It’s a great knife with a great sheath. Super tough and strong, even well balanced. Sheath and mounting are easy and solid. Point of the knife was moderately sharp, but the edges couldn’t even cut paper… I was expecting a little more from SOG, when they proclaimed it excelled in slashing and thrusting. It’s a very near perfect knife in my opinion, except the edges of the knife are extremely dull. If the sides could catch a thumbnail or curl paper it would be the best knife I’ve ever owned, but since it’s basically a big glorified poker… I give it a 5.5/10. If SOG can figure a way to sharpen the sides and make them “slicey” like advertised I’ll take back my review, until that geometry is figured out… to actually make it combat worthy… my review stands.

The quality is top notch and the CPM S35VN is heat treated to perfection. I carry three of these knives, one for hard use and two for throwing.

Great knife. Just about every aspect is quality except for the finish that is easily rubbing off the exposed metal on the tang as well as hand guard/bolster area.

The quality of the knife for the price makes this a real deal! If you could improve the sharpening to the same level as Tops knives it would be a five.

The knife is very well made and feels very nice in my hand. I’ve seen people say the handle is a bit larger than they’d want but it’s perfect for me since I have slightly larger hands. I do like the sheath and clip that it comes with although it seems like they don’t sell the additional clip types they were advertising when they first released the clip system this uses. So you may only have the large clip and not be able to get the smaller clip or the belt clip without also buying the covert version of this knife.

The Pentagon FX is a beautiful knife. I absolutely love it. It is made very well and extremely sharp. I would trust this knife to go into battle if I had to. I plan to get the other pentagon fx flat dark earth knife as soon as the budget will allow it. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Bravo to SOG on this design! Thought was put into every aspect to make the pentagon fx-blackout suited for service. From the materials to the craftsmanship, this platform offers adaptability and stealth. I am thoroughly impressed by every detail especially the mounting bracket that solidly locks into molle to the dead silent release of the safety. Hands down this is a load-out must and my plate carrier is incomplete without this piece!
