the sear catches again. No problem.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

I have many springers that are accurate but this may be the most accurate. Grouping are extremely small. The most unusual aspect is that any pellet shot falls into the same spot. I settled on a H&N FT 16.36Gr. .22cal. pellet but if I mixed five entirely different pellets together they would form a great group. Quality of build is excellent and it out shoots my TX200. All piece parts are polished and fit together perfectly. The LGU cox easily and is very smooth. Parts are so well fit it actually has a vacuum on the cylinder when returning the lever. I'm older and probably an above average shooter but my true test of a springer is 40 yards. Many of my good shooters start to loose some accuracy at that range for me but with this rifle I can still hold groups that are dime size. This is a high quality rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

There are a couple of things I would have changed. The trigger is the low point of this gun and really doesn't match the rest of this air rifle. It is plastic with lateral slop. Having said this it works well and breaks cleanly not effecting accuracy. This is not a hunter but a target rifle. It weighs a ton much like the TX200. Pest control great but your not going to carry it all day through the woods unless you are a stronger younger individual.

    What others should know:

Most springers are on the heavy side to help calm recoil. For hunting I like my R9, RWS430 and my HW77. My TX200 is touted as the best springer made but this gun will out shoot my 200 all day long. I was not a Walther fan based on a Terrus that I have but this really changed my opinion of Walther. There is no real recoil. Save your pennies if you want a true high class rifle and add this to your collection. Down the road this will increase in value and be looked at as one of the great air rifles made.

    Things I liked:

My LGU in .22 is not hold sensitive or pellet picky. It is quiet, easy to cock, extremely accurate, has a good trigger, beautiful ergonomic design, low recoil, and is enjoyable to use for extended shooting sessions.

    Things I would have changed:

Needs checkering on the forearm. I bought this for shooting paper targets at 25 yards off a bench and it is perfect for that. Although it would be excellent for hunting small game, I don't use it for that. Combined with a nice scope it weighs close to 11 lbs. besides it is way too pretty to get scratched up.

    What others should know:

It shoots many brands and kinds of pellets well but the most accurate I’ve found are JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo 15.89 Grains. Head shots on gummy bears at 25 yards? Not a problem!

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

As accurate as a pcp. Outstanding craftsmanship. Extremley easy tear down. Not pellet fussy or hold sensetive. You can rest this gun. I have shot many Air Rifles and I can say honestly that this is my favorite gun hands down. I actually gave my pcp to my son because i just don't need it. I was hung up on a tx or an HW, but for the price and and accuracy, there just isn't any point to it. 5 shots in the same hole at 27 yards is more than enough for me.

    Things I would have changed:

Honestly, nothing. Sure, the trigger could be better and is more like a three stage, but it hasn't thrown my shot placement and it really doesnt bother me. I should say it doesnt bother the round impact rather.

    What others should know:

You will need to tear it down and remove the lube. It comes heavily greased/oiled, and there was a fair amount of lube on the front of the seal. Tear down is so easy though and if you're like me, you are going to want to break it down as soon as it arrives anyway. I can't say enough about this outstanding rifle. If you're on the fence between the TX, this and the HW, save that money. Get this and a nice Hawke Vantage for the same price and laugh all the way to the field.

    Things I liked:

Nice look & feel. Nice fit of parts. Great safe packaging.

    Things I would have changed:

Better quality control before shipping. If I did not feel confident of my skills this gun would have been sent back within 30 minutes of first shot. Parts shouldn't be falling off of this "quality" of gun in under 100 shots. Gun should not detonate - diesel that hard for teens of shots, that had to be hard on the seals and my new scope. And that trigger,,,, way stiff compared to my RWS 48 T06. I put the "Yankee Trigger" screw in,, now its great. Put a spring guide in the better control the buzz..

    What others should know:

The first 12-15 shots, the gun dieseled so heavily that 10 grain .177 pellets were breaking the sound barrier louder than any airgun I have owned. Within 50 shots the cocking lever ball detent came loose from the barrel , I had to take the bolt out clean and Loctite. Within 75 shoots the Anti-bear trap release almost fell of the action. I had to take that apart,, clean screws and Loctite that as well. And it's shot cycle is fast and does buzz. (my RWS 34 and 48 with a vortek kit have NO sound) so this is a little annoying to fully enjoy the whole quality gun experience. But other than that it seems nice. More attention to detail in many areas compared to my RWS guns. Maybe could have been a 5 star if it hadn't had those issues..

    Things I liked:

This is a solid, smooth, and beautiful weapon! The beech stock on my rifle is well proportioned, satin smooth, and shows good grain through the wrist, cheek pieces, and forearm, anywhere the wood has a contour change. I was not expecting such a good piece of wood. The bluing is well executed with a satin finish, not bright but not dull. I mounted a Hawke 3-9 x 40 in BKL mounts with no droop compensation. It took me six shots to get into the black, but the next 5 shots went into .388 ctc at 15 yards. I have tried several brands of pellets [I bought 7 different kinds when I purchased the rifle] but so far the JSB Match Exact Express Diabolo 7.87 grains are tack drivers. I found the H & N Field Target Trophy at 8.64 grains to be a push fit and a little snug but still shoot well. The H & N Coppa-Spitzkugel pointed 7.56 grain and the H & N Terminator 7.25 grain hollowpoints both shoot well from the Walther. All 4 shoot under .724 at my max target range of 25 yards. This is a shooter!

    Things I would have changed:

I am not going to nitpick such a beautiful weapon. I would love for it to come with a curly maple stock or an exceptional piece of walnut, but my beech has more grain than I expected and is very attractive. If a pound of weight could be shaved off that would be nice, but its weight does let it settle well and remain very stable for each shot. We would all like to spend less but money spent on this Walther LGU is well spent and reasonable for the quality received. My stock was a little dull, perhaps dry, but 2 coats of stock wax has given it a slight sheen that complements the bluing very well. There is nothing I would change that makes this a deal breaker. The Walther Heritage shows and this weapon will have a place of pride in your gun safe.

    What others should know:

My LGU has a classic 2 stage military style trigger pull. Very reminiscent of my Match Grade M-14 I used in Inter-service matches in the 60's and 70's. It has a long very light first stage then reaches a "wall", then the 2nd stage breaks crisply, almost without thought at 18 ounces. No creep, no noticeable backlash or overtravel. I have not adjusted it and will not. It is perfect right where it is! There are pricier guns out there but you will not be disappointed in the Walther LGU. I have just ordered a Diana Model 34 Premium and an AA TX 200 MK III and know they will complement my Walther nicely but they will not replace it. I have always been and always will be a firearm fanatic and have a well rounded collection. However, at age 66, this is my first foray into quality air guns. The quality of this Walther LGU and the exceptional assistance I have received from Ruth in PA Customer Service has given me the confidence to add myself to the ranks of airgunners worldwide.

    Things I liked:

Fine quality, higher than average. Nice bluing (near AA quality) and a very nice stock for Beech. Action is smooth, shot cycle is short, sharp and just a bit of buzz. Much smoother than most untuned springers I've shot. The gun is as smooth as my AA Prosport. Nice high comb on the stock and the fore-stock is pleasingly slim. Large loading port makes inserting the round simple and quick. Deep and sharp laser checkering on the stock. Cocking is butter smooth and not too difficult (I'm 49). Nice automatic safety and it's located in a great spot. Feels solid in your hands and has good balance. Accuracy is very, very good and again equal to my Prosport which I rate at far above average. It will do .20-30" at 25 yards for most 5 shot groups. Seem a bit less hold sensitive than my Prosport. The gun is quiet for a springer, the quietest full power .177 springer I've shot.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is heavy and the second stage is a bit long. I've adjusted it down quite a bit, and it's OK but it's no AA Prosport. I may have more adjustement to go, so will have to hold my final opinion. Don't care for the bear trap safety, it adds another step in cocking but then you do get used to it. The rubber Orings on the cocking lever are not my idea of high end. That's about it.

    What others should know:

This is a GREAT air rifle. If it were a bit cheaper it'd be the best deal in springers. It is near the equal to the AA Prosport in build and is equal in accuracy. Likes JSB 7.87 grains. Shoots them at 880 to 890fps or so. The gun diesels right off the bat and continues to do so for quite a while (100 to 200 shots) but settles in. The barrel was dirty when the gun arrived and I ran a few patches through it, but it's still dieseling. I don't expect it to be in top form until I get 700-900 rounds through it. If I can get the trigger adjusted a bit more it will be sweet.

    Things I liked:

Good power 14.6-14.7 FtE and need more time with accuracy to say. Mine is in .177 so higher Energy "23J" THAN THE .22 "16J", why I do not know Walther did this. Fit finish is as good as a TX200 that I returned with multiple issues. Trigger is almost as good as the AA CD trigger. The metal tuning trigger would make it even close ...er or same.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not much.

    What others should know:

Leftys the stock is great. for the $$ it is a steal and a solid air rifle. The feel (subjective) is fantastic.

    Things I liked:

The gun is a great shooter right out of the box. It feels good in the shooting position and the ambi-stock is nice for us lefties. The gun is made with fiber guides that keep the piston tube and the piston itself straight and true when the spring releases. No need to button them. The safety is easy to use and your thumb goes right to it when you want to take the shot. I would recomend this gun to anyone who wants a quality piece of art.

    Things I would have changed:

The same complaint as almost anyone else. The plastic trigger distracts from a nearly perfect gun. My gun came through with great chrono numbers but that was because it was soaked with factory oil and the diesel effect sort of took over. I don't think that much oil was necessary and without a good cleaning, it would have taken a while to burn it off. The only reason for a four star overall is the plastic trigger. Enough suggestions about this may get Walther to reconsider.

    What others should know:

Even with the trigger adjusted to the lowest pull, it is still a bit heavier than my TX200 and RWS48. You can easily get used to a "target" trigger pull and when shooting one that is not quite as soft, it may take some getting used to. So far I did. Creep can be dialed out of the factory trigger and that is a good thing and it does break clean. It is every bit as accurate as my "tuned" TX200 and I compete against myself between the two guns.
