Page 5 of 6 - Winchester 12GA Long Beard Lok'd Reviews

3-1/2” 5 shot 2 ounce. Patterned really well at 20 & 40 yards. Shooting a Franchi Intensity with Carlson Longbeard XR choke (.650) also with the Burris Fastfire 3 red dot. I was able to take a Tom at about 15 yards. Dropped him with one shot, very lethal round.

My 11-year-old son took his first gobbler with Long Bear XR in 20 ga. When he first shot it at the range, he was amazed at the pattern. I'll have to admit, I was as well. I've seen a lot of 20 ga. turkey load patterns and Long Beard XR delivers the very best ... by far. I was more than confident handing this shotgun shell to my son in the turkey woods. It was quite the memory for us both!

I can't hardly believe the patterns I am able to throw with long beard xr. I began hunting with my 20 gauge because I do not need to beat my shoulder up with the 12 gauge. I have shot tss shells and they are great but tss is not justified by its price. I don't know that I will ever need a better shell than long beard xr. Winchester did it right!

I’ve always shot Winchester supreme 12 ga 3 1/2 inch #5s but decided to try these for the 2019 turkey season. I couldn’t believe the pattern at 40 yards over twice the shot count.

Can't say enough good things about this ammo. Shot this bird at 15 yards and he dropped immediately!

I'm using a Stoeger M3000 12GA with a Carlson LBXR Turkey choke .650", with LBXR 3" #5 1 7/8oz shot. Pictures speak louder than words.

I started using the Winchester Long Beard turkey loads after talking with a vendor at an outdoors show in 2016. He paired my shotgun with a turkey choke and the Winchester Long Beard 3 1/2" 2oz. #5 shot. My 1st turkey with this load was amazing. My buddy & I were turkey hunting and we called in a nice tom. He hung up at 50 yds out. I whispered that I was going to take the shot. He whispered back "don't shoot, he's too far away". I gently tugged the trigger, BOOOM! The turkey dropped in his tracks. This Long Beard ammo is by far the best I have ever used with long range capability. I have taken several turkeys since then at long ranges and it has yet to disappoint. My hunting buddy has since switched to Winchester Long Beard ammo as well.

Awesome turkey load! I was very impressed with the patterning performance on these loads. In the pic below, the target on the right is at 25 yards and the target on the left is at 45 yards. At both ranges the Longbeard XR 3.5'' #5 loads deliver devastating patterns!

This is a great product at long range and any range

When patterning a new turkey gun , I try several premium chokes and ammunition. In turkey hunting, only one shot matters. That’s why I only trust Winchester’s Longbeard in my turkey guns!
