Plus, the non-removable noise dampener reduces the report (noise) up to 52%, which means you won't spook game while hunting. But, just because the Whisper is modestly priced doesn't mean you give up anything in the accuracy department! You'll be hitting your targets and making one-shot kills time after time. We measured the cocking effort with the metal spring, and it was 35 lbs. (Gamo lists it at 30 lbs.).
Velocity will vary depending on the type of ammo you use:
.177: 1200 fps with PBA, 1000 fps with lead
.22: 950 fps with PBA, 750 fps with lead

Things I liked:I'm amazed at it's light weight...Very easy to cock... Things I would have changed:I changed to a GTR trigger..much better..The safety must be engaged manually..it should be automatic...I added a BSA scope with AO..I need it. Things I liked:The guns are kick ass in appearance. I purchased two CSI .22 w/ gas venturi identical to one another, they are fairly light weight, very accurate with $70 leaper scopes, trigger feels great, CSI finish is durable for normal wear n tare, I’ve shot about 250 rounds plus in each rifle, very quiet as described, sounds about as loud

I live in a gated community with a 5ft block wall around the yard and no one is non the wise about the thud sound that occurs as the guns is fire. It’s a lot of for the whole family. Note I do keep the guns low profile while in the back yard even though it's very quiet, that is I don't parade around the yard with the gun in the air for onlookers to see. Things I would have changed:I would like a stock that is about .5" longer. What others should know:A good choice among air rifles for target practice or game hunting. However I've not shot anything other than paper targets, bottles, cans, and bee hives at a distance of course.
