Page 4 of 5 - SOG SEAL XR Serrated - Reviews

Very nice knife with one major flaw. The knife locks closed. There is no reason for that. It makes opening the knife much more complicated.

A Brut of a Knife!! And now my new EDC. When a Fixed Blade is to much, but you need a knife that's made like a tank, you carry a SOG SEAL XR!! And the Serrated version is what I prefer. Sharp is an understatement. And when this knife is opened and locked in place, it is ready to go to work. As a retired Spec OP's Air Commando, my career called for the carrying of a reliable Blade. Knife making has come a long ways over the years, and it's to bad the SOG SEAL XR wasn't around when I was serving. I also use the SOG "Pillar" (I have two) for one of my Fixed Blade go to's.

Incredible knife! Solid, sharp, smooth! Everything a beast of a blade would need! Love this and price was right!

Great design, and a high-quality product, strongly recommended!

I think that it’s a great knife but it is too beefy for EDC

This is one of your finest choices for a military grade and mission oriented folding knife. Fine edge, good steel and strong. The best part is that it is USA made.

I removed my new knife from it's box, and the very first thing that I realized is... it is NOT for small people! This piece has HEFT! I like that It feels like a KNIFE, and not like the "knife" that I was issued when I was a Boy Scout! The finger grooves are a nice touch too. Good solid steel, with an edge that didn't take a lot of work in order to get it to MY specs. Carbon Fiber or G-10 scales would've been great, but this knife will be put to WORK, so the scales it came with make more sense. This knife appears to be more than adequate to take the punishment that I have in store for it, and will probably outlive me too, so I can pass it on to MY son as my father did for ME! Bravo Zulu, SOG!

What impressed me the most was the grip secondly the quality of the blade and the ease of opening the blade ….Great knife

XR is smooth, grip has really nice feel to it S35VN Rc.59-61 is perfect balance of edge retention and corrosion resistant and hardness. Excellent overall feel and balance for a larger folding knife.

Know which SOG you are carrying each and every time. Practice the drew and deploy. Seems that I have a SOG blade for every day of the week. Practice Practice Practice
