Dan Wesson 715 6" Pellet Steel Grey Reviews

The weight just like a fire arm. Also accuracy.
Have it come with BB shells also.
This is a very, very accurate pistol. I use Crosman Destroyers @7.9gr. At 8 yards I shoot dime size groups. I can't believe the power and accuracy, if I hadn't shot it myself. Just for kicks I always max out a guns potential. This pistol can hit the bottom of a coke can at 25 yrds all day. I do use a tripod while I am sitting resting the gun on it.
I get about 48 good shots out of one Co2.
This gun also shoots the BB shells from the SNR357 and is just as accurate, using the Excite copper coated lead BB's
This is actually a revolver with Dan Wesson name that actually replicates a real Dan Wesson revolver. Currently PA has 20 CO2 revolvers listed as "DAN WESSON" but only 6 of those are actual replicas of DW revolvers. REAL DW revolvers have the cylinder release latch in front of the cylinder, not above the grip. You can't 'practice' for using a REAL DW revolver with the ones that are 'incorrectly' described. The DW revolvers with '715' in the name are the only real replicas.
Quit the false description and specs. This is NOT a 6 inch barrel. The barrel is 2 5/8 inches. The part of the gun that replicates the 'shroud' is the only thing that is 6 inches. ? This gun will NOT come close to the advertised specs of 430 fps, with any pellet.
I watched numerous video reviews of this DW 715 6 inch barrel before I purchased. The gun with actual (early?) 6 inch barrel gun ran the 5.71 green pellets at 500+ fps
This gun, with 'incorrect' description runs the 5.71 green pellet at 313 fps. The generic 7.0 grain pellets run 274 - 297 fps. The stated 430 fps is FALSE!
The gun is somewhat accurate, but only at 7 - 12 feet. Anything past that, depending on pellet, the groups open up wildly. This is based on the ACTUAL velocities, vs the stated FALSE velocities.
The reviews with real 6 inch gun did accuracy tests at 10 yards! Don't bother with this gun.
Yes, I have tested numerous times and with new CO2 cartridges.

With the atrocious heavy single action trigger pull, I suppose this revolver will make a decent looking paper weight on my desk.
The atrocious heavy single action trigger.
This would be an excellent pistol if the single action trigger was anywhere close to a decent pull weight. As it is it is a very hard and tuff trigger pull. This ruins the overall experience with this pistol and puts it in the replica look at only category , not any type of functional category.
The 715s are extremely nicely made. This is the fourth one I own in various finishes and barrel links.
I had to return the first two because they barely kept on the paper let alone group. The third one is performing quite nicely.
But here's the rub, their customer service takes the stance that if they annoy you enough you'll go away. So be aware if you don't like conflict you should purchase elsewhere.
Feels close to actual firearm. Good weight. I like the realistic cartridges
Make it a pump. I HATE CO2
Its pretty good but for amout $150 there are better choices available
it looks good and hold and mechanics are very good , But
PUT A FULL RIFLE BARREL IN IT !
has a 2.5 rifle barrel . I put a rail mount on it and red dot with that accuracy was way better .
Design for sure.
Quality.
Do not purchase refurbished products from pyramyd air. Cuz it not refurbished all they do send u broken gun that someoneelse returns.at list it was my experience unfortunately.
Looks cool
The cylinder doesnt line up with the barrel and it shreds pellets. See comment below. Mine came from Airgun Depot (same difference).
Do not buy this revolver. As I said, the cylinder doesn’t line up with the barrel. On single action I can pull back the hammer and the shells prevent the cylinder from rotating fully into position. I have to turn it a little more manually (with my hand) to line up the cylinder with the barrel. Then it fires ok. Double action, forget it. The pellets get shredded or jam the gun. It does this only with shells in it. No shells and the cylinder works fine. It’s like the rubber piece inside rubs the shells too hard and prevents the cylinder from turning all the way. Has to be a manufacturing defect. It does this with the included shells so it’s not an after market shell issue. I included a photo of what it does to pellets. Also, you have to decide if you want this as a pellet gun or dart gun. Even the dart description says they are for smooth barrel guns only. This gun has a rifled barrel and the darts and steel bbs will destroy the rifling.

Everything
Handgrip must have more color options.
Everything is superb.Everything is metal.Lots of power.Handgrip is rubberized.
When I ordered this Barra pistol I had to wait 8 months, it was out of stock, and as far as I'm concerned it was worth the wait. I had other pistols in the collection and didn't need it right away. I have a Dan Wesson revolver and one thing I like about this revolver is the cylinder release. Instead of the release behind the cylinder (closer to the trigger like a S&W) this pistol has it in front (like a Dan Wesson). That is the reason I waited, I wanted an actual DW setup. It weighs about the same as a DW. Has an adjustable rear sight. The finish is excellent. The grip fits perfectly in the hand and the ventilated rib completes the package.
When I first saw the speed loader I was going to throw it way. I'm glad I didn't, it works purdy good.

The weight and feel of the pistol is superb. It mimics a firearm in in every sense.
I have found that the accuracy at 10 and 20 yards is poor. The sight elevation adjustment is difficult. I found the sights difficult to see and painted them with bright colors. I also found you can cause a cylinder cycle timing jam by de cockng the hammer.
The power is acceptable but falls off after 100 pellets.
