AirMarksman Frag Boat Tail Hollowpoint Slug .217 Cal, 40.1gr, 125ct

These are nasty slugs that hit game hard. The front half of the slug fragments into four big pieces on impact similar to a varmint round while the rest continues on into the target. That means these slugs are effective on small and medium game. The damage these do to chipmunks and squirrels is brutal. I've got my RTI Mora pushing these at 1000 FPS and everything I hit is dead on the spot. These load very smoothly and are very accurate, even at long range.

It would be nice to get a few more slugs per tin. You get about half as many of these as you do for the same amount of money for other 40 grain slugs. I know the manufacturing process is a more complicated than for a traditional slug, but nearly 19 cents a round stings a little.

Make sure you have a fast enough twist rate to stabilize these heavy slugs. You need at least an 1:16 to keep them stable.

It takes a very powerful PCP to launch these at necessary fps around 80 fpe. Also a bit long so may not fit in some magazines. Out of my 800mm Impact and slug liner...950 fps this slug is remarkable have killed game to 200 yards. The Orion Iguana mags work great with these slugs. Now that Pyramyd carries them I'm ordering from them as get 5 tins but only pay for 4. If you have a powerful PCP these are definitely worth a try.
