Things I liked:

I bought the Hunter version in .22 because I wanted to try the 6X scope, which I found to be excellent, (AO with adjustments fm 5yds to infinity). I also wanted the threaded barrel for accessories. Mine came with a test target with a one hole 5 shot group in it @ 30 ft, which is the range I shoot most often. It likes almost any pellet I feed it from 11.9 gr to 21+, regardless of shape, It is not difficult to duplicate a five shot group in one hole @ 30 ft. One of my favorite targets is a foil star which measures 1/2 inch from point to point. It is not difficult to shoot each point in turn, then the center, or simply place a pellet hole in a target and see how many I can put thru that hole b4 it enlarges. Not bad for an old codger approaching 80. Mine switches easily from compressed air to CO2 (I am equipped 4 bulk fill or tethering CO2), and is very accurate on either. Just be sure to de-gas completely b4 switching. It is light and comes "sling ready", in case u want to pack it 4 hours.

Things I would have changed:

Hammer spring and trigger spring are too stout and not easily adjustable, leading to me having to replace the bent bolt handle with a new one from Crosman...no charge and quick shipping from their friendly customer service folks, and takes seconds to replace since it is threaded. My trigger is very crisp and clean and currently breaks consistently @ 5lbs exactly. Hammer spring is getting lighter with use. Can't have everything 4 under $300...or can u?. LOL This little air gun comes close.

What others should know:

If you want extreme accuracy and a good scope 4 hunting small game or target fun, buy one. It pumps up easily with a hand pump or easily converts to CO2. I might change a couple of springs some day but, right now I have several thousand pellets thru it and it still shoots great, so I am resisting the temptation to mess with it. Mine will kill a crow very humanely at 30 yards +.

Things I liked:

This is a great gun for price point. I bought this gun as my first PCP and have been very pleased. It's very easy for me to pump it up to it's 2,000 PSI fill pressure with a hand pump. From the top of the yellow part of the pressure gauge to full, it takes me about 60 pumps. That'll give me about 25 good shots, before the point of impact starts to drop. It's very accurate, even out to 50 yards. I bought this gun for back yard pest control, and it does a good job of cleanly dispatching small yard pests.

Things I would have changed:

The bundled scope is decent, but not great. It's a fixed 6x scope. If I were to buy this over again, i'd buy the regular Maximus, not the Hunter, to save ~$40 to put towards a better scope. I upgraded to a 16x Leapers scope and love it.

What others should know:

This gun is loud. For me, it was not backyard friendly, without some additional mods. The Hunter model comes with a 1/2x20 UNF threaded adapter on the end of the barrel, which makes connecting certain aftermarket accessories very easy.

Things I liked:

Light weight good looks accurate dependable

Things I would have changed:

The hard but pad should be rubber

What others should know:

Very accurate with cheap Crosman pellets I have had mine for about two years now and it never fails to bring a smile to my face when I use it it will shoot dime sized groups all day long it is a little loud when firing but it is not a problem where I live I also have a gun safe full of powder burners which I can shoot at my backyard range but I find myself grabbing the Benjamin wy not for a penny a shot how can you go wrong

The pressure gauge has a scale for CO2. Is this rifle dual fuel? That is HPA/CO2?

    • Ted from USA asked:

A bit confused, this airgun *is* PCP right? It shows up in the list when I narrow search results down to CO2 powered.

      • Mark from USA answered:

The Maximus is a PCP airgun.
