Designed for youth shooters, the Explorer breakbarrel is a great place to begin their first forays into shooting sports. With a lightweight cocking effort (16.5lbs) and a total weight of 4.45lbs, this is a gun nearly anyone can handle.
Each Explorer features a sleek black synthetic stock, skeletonized to reduce weight. It's raised cheekpiece and 12" length of pull assures a comfortable hold.
If you've got a youngster you feel is ready for the responsibility of shooting, the Explorer is a respectable addition to your collection.

Very easy to cock. Relatively light weight for a break barrel. Accuracy. Got a one inch spread with six shots at 30 feet with open sights, using RWS Diabolo Basics. It's described as a youth rifle, but the specifications matched everything I was looking for. Perfect for indoor shooting,
Things I would have changed:Nothing,
What others should know:You might have to remove the rear sight to mount a scope.

How much will the sights obstruct a red dot sight? Can they be easily removed? I'm considering the Hawke Vantage Red Dot 1X30 9-11MM to help my daughter keep a good cheek weld and the height over bore to a minimum.
The rear sight should be relatively easy to remove. The front will be more difficult. It would have to be cut off.The Umarex Embark would be easier to remove the front sight unit. The Diana 240 is really easy. There is a set screw that holds the unit on the gun. Otherwise the front sight will intrude almost halfway into the red dot field of vision.
Could a sling stud be installed so a bipod could be used?
No. This is a break barrel gun. You must shoot it free hand using a artillery hold or you will not get good accuracy.
very handy little lesson gun

Great fit for my 10yo son.
Things I would have changed:Nothing comes to mind.
What others should know:Easy to operate for a 10yo child. Accurate enough to hit small plinking targets at 10-30 feet. Nice design. Good build quality. Have only fired 100-200 or so rounds so far.
