Seneca Eagle Claw Carbine Reviews

I bought the 25 cal. Carbine Edition: Gorgeous gun! I found a couple of very minor nicks here and there on the finish, but I'm sure I'm going to add a LOT of wear and tear on this gun, so this isn't an issue to me. The number one thing I like is the smooth and solid lever action--come on, this should be a popular loading feature on a lot more guns out there, it is so freaking cool, you will almost certainly burn through a few magazines before you even begin to start sighting this thing in. The quick disconnect built into the gun makes filling and refilling SUPER EASY, I wish everyone made guns this way. The variable power is really nice for those times you just want to unload rapidly on a close target. In these instances, it's great to be able to drop the power, allowing you to increase the number of shots per charge.
This gun's overall design and function is BEGGING for peep sights. It's a shame you have to mount peep sights closely together on the one built-in rail. I would like to see an option to buy a true Eagle Claw peep sight set. I bought a set of pop-up peeps, and they're pretty useful, but it would sure be nice to have the front sight far down the barrel for added accuracy. I'm submitting a pic with the peeps on the rail.
I fill the gun with a hand pump--which is a GOOD workout. If you use a hand pump, be sure you RAPIDLY bleed the pump. This gun likes to leak a lot of your hard work if you even remotely screw around with the bleed valve--No Kidding, Open the bleed valve on your pump as Fast as You Can to keep as much air as possible in the gun.
Also, the manual says to NEVER leave the magnetic dustcap off of the quick disconnect, except when filling the gun. This sounds like great advice to me, except... my gun came without one. I'm sure it's tiny and can be overlooked when unpacking, but I went though the entire box and even dismantled the packaging in my vain attempt to locate it. I've contacted PyramydAir and in the meantime, I'm using a spare female QD as a temporary fix.
Noise: At the highest power setting, this gun seems to be right at the breaking point of backyard friendly, so if you don't have an acre of land, you may need to use a lower power setting.
Good power. Large air tank. Compact size. Nice stock. Quiet enough.
Needs open sights to be a design feature. There is a design flaw----- I ordered 3 of these; 2 were refurb's. One was new. There is a variable power wheel on the belly of the gun. It gets jammed in the high power position. This happened 3 times, on all 3 guns, within one month. Gun will be returned. Pity........I really like this Seneca Eagle Claw .25 cal.
Avoid this model.

I haven't tested my new rifle for accuracy yet, Too much snow in my yard. But the rifle, I'm a 70 year old airgun lover who recalls the rifles of my youth. A wood stock and blued barrels. All these new rifles made of plastic, although very good guns, don't do much for me. I have 4 Seneca rifles. I have a Dragon Claw gen 2, a dual tank Recluse, power tuned by Will Piatt (RIP Will). A pristine single tank Recluse CAP tuned. now this Eagle Claw. I also own a FX Crown, power tuned by Utah Airguns. I thought my other Seneca rifles looked good but this Eagle Claw is off the charts. Heirloom quality. Beautiful wood stock and deeply blued air tank. I ordered the 10 for $10 test. I don't know any reason why anybody wouldn't go for this option. The first thing I did after reading the owners manual was check the results of the test. The ad said it gets 70 FPE. Yeah right. But the second shot tested went 1000 fps and 75 fpe! The 10th shot was 69. And that's using a 34 grain pellet.
Not much, it's a little heavy for these 70 year old arms, and make it easier to cock. This new one is easier but I still can't fan the lever like Chuck Connors, aka, the Rifleman. Ask your dad. I bought one of these Eagle Claws 3 years ago but I couldn't cock it, Pyramyd gladly accepted my return. The air tank was blued, but not the barrel. Why not? What sold me to buy this gun again was the reviews, and watching Tyler playing his like an air guitar. The mags are a little funny, unlike any mag I've seen, but they'll do just fine. The mags on a Hatsan Neutron Star and an Avenger are alike but they load opposite.
I'll wait until I get my targets set up when the snow melts to get an accuracy rating. But from what I've seen on the reviews I don't think I'll be doing any complaining.
Really well made gun, chambering the next round on the lever action is smooth as butter and it packs one heck of a punch. Accurate to a dime and I love that I can practically make a follow up shot without taking my eye off the scope.
I wish it came with a single shot tray and had a shot count on the magazine (quick fix wish a sharpie though)
Either count your shots well or sharpie numbers on the mags, really easy to waste air on an empty barrel

This thing is freakin awsome. I've got a Gamo pellet gun and I thought it was a good gun but it's nothing like this thing. It is dead on every time. Cranked half way up it'll put a pellet through a half inch plywood. I've got a night vision scope on it and have been hunting fox with it. I just love this gun.
Other then being very heavy I don't know of anything else I'd change.

It's very powerful 22 caliber once you dial in your scop e the rifle is extremely accurate. And I love the lever action.
Making it allot lighter
Nothing
This rifle has power. The power adjuster is also a nice feature if you are just shooting cans or targets and dont need high power. The lever action is so smooth that you dont even need to take your eye off your target. Magazines are easy to load as it clicks into place each time you wind it to put in another pellet. The wood stock is nicely crafted and very comfortable.
Would be nice to have a rail for a bipod and sling mounts. Also a larger capacity magazine.
The Eagle Claw is a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Once you pick it up and start shooting, its hard to put down. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a high end rifle.
Fit and finish are of good quality. Lever action is smooth and cycles mags well. Extremely accurate and the sound is beyond quiet. Very backyard friendly. Also shoots pellets and slugs with equal accuracy
Maybe make the pressure gauge/#'s a hair larger . But that's probably my eyes. Also as it is a bit heavy sling mounts would be a happy add on
It's kinda tough getting that first fill up, but after that it's a breeze. I shoot 2 clips (16 shots) and it takes roughly 35 pumps with my MK5 to fill back up. Not to bad at all. I would highly recommend this rifle!!
Very nice design and finish of the stock good checkering in the right places adds to the visual appeal of this carbine, it just feels right in my hands. Good smooth lever action, easy to load and change clips. Very accurate, as I was sighting it in I found that it repeatedly put several pellets in the same hole. The carbine is easy to handle and accurate from an off hand or a kneeling position due to the good balance it has. I am very happy with my Eagle Claw carbine.
Maybe a shorter barrel shroud with a different baffle configuration to make it easier to maneuver in dense forest areas. I got the carbine because it is more compact than the rifle but it still feels a bit long in tight areas despite its good balance.
If you want a good lever action pcp airgun this is probably the most versatile option, it's very accurate, hits hard, has great balance and it just feels good in my hands.

Excellent overall rifle. Very accurate, well made, smooth action and magazines with great accuracy to boot! Oh...and it's adjustable power output is very nice...
Not too impressed with the checkering on the stock. The checkering is fragile.
If you have trouble when bleeding line after refilling...hold it nose down and bleed quickly. Action needs a few hundred rounds to loosen up.
