SOG Parashears - Reviews

I’d like to place these shears in the same side pocket on my uniform pants my simple shears go in and I can’t, they get stuck on a clip on the side that isn’t even wide enough for my belt so I will never use it. I need a tool with a ring cutter on it. And the Phillips is 2d.

Solid build quality, material is not.pit metal, and versatility is exactly where I wanted it to be. Very happy with my purchase.

Use this in the field, the additional features are pretty unnecessary but the main purpose of the shears works wonders! They cut through aluminum, leather, and layered clothing! Iv used them on actual patients, and it gets the job done quick and simple. If you don’t want to spend hundreds on raptors, this is the same thing with a-bit more accessories that does the same exact thing for cheaper. I put mine through the test of my job in EMS, and they still are held together.

The shears work great. The case should be solid all the way around. I have had mine come out of the pouch several times. The tools are in an awkward position. The glass breaker should be on the end, would make aiming for a good break easier in an emergency.. I would give a better rating if the case wasn't so bad, the other tools are just extra.

Perfect for my First Aid Kit and I would recommend these to anyone. Very high quality and amazingly well designed.

I really want to love this pair of shears but the tools are not usable at all. Shears have performed as they should but the other tools are placed poorly. The glass break is almost unusable with the other tools being a waste. The strap cutter should be placed elsewhere on the tool to make it useable. The Leatherman Raptors are by far superior to SOGs version. I’ll be going back to them and throwing these is a drawer. Not to mention the cloth sheath didn’t make it a week and there are no replacements on the market!!!

Love these shears!!! Work in the hospital setting so the ability to survive sterilization is paramount! Great cutting force, and not only more tools than the Raptor but more relevant tools. I've had these for over 6 months now and the quality is great! Still cut like new. However, the holster that comes with the shears is less than stellar and there aren't many aftermarket options for carrying these shears. Unfortunately they are a little heavy to carry in a pocket... SOG, make a clip in holster for these!!!!!!

Have had theses for a few weeks and am pleasantly pleased. I hope that there longevity is as good as the performance. The power of the cut through performance is awesome.

The Parashears are a fantastic tool to add to a kit but not so much for carry. There is no decent holster as nobody wants to carry the shears open in that nylon sheath. It also has no pocket clip like the Leatherman Raptor. Add a decent holster (multiple attachment options) and a window breaker and it would be far better than the Raptor
