Won't complain too much cause it only cost $20 so I shouldn't expect much, but this was not what I expected from SOG. It's not sharp, very cheap plastic, and the mechanism (open/close) is horrible.

I bought the SOG Flare at a large box hardware store yesterday. I compared it visually to some other knives there and bought it because it was "designed" in the USA. Unfortunately, that is the only plus to the knife. It opens poorly. The blade lock mechanism sticks. The handle is cheap plastic, and the worst feature any knife could have is that it is not sharp at all. I'm not impressed with my first purchase of SOG knives.

Light and sturdy, very good knife for daily activities

The Handle is made of plastic. Feels a bit flimsy.

This is a light weight and inexpensive knife! The SOG Flare is well worth what they cost.

Had one of these with the serrated blade for 4 or 5 years. Had to get rid of it at a large sporting event because of security. Bought this to replace it. Not as nice as the old one but still a great knife.

Well made, well thought out knife at a moderate price point. The lock to prevent it from opening, the opening assist and the side release on the handle to close the blade combine to make this tough, functional and safe. The handle is light weight, but I feel like it will last.

One of my favorite edc knives. I really like the light weight feel of the handle and the spring assist works great. I’m very happy with it and recommend it!

Priced right - looked good - a total failure!!! - This is the 1st time I have had to return a SOG knife; (NOTE: the return process was quick and easy. Thank you SOG.) As for the "Flare" knife, it was useless. Difficult to open or close. I purchased to open packages as needed. To use the knife required both hands, it was not as advertised...
