Athlon Optics 4.5-29x56 Cronus BTR Reviews

I mounted the Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2 4.5-29x56 on my Seekins Precision 6.5 PRC, and it has quickly become one of my favorite optics. My family owned a sporting goods shop for nearly 40 years, so I’ve had a lot of hands-on experience with optics from many different manufacturers. I’ve been replacing many of my scopes with Athlon scopes, and I’ve purchased many of them at full price because I genuinely believe in the quality and value they offer. The UHD glass is outstanding, with excellent sharpness, color, contrast, and edge-to-edge clarity. The image remains clear throughout the magnification range, making it much easier to spot impacts and read mirage at longer distances. In my experience, the Cronus holds its own against optics that cost considerably more. It is truly an alpha-tier optic, not simply a good scope for the money. The tracking has been accurate and repeatable every time I’ve dialed for distance. The zero stop is positive and dependable, allowing me to dial elevation for a long-range shot and return directly to my original zero with confidence. The turrets are crisp and tactile, and the entire scope feels like a serious precision optic. Overall, the Cronus BTR Gen2 is one of the best values in long-range optics. It delivers premium glass, dependable tracking, and the features I want on a dedicated long-range rifle. Athlon has earned my confidence, and this scope is a perfect example of why.

Solid glass, edge to edge clarity, Tactile turrets, by feel and sound, daylight bright illumination, and built like a tank.

I have used this for almost 6 months in a lot of competions. Return to zero and dialing has been accurate and easy. Great optical clarity. The lit reticle works great and is easy to zero the turrets. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality scope with a great warranty. It is a heavy scope but is well made and easy to use. The clarity above 27 power is not as good as as the lower magnification.

Great scope for the money. Better glass than my nightforce nx8

Very happy with purchase. Have a NightForce NX8 to compare against and the glass is almost just as clear. Very nice for the price point. Would definitely recommend to a friend and the scope is very user friendly. Reticle is good and the tracking is very good. I have the MIL version and the turret clicks are very positive and easy to hear. Can’t wait to take it out on my next prairie dog hunt. Great purchase and very happy with the scope.

This optic is clear and precise. This punches way above its cost. This is on an CZ MTR .22 and this never disappoints.

This scope is a high quality japanese made optic with glass on par with or better than similar options like the Razor. Turrets track very well and are consistent. They don't lock but this is a nice scope more for PRS. Reticle is clear, but is intended for use at higher magnification since the stadia are pretty thin. It's good for use with NRL22, my use, and on gas gun precision type competitions.

After shooting scopes with twice the price tag, I had the opportunity to play with the Athlon Chronus BTR. I was blown away by the clarity of the glass and tracking. I purchased this model scope for a 6 dasher build and believe it is hard to beat at any price.

This scope is amazing bang for the buck. I mounted this on a 6.5CM and used it to hit targets out to 1 mile. The glass clarity is excellent, and I have no problem spotting impacts on steel out to 1200 yards and I had no problem seeing my misses at 1 mile. It feels very well built and I appreciate the fine parallax adjustments, the clicky, tactile feedback of the turrets and resetting the zero and setting the zero stop is straightforward. It tracks well. This scope punches way above it's price point. Buy with confidence.

I have the Athlon Cronus Gen 2 mounted on my 6GT that I shoot out to 1000 yards and more. The glass quality has been perfect for my needs and the tactile turrets make feeling and hearing the clicks so much easier. The reticle has what I need and not a bunch of clutter. I don't know that I would be able to design a much better one myself.
