This is a fantastic stock to get your length of pull and comb hight where you need it for your defensive shotgun. Most shotguns have a length of pull that is far too long unless you are out duck hunting. With a defensive shotgun you "square" up to the gun, moving the butt closer to the centerline of your body, away from the pocket of your shoulder. With a typical factory length of pull around 14"-14.5" you can't do it, and recoil management suffers. I had the factory stock cut down and a new recoil pad added, but the comb height was way too short for my intended purpose. Adding this Magpul stock helps in properly mounting the gun and your shoulder will thank you after a day of training with 00 Buck and slugs. The quality of the stock is excellent. Adjusting the length of pull, comb height and adding QD sling attachments is simple. I started out with one of my Remington 870 shotguns, with the intent to make the "perfect" Turkey hunting shotgun. As I progressed I decided to make a "do everything" except shoot ducks, geese and doves shotgun. I wanted something that I could grab and go and use for predator control, home defense, turkey, and deer hunting...if I wanted to use a slug. Game specific choke tubes and a 18.5" barrel were the first to go on, but the factory stock that I had would not give me the proper cheek weld to use an Eotech HWS. I spent 31 years in the Army and am very familiar/comfortable with the Eotech. Are there better/smaller optics for an all around shotgun? Absolutely. But After mounting a Leupold Deltapoint Pro, I just wanted the Eotech. Then I added an extended magazine tube so I have 7+1 for predator control and home defense. After doing patterning and zeroing I wrapped the gun in Mossy Oak Obsession....it was, after all going to be a turkey gun. I had an exrtra TLR-1 laying around and added that for a tactical light. Are there "better" off the shelf options for an all around shotgun? Yes. But I am very familiar with the 870 platform and have 12-15 of them, so it was a no-brainer to do this little project. It is "perfect" for me. I am going to add another one of these stocks to another 870 with a fully rifled barrel for deer hunting use in an area that only allows shotguns. Fantastic product!

The stock I ordered fit perfectly and was easy to install. LOP spacers are easily able to be inserted and/or removed for ideal fit. Highly recommend!

Magpul has been and is a trusted name in firearms manufacturering. A long standing commitment to innovation and design. The stock for RSG is a bit on the heavy side, but is perfect for the adjustable lenght and comb height options. My preference is very short pull and low comb. My preferences have been met. I would like to see the RSG stocks available in an ODG. Peace out.
