Umarex M3 Grease Gun Reviews

I love the weight it feels real. Also I love the 60 round clip. I have several automatic rifles and this is my favorite. It’s true fun with a little kick and honestly Umarex makes some really great and fun guns. I used to have a full shooting range in my grandmas back yard. She used to come and plink for hours with me and at 87 she was a helluva great shot. I prayed and hoped that someday someone would make a grease gun BB gun and then I saw it. I preordered one and then waited for it to come. It took a few months but when it came oh yeah it was on. I go every once in awhile out to open fields and set up and plink. It’s a great gun it’s also amazing for nonlethal home defense.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

It’s heavy but really simple to use. The 60 round clip makes for a fun plinking session you don’t have to refill as fast. Same evenings auto mode.

Authenticity and Operation. It's heavy which is good. Mine seems quite accurate out of the box.

Nothing about the gun BUT I have noticed the Legends line of guns, I have 6 now, come bone dry from the factory. why no oil Umarex? These are machines with moving parts. I use a high grade gun oil before I use these and it makes a difference. Silicon oil also used on the C02 cartridges and any air ports as well.

Great for discouraging deer from eating everything around your house.

The hing for the dust cover gets in the way of the front sight but with practice its easy to overcome nice little machine gun

May want to get a sling it's a little heavy

It is a VERY close copy of an M3A1. I would urge EXTREME caution if approached by police. It could get you shot full of real holes and killwd graveyard dead if you're not careful. The magazine was fairly easy to load. I had no trouble puncturing both CO2 cartridges. It burns through a magazine of BB's quickly. It chews up aluminum cans quite handily.

I would like to see a higher muzzle velocity. 450 fps is quite anemic for anything other than paper punching or rolling cans around. A cheap plastic tube for a barrel? Get real, it needs to get an inexpensive steel tube replacement.

Get a sling. This thing is HEAVY! I'd guess it is close to the weight of the original. Get an extra magazine. The fun only lasts as long as there are BB's in the magazine. Get pellgun oil for lubrication and silicone spray to coat the BB's with.

Looks and feels real. Weighs within a pound of the real thing. Shoots with about the same cyclic rate as the real thing. Lot of gun for the money. Fun, fun, fun!

Make it not be able to shoot with the safety cover down. Put the auto, semi, safe selector in a more appropriate place.

Copper plated BBs are not reliable feeders. The Steel BBs work great.

Everything....this gun is great fun to shoot, the perfect compliment to my previously purchased MP40. It has a solid "real feel" to it....love it!

The weight and build quality

Point of aim/impact. Mine shoots very high and left. I'm brainstorming ways to modify the sights (which are not adjustable).

Functions/feeds great and looks awesome.

It's a Grease Gun! It looks great and shoots great. It seemed to get great "gas mileage", but we were shooting on a very hot day, 94 F. It is not as easy to hit with as the Thompson M1 A1, but that may just be the sights. The gun itself seems to shoot straight. All in all, it's a lot of fun to shoot.

I had one failure to puncture both cylinders and then remembered to put a little oil on the threads to make it easier to tighten the plug. No more problems after that. I shoot Daisy steel BBs. The Daisy BBs are zinc plated so they don't rust but the zinc slowly oxidizes and the dull finish seems to cause feed issues. I just dump the new, still shiny BBs into a larger container, give a quick spritz with silicone oil, screw on the lid and tumble them around until they are all lightly coated. Zero feed issues with the M3 so far.

The looks, feel and operation are realistic.

The gun would fire several shots then stop. I found that the second CO2 cylinder wasn’t punctured by the end plug. I added a thick washer between the two cylinders and the gun operates perfectly.

Buy large quantities of BBs and CO2 cylinders.

Very accurate presentation. Similar in size and weight. Some deviations that are necessary and don't detract from the whole. Shoots well. Goes through 60 BB's very fast.

There is a problem piercing both cartridges (using Crossman). Solved the problem by dropping a steel washer on to the base of top cartridge.
