Cold Steel Espada XL G-10 Reviews

I purchased this knife months ago and love it, except one little detail caught me when I pulled knife from package and felt it may be worth mentioning. It’s predrilled and inset on either side of handle for switching the pocket clip from left to right. I feel that there should be a button or emblem installed into the unused side. It’s kinda an eye sore and everyone I’ve shown the knife to all rub their thumb in the empty spot.

A gift from my wife. Lord this thing is a beast! CS's version on the Navaja. Cuts like butter! Though as nails! Yep!

Worth it!!! And then some Been looking at the XL Espada for over a decade! I have had the medium Espada for 13 years now, for those who remember, it’s the 6160 aluminum handle one. That knife is truly tiny compared to this one haha! I love the grey g10 and how it looks with the black blade. Stoked to have this knife! Too bad I waited so long to buy one. Don’t be like me…if you’re wanting one then buy one, wish I would have all those years ago!

Amazing nice, arrived very sharp, exactly what I anticipated given the descriptions on this website and others; very durable, quality steel, well balanced etc.... it is a well made folding knife. This knife just happens to be very large, which is one reason i bought it. I will say, i am overall very impressed and satisfied, i would consider buying other unique folders from cold steel, should they ever be released. I do find the knife difficult to deploy and it requires a great deal of strength to close once more with just your thumb. It is a two handed closer, for certain. With my work gloves on (i use this bad boy like a spade in the garden) its much easier to retract and deploy. Perhaps larger hands are required for a larger knife? I am not certain, but this is my only knock to it being an EDC. I do enjoy a quick deploy and recovery on something i use everyday. This knife comes across as a weapon or a very specific tool in your kit. I have found a use for it, and I adore using it.

I havent put the Espada to use yet. Ive always wanted one, so when it went on sale I grabbed it! The size is quite impressive!

Basically a folding Bowie with multiple handle positions. It says not to chop with it, but the handle feel makes it tempting. A little difficult to close, but once you feel the trick, it's easy enough.
