the accuracy and power is great, very sufficient for small game pest control or hunting.

The one sided dovetail design is absolutely terrible. You can physically flex the whole thing if you have a scope mounted. The stock also starts to wiggle loose over time and overall the durability of the parts has caused one of my rifles to break over normal use.

I have owned 2 vapormaxs and out of the box they had performed great. The first one however grew 2 main issues. The first is a pin inside the reciever that holds the mechanism became misaligned and needed to be pushed in again. This required me to take the airgun apart and use small wooden plugs to keep them in place to continue normal function. The second issue was much more catastrophic. The whole pressure chamber area shattered while I was pumping it one day and completely broke the airgun. Maybe it was due to me not oiling it properly which could've been my fault but I think its still worthy to note. I had put around 2000 pellets through by that time. My second vapormax has been holding up much better but sometimes the bolt will blow back when you shoot it causing air to escape. It only rarely happens so I wouldn't call it an issue yet. Overall it works well and I still use it. My final opinion,I would gladly pay more for a metal reciever and replacement parts. Hope they improve

pump lever works well

Highly inaccurate, bolt blows open at each shot, very loud report. Contacted Crosman but no reply. Don't waste your money.

Really like the platform.

Make it more durable. Probably a part made of plastic that should be steel caused the bolt lock failure. Find a way to make the pellet mags easier to seat and unseat; it take a bit of force to perform this task.

Do not buy it. It has not proven to be durable. Pellet mags are difficult to seat and unseat. Worse though is after just a few months of light use it is not useless because it will not stay in battery when fired. The bolt pops open and blows the air out the back instead of pushing the pellet. And it is past the PA 30-day return window. Hoping Crosman will make it right.

Power and accuracy with the iron sights.

The dovetail rail on this rifle is a disgrace. Whoever designed this should be demoted.

This is a powerful and fun plastic plinker to shoot with the iron sights. The plastic rail is a joke. If you can apply a $25 coupon and bring the price down to $85 it's worth it. Personally I wish I spent a few extra dollars and bought the 362 with the steel breech.

It did shoot well, and it's lightweight, but DO NOT BUY!

6 months old and it losses pressure on the fourth pump. It makes a pathetic hissing noise near the trigger when pumped. It only holds 3 pumps of the advertised 10. Pyramyd has washed their hands of it and refereed me to crosman for repair, and they expect me to pay for shipment. Totally worthless warranty!

Flexible scope mount is total garbage. It's only attached on one side and is smaller than 11mm, so scope mounts do not fit unless modified! This gun is a total lemon, you would be better off throwing your money on the sidewalk to watch the scramble.

Super accurate with scope. Easy to pump. Not at all easy to remove magazine without using a pliers. My first only lasted about 4 months before I heard to release valve fail this morning. Am trying another because it could very well have been my fault for leaving rifle charged for long stretches of time.

High power for pesting or low power for plinking. Iron sights, while cheapish, are very easy to use and quickly acquire the target. Accurate enough for backyard fun.

Quality control. Ordered three had to return one because it shot too far to the left.

Crosman added some interesting safety features. One is that the pump is disabled until you cock the gun. The other is that you can not pull the trigger until the cocking lever is seated forward; this eliminates open breech shots. Loading pellets into the magazine is exact opposite of other Crosman magazines. Once you figure it you it is OK. Don't keep pushing the cocking lever after the last shot. This will damage the rubber that holds the pellet. One of mine is pretty damaged; but it is still working.

Pyramid air return policy, the QC on these isn't great, but once you get a good one you're set. These are all plastic but feel super durable. Features work as advertised. The magazines are great once you get used to them. Good range of power without a billion different pump settings. 1-2 works just fine at 10 meters.

The bolt feels super flimsy compared to the rest of it. It feels as if it might break if you make too many mistakes. But the whole thing is quite cheap as a whole for what it is, so it's a a give and take I guess

The accuracy does reduce after a certain point if you keep pumping it like others mentioned but heavier ammo might help

Accuracy, It seems to shoot every different pellet I tried In It very well! Power 880FPS (10 Pumps) with an 8 grain RWS Wadcutter Pellet that's over 13 Ft Lb's of KE! And It's uses a 10 shot magazine! This Rifle has made the Daisy 880 & 901 Power Line Models Obsolete!

Seems Great As Is!

If you're looking for a Pneumatic Air Rifle that you can use for Small Game Hunting and Pesting or just want to kill some soda cans the Crosman Vapor Max would be a Good Choice!

Tale of two Vapor Max rifles, identical guns very different results. Purchased one as a gift and got to use it. Was so impressed by the quality and performance that I purchased one for myself. If I had received the last on first would not have purchased the second one. First gun was perfect right out of the box. Smooth pumping and magazines seated well. The second gun had problems. Pumping is not smooth. Magazines to not seat well which causes failure to feed pellets. Shoots so far to the right I had to twist the front sight to get on target with the iron sights. But it is accurate enough.

Better quality control.

If you get a lemon out of the box, send it back.
