In my opinion Gamo Hunter Maxima is the propably one of best airguns made by Gamo. Maxima is really beautiful piece on equipment. The build quality is perfect considering both metal and wooden parts. The barrel rifflig shines like the sun. Considering the power, this gun propels the heaviest lead pellets like GAMO TS-10 about 230 - 250 m/s, medium ones like GAMO Pro Magmum over 280 m/s and the lightest ones up to 300 m/s! (measured by my Chrony B, +20 Cel.). This is average 10 - 15 m/s more than lead pellets shot by my GAMO Shadow 1000 or CFX. With PBA I got muzzle velocities up to 1150 m/s with loud rimfire like crack-bang sound. And the accurracy? It is not difficult to get 1,0 - 1,5 cm c-t-c 5 shot groupings at 30 m (sand bag rest). I hit quite easily golf bal sized targets up to 65 m. All seems to be good enough but there is one annoying thing...
Things I would have changed:I wonder why GAMO makes such high quality airguns but equipes (spoils) them with so poor trigger mechanism!? It can't be so difficult task for Gamo engineers to fix that generally known defect (=trade mark?).
What others should know:Finally I must mention the sound of Hunter MAXIMA. Typically the spriger makes some kind of "SPROINGGG..." sound especially the cheaper guns. Gamo Hunter MAXIMA makes nice "THUD" sound without any cheapy after resouding. All in all Gamo Hunter MAXIMA is the beauty and the beast of airguns - a real threat for small games and ugly varmints.

Pyramyd air's excellent service.
Things I would have changed:Breech seal, sights, trigger, rail, and wood.
What others should know:I have owned three gamo guns and all of the have had problems within 5 months of purchase. The breech seals on gamo guns are a big problem, they rip, crack, and fall out. Save yourself some money and go for a RWS or Beeman.
