Okay, I REALLY like this one! I have a bunch of Daisy air guns including a late '40s Red Ryder. Back in the early '70s when I was about 10 years old, I really wanted an 880. I never got one due to that whole "You'll shoot your eye out, kid" thing. Fair enough. As an adult, I have more than made up for lost time by buying all sorts of air guns except the 880 which slipped under the radar for some reason. I had forgotten how nice this thing shoots. Sure, there's more plastic than the '70s vintage ones my friends had back in the day, but you know what? It shoots just as well, if not better! I was originally put off by the fact that you need to pull back the bolt before pumping it up, but that took about 5 minutes to get used to and now I actually prefer it. Shoots straight. Hasn't malfunctioned once after more than a few hundred BBs fired. Highly recommended!

I shoot only Daisy Match Grade steel BBs through mine. Why? Because they're easier to load than pellets, they require less cleaning, and they are surprisingly accurate. Also, I use SAE 20 weight non-detergent motor oil for the piston lube, which is sort of a Daisy thing.

Use lead pellets for best accuracy and I would recommend a Red Dot Or Reflex Sight be used Instead of relying on open sights!

Excellent rifle ! I'd prefer a wood option...but those days are over. It is VERY accurate, I clean mine, and only use pellets in it, it's Fast (FPS), pellets hit quick, Mine LOVES RWS Hobby Flats-Wadcutters. Instant results on Red Squirrels for me, I only take Head shots, so, yes ,I miss, but not often! I do 10 pumps, clean/oil regularly. The sights needed very minimal adjustment and It's been dead on for 3 yrs now. I don't find it loud, it's got a satisfying pop when fired. It's much more consistent in power/accuracy than my CR 766...It's really my go-to rifle when the critters are being naughty. I have other rifles, but with HPA and CO2, sometimes this is the speedy option. I bought another for Camp and the kids take it out all day, give 'em a handful of pellets, and teach 'em to conserve ammo, and take good shots. My girl even likes it, and she's not really a 'gun' person, but she loves to shoot cans and ice cubes! Great gun, I was always a Crosman lover...but the 880 is a winner!

Maybe offer it in a wood stock/forearm option, with improved sights, Charge us for it, We'll love it and it'll sell out !

Mine did not like the Gold 'Raptor Pellets'...not sure why, too light maybe, but they were always consistently shooting high, the wind seemed to have an effect as well on them. It's fine though, and I found that Flat nose pellets did best. I didn't try some of the 'slug type' pellets out there yet, but I'd guess they'd be great, more rifling contact due to long-skirt/body. Enjoy this rifle, it's great and has lasted and been great!

Easy to pump. Sights work perfectly. Me and my son love using the 880 for plinking. We just use the Crosman 7.9gr hollowpoints as their cost friendly and accurate. We only shoot at a max 20 yards since this is a pump airgun and easily hit small cans, etc. This airgun definitely has more than enough energy to take pests like rats, squirrels and rabbits if need be.

For a fifty-dollar gun it is surprisingly well made. It handles well and points quickly. The gun has great accuracy with any pellet I tried. I put a red dot scope on it, and it will outshoot the Umarex Fusion 2 I bought by a huge margin. Even with 6 pumps the gun shoots hard. I also bought a Buck Rail suppressor for it and made it even more quiet than it already was.

The pellets will fall into the bb feed hole. Maybe if they designed it as an only pellet or even if they could put a pellet magazine like the older Crosman 760 had. I think they should offer a limited run of real wood stocks as well.

If you shoot pellets then push the bolt forward about 1/8 of an inch and it well help prevent pellets from falling into the BB feed tube. Overall this is a great gun.
