I received this as a holiday present, but returned it. I found the display too dim, the software too complicated and difficult to learn, and the size too bulky. Also, the GPS and mapping features are not necessary since they are a duplicate of what is already on my phone. The solar charging feature is not necessary for me and I believe it reduces the display visibilty. This watch is probably geared more for the ultra-endurance athlete (not me!)

I'm very active and am getting older (need reading glasses). This was a HUGE upgrade over my VivoActive! The size is perfect and within two weeks (was given to me on Christmas) I'm almost completely up to speed on operation! Great watch for what I need! I've been a Garmin user since the 1990s with the old E-Trex products! Garmin is a superior product and provide great service! Highly recommend any Garmin product over any other smart watch.

This is my second Garmin. Upgraded from the Forerunner 935 and this might be the best watch I've ever owned. Amazing features, but the one that I that I might like the most (that I didn't expect) is the flashlight. Would absolutely recommend this watch for anyone who cares about training stats or just an overall solid watch.

This watch has more features than I would ever use. But the quality, feel and functions on the Garmin are awesome. A great purchase!!!

Regarding features and function, this is a fantastic watch. I’ve worn an Instinct 2 for several years, and love it and the Garmin Connect environment. However, the visibility with the Sapphire glass was a show stopper for me and I returned the product. I do have some eyesight issues, so this may not affect everyone, but in have attached screenshots to compare the Fenix MIP display with Sapphire Solar glad to the “naked” MIP display on my Instinct2. Indoors with the backlight was fine , but the glare when outdoors was pretty bad.

I got it for Christmas from my wife and it’s great it’s an improvement from my fenix 3 it has way more apps that I can use and the maps are amazing. The solar works great it’s been charging with the sun and I haven’t charged I with the plug yet I would recommend it to anyone who’s wanting an upgrade

I’ve been using the Fēnix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar for almost a month. I upgraded from a 6S Pro Sapphire due to the battery just barely having enough juice to get through a 15 hour Ironman. First, the features on the 7 are a significant upgrade from the 6 line, and I enjoy having the training readiness, jet lag advisor, ECG, health snapshot, and more advanced running dynamics from my HRM Pro Plus. I was a little apprehensive about the large size, as my 6S was 42mm and the 7X is 51mm. My wrists are only 5.8 inches (14.7cm) around, so I was worried that the large watch would look like a wall clock strapped to my wrist and be uncomfortable to wear, especially at night. I have been pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it is and that it looks good too! So, if you too have child size wrists, this watch can work for you! And the battery is AMAZING! I skied all day with the GPS running, and the solar kept the watch from losing a lot charge at all. Even without a ton of solar exposure, the battery lasts more than a week with daily workouts. I’m sure it will handle my next Ironman like a champ!

Got this a couple weeks ago and I love all the biometrics and continuous monitoring. It was recommended to me by my bike pro and I love having it.

Great upgrade for me coming from the Fenix 5+ that has been my daily driver for a week shy of 5 years. What I noticed, battery is crazy. I made it 15 days exactly from 100% to watch died and that is with minimal sun and almost daily flashlight usage. Speaking of the flashlight, I don’t know if I can buy a watch without one now. I never use my phone light unless it’s too awkward to use my watch. I do wish Garmin would have come up with a different charge port because this was the only issue I had with my 5+, about year 3 it started to be a pain setting the watch just right to get the watch to charge. Hope that won’t be an issue in the future with this one. These watches are hard to replace due to the cost so I usually snag last year’s model around Black Friday. Highly recommended the Fenix series and I would never not buy the sapphire crystal, not sure what it is but my wrist seems to be attracted to door jambs among other things. Not a single scratch after 5 years of lots of running, biking, hiking, and hunting. This watch would be perfect if I could text from it. Oh and maybe play Apple Music, that would be a solid upgrade.

I was hesitant to make this purchase but got a great deal and I’m so glad it did it. If you are active and outdoors oriented this is the best watch you can own.
