Be careful, At 15 yards a ricochet can still shatter your neighbors glass door 25 yards farther back.
Battery charges up to full, from empty, in about one hour - and that's right out of the box. QUIET! Not *silent* but VERY little sound when firing. If it were not for the sunlight on the bb's, as they flew through the air, I was unsure on several occasions if it had actually fired anything - the sound is soft and weak, almost like a misfire (on a normal bb gun.) Absolutely shreds anything made of paper or cardboard on the far end - targets just sort of disappear, after a few magazines of firing. Extremely solidly made, very little plastic.
Either include an extra magazine or make them easier to load. HEAVY, esp. barrel-heavy, business end always wants to pull downwards FAR more than any other air gun that I own, including my Air Ordinance full auto .22 belt fed! It feels unnatural, with the barrel end always pulling down noticeably (and annoyingly.) You'll spend 2x-5x more time cursing at the so-called "speed loader" than you will firing (i.e. having fun.) It is LITERALLY (i.e. no hyperbole, no joking, no exaggerations AT ALL) faster to load bb's one by one - such as by pushing them into the magazine opening by hand & ramming them past the retaining pin with a small rod or a ball point pen - than it is to use the so-called "speed loader" ... which is why I keep using the words "so-called" every time I mention it, and put the words "speed loader" in quotes! It is a piece of trash that absolutely does NOT do the job it is designed for, unless the entire operation from start to finish is done extremely slowly.

My Berra 400e truly shines - once the magazine is loaded and inserted.
Getting it to that point, though, can be absolutely insanity-provoking & takes most of the fun out of using this bb gun.
I regret ever buying this expensive TOY; and the only reason I have not sent it back for a full refund is because I have machine shop experience & I want to see if I can come up with a better, faster, and higher capacity feed mechanism, myself.
The magazine and the so-called "speed loader" that this comes with, standard, are a complete vexation on the soul.
OTHER than that, it is AMAZING!

I got this gun 5 months ago. Build quality seems really good, I have the brown metal version. Other than having a good build the gun sucks. On every single use the first 10 or so BB just fall out of the gun when you pull the trigger. After the first 10 plus BB's fall out the gun shoot okay. Then randomly a few more will fall out as well. I use a fully charged Battery, I have 3 of them. On top of that the 100 round magazine will not work at all the BB's will not discharge from the magazine while pulling the trigger. The original metal magazine works fine when the BB's are not falling out the end of the barrow while pulling the trigger. It's almost impossible to sight the gun, I'm not sure if you can actually sight the 400e. My targets are roughly 45 to 60 feet away and the 400e cannot reach either of them most of the time. If I'm 25 to 30 feet away it works better NOT 100% but it does work the closer I get to the targets. I regret this purchase for sure and I DO NOT recommend the 400e BB gun.
From day one it would not take more than one BB per shot. In simi-auto I get one BB through and then it jams up. What a pile of crap.
Great looking, great feel. Nice built rifle. My only complaint is FPS Consistency. After loading mag the first shots 5-8 are weak and drop instantly. Something is not right!! All shots should be consistent and they’re not. Not happy
This thing is awesome shoots great. Pretty accurate actually. Loads of fun and alot cheaper than co2 , and cheaper to shoot than a powder burner for sure. Back yard fun and great practice.
Best Riffle Air PERIOD Barra you need to make a 3rd with an optic sight on it and a 200 round Mag!!! This clearly is the best small game hunting riffle ever!! So good that I’m buying another sprung off this bad boy!!! Please make a 3rd I’ll pay any price that you set and snatch it up like a fat kid love cake!!!!!!!!!
I bought the metal version, now on sale. This is my first electric gun. Plusses are build quality, short range accuracy, and ergonomics. Minuses are low power, low power, and low power. These are nowhere near the power or cycle rate of a Co2, which because I've never had an electric gun, would not know. Would I buy this again? Definitely not as it's too much money given the limits.

Verified BuyerOutstanding M4A1 replica - weight and balance is pretty much spot on. A charging handle, ejection port cover, and bolt add to the 400e's authenticity. About 1000 BBs through it so far without a single misfeed or jam with quite good accuracy. The most surprising part? Barra's specs claim 440fps; an Athlon Rangemaster Velocity Pro reads a very consistent velocity of 615.5fps, close to 50% better than Barra's specs.
Adding a "magazine empty" notification would be helpful. The 100 round plastic accessory magazine isn't nearly as authentic as the metal mag that ships with the gun and doesn’t look or feel all that durable - time will tell.
A bit expensive but the outstanding authenticity makes it worth the price.
Ambidextrous safety fell apart on day one, Barra did send parts to repair. After a few trips to the range, the power wire to the motor fell off. Fixed that myself after looking over trouble shooting guide. Fun to shoot but is very fussy on what BBs you use, even some high end brands jam. Runs great on 3s RC batteries with many shots on a charge . Feels and looks like a real M4 and fairly accurate for a smooth bore. With a similar cost of a low end AR I’d expect a little better dependability and not have to tinker it so much. But if you are mechanical and can keep it running, it’s truly a blast to use .

The metal construction of the Barra 400e Gen 2 makes it feel impressively realistic, and it seems built to last. The sight was dialed in perfectly straight out of the box, which was a great surprise. If I could change one thing, it would be to include a second magazine. I’ve been watching this product for more than six months, and now that I finally own it, I can say it exceeded my expectations. I’m genuinely thrilled with this purchase.
