Powerful power plant, well-built, synthetic stock would be bulletproof in the field (against wet leaves, moss, etc.). The scope it comes with isn’t bad.

Come up with a different means of holding the suppressor in, instead of the two curled pins. It would be nice if it were quieter, and just a little less recoil. Aside from that, I think it’s really excellent.

Here’s a tip I learned from Dr. Russ’ Airgun channel on YT: you don’t have to remove suppressors on these in order to clean the barrel: you just need to get a straw from McDonald’s - place it in the suppressor side, and you will be able to guide your cleaning patches through! Without having to worry about the cleaning patches getting stuck in the suppressor baffles.

Please don't get mad at me. I bought a refurbished rifle from gamousa web page . I needed a rifle in .177 cal to use up ammo from my first go to rifle . I couldn't believe the amount of power it has and balance for for a long gun. It's devastating on soup cans at 50 ft.

Scope mounts. The rifle has I had purchased has a single one piece scope mount, not two . Unable to use open sights with scope mount. I would like to use a riser but it would not work.

I couldn't beat the price ( 186 usd total ) and the manufacturer carrying spare parts for repairs and upgrades is a blessing!

My neighbor has this rifle in 22 caliber and I have shot it probably more than he has.. I am thinking hard about getting this one in .177 caliber. I am 75 and I do not find it excessively hard to cock. I have a .22 caliber Gamo Magnum GR and that one is MUCH harder to cock and much louder too. His gun will shoot dime sized groups at 30 yards. The rifle is reasonably light weight. As for scopes, I would put a Hammers 3-9x40 AO Mil Dot on it. That scope has held up well on my Gamo Magnum GR. Gamo's recoil reducing rail works provided the scope is mounted properly. A Diana Bullseye ZR scope mount works the best. This rifle is balanced well and naturally points. Gamo's guns are a little lighter weight than the competition, has in Hatsan and Crosman, I know because I have those too. This rifle is not the equal of a German made gun. The quality of this rifle meets its price point. I was impressed with this rifle. It is as quiet as my Crosman Diamondback that is rated at #2 noise level.

The trigger breaks at 3 pounds as shipped. That is fine for me. If that is too much for you then trigger pull can be addressed, if need be ,with aftermarket solutions..

I like the fact that this rifle has barrel mounted open sights as well as a scope rail. The Magazine version of this rifle is scope only. Pyramidair does a good job of standing behind their products. I have bought at least six or more air rifles from them over many years and any problems got Fixed.

Vortek now sales piston seal for the Gamo Magnum.

Best break barrel .22 multi shot rifle out there; I have at least 100 different variations of air rifles in all different calibers and I go to this one when I need to make a very tough shot; Gamo air guns are great

A little quieter if that’s even possible

Multi-shot comes in handy when hunting; a younger person may have a hard time breaking the barrel but for me 6’ 240 lbs no problem

Julio Nov 23, 2023

This is not a multi shot rifle this is a single shot rifle. What are you talking about?

Bob Nov 18, 2023

This review goes with another Gamo rifle - This rifle is a single shot.

Edward Nov 08, 2023

Multi shot?

Best fixed sights I've seen on a pellet rifle. Balance and weight perfect.

Cocking effort reduced.

Gary May 26, 2023

I'm 72 and that cocking effort is a wake up call. Not as bad as my 14 year old grandson trying to cock (painfull to watch). Good review

It shoots ok and it's not so loud. I have the .22 version and it shoots the Crosman round nose 14.3g pellets really well, what's not to like about that. It's a solid 20 ft/lb class pellet rifle.

It's a little rough on the mold seems of the stock. I took a sharp knife and cut those more like you want to fit your hand. That scope that is boxed with this rifle is nothing more than an insult plain and simple. Then, the effort it takes to cock this rifle, it should be a legit 30 ft/lb class pellet rifle. There is also the issue of cleaning the barrel. I have had trouble with the baffles catching strings from the patches I push through the barrel. The strings get caught where the two halfs of the baffle system fit together. More of the rough seams of the molding. Once the strings are snagged in the baffle area, you can't remove them. I tried blowing them out with air compressor, twisting a .22 cal bore brush just in the muzzle end in hopes of snagging the strings of the patch. I have used a high quality pair of tweezers to latch on and pull them out, all to no avail. Not made to remove and take apart, so you can't go there either. Not sure how you clean the barrel

It's a heavy rifle and it is extremely hard to cock. The barrel bore gets extremely nasty as you shoot it, I like to patch mine till they are clean. Unfortunately I don't recommend it because of issues in the baffle assembly you can't fix.

No brass, copper or any other metal brushes goes in the bore of any pellet rifle or rimfire of mine, ever. This barrel with the baffle setup is a problem to clean.
Then your scope mounts and rings need to really be tight as everything moves towards the rear of the rifle if not.
Should get yourself a 20moa mount for this rifle also.
When I mounted the new scope I bought, I put a .02" shim under the rear scope ring and my point of impact only needed a small adjustment left to sight in this rifle at 50 feet. Leaving all of my elevation adjustment to shoot with.

If you get stuff stuck in the baffles gamo has the replacement parts you can replace it your self. Go to the manufacturer website to get spare parts .

Justin Aug 31, 2025

there are holes with pins to attach the moderator, if you have a punch, you can remove them and fix that problem very easily

Michael Oct 25, 2023

It is not heavy nor is it hard to cock. I am 63 and not strong - it takes effort. I can't spend a long time shooting targets, but this is a hunting weapon. The big H&Ns - like the heaviest ones made, bury into a 2x4 so deep I can't see them. Got it setup and started taking games.

Get around the baffle problem by putting a drinking straw down the muzzle until it butts against the end of the barrel. Then thread your cleaning device through it. I use a Patch Worm, works great. Before I figured this out I had to cut the tip of the muzzle off my Umarex Notos to get out the cleaning patches I'd gotten stuck in it! :)

Everything the feel, the effort to cock, the accuracy and the quietness matched with how hard it hits

It would be perfect if it had the 10rd mag

You get what you pay for I think its worth it even enough to write a review

You are absolutely Correct Kenneth. I actually bought the Whisper fusion by mistake. I was thinking it did have the rotory clip. When I openned the box, I discovered it was single shot. Still, it turned out to be my favorite Gamo pellet rifle. I just ordered the Gen 3i Bone Collector, which is The Wisper Fusion Mach 1 with the rotory clip, and wooden stock. I like wooden stocks. I think the Bone Collector Gen 3i is going to be my new favorite pellet rifle.

I opted for the .22 cal. . I liked that I was able to email Pyramid air for specific info before my purchase. The rifle was spot on, sighted in with the fiber optic sights, right out of the box. The trigger pull is very smooth. The noise level was a little better than what I expected. The rifle is sturdy and well built. Balanced. I like where the safety is located. I am having a ball shooting this! It is a good looking rifle. I expect this rifle to last long enough to be handed down to my grandchildren.

The weak point is the scope, but at this price point, it makes sense. Note that the directions do not tell you to take the scope out of the rings and mount those first as there is a set screw that needs to be tightened into the gun rail system that can only be accessed that way, before the scope is completely mounted . It takes some effort to cock the rifle. After 15 rounds I had a sore shoulder. It would be nice to have an upgraded scope available, but again that is where Pyramid Air comes in. But, This rifle has great sights, and the scope is not really needed.

See above for additional info on mounting the scope. I believe that may save some scopes from self destruction after 15 shots. Not all pellets are created equally and I had to go thru several before I found one that provided consistent accuracy for this particular rifle, at the range I will be doing most of my plinking.(40 yards and in) I started out thinking I had a scope problem and I actually had a pellet problem. I had the best luck with Crossman Premier 14.3 gr domed hollow points.

This rifle has great balance. Cocking is very smooth as is returning it to the firing position. The lock up feels solid and secure. I did not think I would ever be able to say this, but I have observed the accuracy of this rifle as being just as good as my Weihrauch HW50 S. It is that good. I am a big fan of the UTG Bug Buster scope and have one on my Gamo and HW50S. Yes, I took off the Gamo Scope that came on the rifle and mounted it on my Gamo Silent Cat. Zeroing the Bug Buster scope, I covered my last 5 shots with a dime at 20 yards. Another thing that I like is this rifle, like my HW50S, loves Crosman Premium Pellets..in this case the 10.5 grain domed ultra magnum. I was told when I called to order this rifle that the Crosman 7.9 grain pellets that I have plenty of would go supersonic. Being a hard head, I had to give it a try off my back porch. It did go supersonic and I immediately went back in my house so my neighbors would not see me if they looked for the source.

As much as I like this rifle I will say that advertising that it takes 32lbs of effort to cock it is misleading. I am guessing that it is closer to 40. Having said that, I am 75 years old and can cock it the first 10 or so shots. After that it takes both arms. I have only fired from a sitting position so I do not know how hard it will be from a standing position when going after crows and squirrels.

This rifle is unbelievably quiet when firing the 10.5 pellets. My firing position is just a few feet away from a Ring camera. Playing back the footage confirmed that the sound a pellet makes hitting my metal target trap at 20 yards is much louder than the sound the rifle makes in firing. This rifle is also very powerful. I fired into a left over deck board and the pellet penetrated 3/8 to 1/2 inch. While I cannot cock and fire this rifle for an hour or so like I can my HW50S, I can manage about 30 minutes before my arms tire. I think this rifle is easily worth the selling price. I love this rifle,

Phil Aug 09, 2022

I should have stated that I purchased the .177 rifle. Also, has anyone used a chronograph to determine the fps of a 10.5 pellet?
