Things I liked:

I really like the reticle. I use this for hunting and my casual attempt at field target. The 6-24 will focus down to 10 yards. The 8-24 will only focus down to 15 yards.

Things I would have changed:

I like it just fine like it is.

What others should know:

You will learn a lot in field target that applies directly to hunting.

Things I liked:

Solid construction, turrets turn crisply with positive clicks without play. Clear optics and very good focus the entire range of magnification. Flip open lens covers are convenient.

Things I would have changed:

Better quality control. I got a lemon. Even before mounting, a tap at either end will result in an audible ringing sound inside as if a spring is loose at one end. Tried it on anyway, it zeroed quickly, can put 3 shots out of 5 using Gamo Swarm Magnum with .22 H&N Hornets into the same hole at 25 yards. I could've lived with that noise if the scope stayed zeroed, but it didn't. After 10-15 shots, the zero will shift unpredictably in both windage and elevation. Rezeroed it gave excellent results again, then the same errors repeat after a dozen shots, making it totally unreliable. Tried zeroed 4 times before confirmed it to be non-dependable and unusable considering the price. So I returned it.

What others should know:

Solid construction, quite heavy for the size, small button on bottom of tube under windage and elevation turrets making it unsuitable for the Diana Bullseye ZR (Zero Recoil) mount without drastic shimming or suitable inserts to raise the scope for enough clearance at the bottom.

    Great glass

Money paid for the quality I got. Put it on my 7 mm rem mag and it works great.

Second Athlon scope, very happy with it!

Excellent price, especially thru Expertvoice, optics and features really are nicely dialed in, really hard to beat.

    NRL22

I purchased this scope for my NRL22 base class rifle. Ergonomics are outstanding,Tracks flawlessly and glass is good. 18-24 power you will notice a drop in clarity in color and detail but it is definitely the nicest option in the price range. You will have to spend a good amount more to get anything better.

    Affordable long distance fun

I’ve got a lot a different scopes and this one lands itself in a nice category. Low cost and long distance at the same time. Adjustable turrets all the things a shooter needs to fine tune each shot. The glass is good and comparable to like brands at higher costs. This scope would be choice for a guy looking to step up to long distance shooting without braking the bank. He scope will work good on a bolt gun or an ar.

    Great Scope

Great scope. priced right does everything I need. Has a zero stop. Mounted on a cz MTR 22 rifle. I shoot out to 200 yards very easily.

    GOOD SCOPE

Using on a 22 rifle that I wish to stretch out the distance on. Optics are clear and it sits very well on top of my Savage 22 LR. Will look at having another in the future. Have several Athlon scopes and so far they have not disappointed in clarity or quality.

    Good stuff

Put this on my tikka t1x .22lr benchrest rifle. Replaced a mueller 4x14 i had in it. What a world of difference! This tikka is now finally setup just for benchrest at unknown distances. Scope does great!

    Verified Purchase

    Things I liked:

I now have 2 of these and 2 element helix ffp. I like these better ( old eyes) because the reticle is slightly thicker and illustrated much better in low light and cloudy days hunting and shooting field target

    Things I would have changed:

Glass could be a touch sharper at edges but your focus is on center so?

    What others should know:

In my opinion its a good scope but there is always room for improvement. I like the helix ( good scope to ) but for my old eyes Ill tAke the athlon

    Things I liked:

Nice optics, I like the reticle design.

    Things I would have changed:

I could do without the illuminated reticle if that would save a few dollars.

    What others should know:

You can add a UTG Accushot SWAT Sidewheel for range adjustment. You need to enlarge the mounting hole on the sidewheel by carefully enlarging the rubber insert. I used a 1 1/8" diameter Forster bit in a drillpress and it created a perfect snug friction fit. Others have used a Dremel tool. There are setscrews on the UTG sidewheel to more firmly affix it to the focus knob on the scope.
