Page 2 of 5 - SOG TAC AU Black Straight Reviews

Great knife. Light weight balanced and great edge.

I have been very happy with the straight edge knife to this point. I am somewhat troubled with the fact that I can't get my warranty knife replaced in a timely manner and there have been no smaller automatic knives on your site the last time I looked. I know that you can't control the supplier of the knives but I have looked on other sites and they have both knives. Just putting that out there for you. I would purchase the smaller knife when and if it becomes available. Thanks dave

Great balance, well done. Recommend for sure. Good buy.

Love it! Light weight and great qaulity! Will return!

I have a pretty respectable collection of SOG knives that even includes an older SOG TAC Auto so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Even so, this one ushers in a new age of quality and design. American made is a huge factor — you know it is. But the lines are perfect, the design is tight, and the textured handle falls right on this side of too much, right before “give me more.” My hats off to whomever sharpened this one prior to shipping — suffice it to say, you couldn’t ask for much more.

The release mechanism is very stiff and difficult to operate.

Knife is easy opening and well built. Pocket clip is tight and fits snugly. Blade release actually has a lock integrated to the release. Quality knife.

SOG has always provided me with excellent devices and this knife is the epitome of excellence. The blade has an incredible edge and the handle provides adaptability and stability. The hands free mechanism is not quite as powerful as the older models, but we’ll hope break in will resolve this minor issue.

Favorite daily knife I’ve ever owned! Super sharp and the opening action is very smooth and strong. Clip takes a few days to loosen up to be able to slide onto pockets easier.

The knife is extra sharp due to cryogenically treated.. the action is great and the release is a little stiff.
