    Things I liked:

Heavy steel, pellets stay in the trap.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

I shoot a nitro piston .22 cal. 950 FPS rifle into this trap from 16 feet in the basement during the winter. The pellets stop and stay in the trap with no damage to the trap.

    Things I liked:

I love this pellet trap. Although it might seem pricey, it's worth every penny. Even if you are skilled at working with steel and are a welder, i don't think you could make one yourself for cheaper, and this thing is VERY solid. I've shot thousands of pellets into it with .25 and .22 caliber air rifles without a hint of damage. Of course it's rated for .22 Rimfires, so you're in good shape with any air rifle. As others have done, i invested in about 12 pounds of duct sealer, which only costs about 2 bucks a pound at big-box hardware stores. This stuff is perfect for making this trap almost silent, while helping to trap the lead, especially if you are shooting indoors or want to keep the impacts quiet. I know you can make your own pellet traps out of boxes and old books, but you always have a lingering doubt that your pellets will eat through the trap. With this trap, you know you are safe.

    Things I liked:

Wow, What a well built trap. 1.77 pellets over 1100 fps at 10 meters were shredded. Great design. Can't wait for warmer weather and more shooting. Wiating to try hitting it with 22 lr,too cold out...

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothin!

    What others should know:

keep lead out of the environment, buy this backstop.

    Very sturdy..!!

    Things I would have changed:

A finish that doesn't comes off with pellets.

    What others should know:

A "MUST" for indoor plinking but you should put some sound absorbent material, it's loud like a bell..!

    Things I liked:

I love EVERYTHING about this trap, the build quality, weight and it looks great. It means serious business and it makes me feel safe to shoot the highest power magnum air rifles into it.

    Things I would have changed:

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

    What others should know:

I bought this exact same .22 bullet trap about 14 years ago and it basically looks the same with very little wear. I wrote this review just to tell people from experience that after owning one of these for over a dozen years that they really hold up longer than anything out there. This is the last trap you'll ever buy, trust me! I loaded mine up with about 20lbs of duct seal and this thing is indestructible and quiet. I've had other traps over the years but those things are long gone and torn apart not only by pellets but the elements as well.

    Things I liked:

A great pellet trap for indoor use with high power pellet rifles. I handles a 1200+fps rifle at 10m, and it stops the pellet. In fact the pellet vaporizes into powder and dust. It also is very good for pistol shooting at 25ft. It is also heavy and easy to clean, welded togeather well, and it does not dent. It's also larger than most pellet traps and has a great finish and welding.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

This trap is loud, it will ring out when the pellet hits it. I duct tape a cardboard front to seal in the led dust and shrapnel, and change it when I clean out the trap every 200 shots. This prevents led dust and led particles from escaping from the trap. I also place tape over the big holes, and use another piece of cardboard over the front every 100 or so, to cover up the major holes in the cardboard. IMO avoid cheaper traps that are not designed to handle the impact of high power pellet rifles and get this one. You will not be dissapointed.

    Things I liked:

I dont think you could find a more durable trap in this price range. This one is actually designed to catch .22LR rimfire ammunition, so obviously it works well with airguns. As mentioned on the packaging, this one is not recommended for shooting BBs into. Most of those will bounce out, and could be dangerous. This is a great trap. It also gives a nice "clank" report when a pellet hits it (especially a .22 pellet), so that is fun.

    Things I liked:

A trap that stands up to .22 @ 800+fps. I bought a Beeman Grizzly X2 and it desroyed my lighter weight Gamo trap(which worked great for lower velocity .177). This thing is built for .22 rimfire rounds. It is very solid and very heavy. At 500 rounds, pellets are taking a little paint off the back, inside, no denting at all though. This thing is TOUGH! Nice 10" X 11" opening. Simple, very easy to use and very solid. Rings like a bell when hit.

    Things I would have changed:

Offer one with a 24" X 24" opening for longer distance, rapid fire pistol shooting. Excellent as is though!

    What others should know:

I cut piece of carboard (up to 10" X 10") to tape my targets to and put that in the clip. Plain paper hanging is OK in my basement, but outdoors you'll need the cardboard to keep any breeze from moving the target. It looks like a cheap clip in the picture, but behind it is a very heavy-duty guide/brace that the clip grabs. It moves side to side or can be removed to empty trap. If you shoot the "cheap" clip, not a problem (other than your aim). Replace it with any binder or office style cilp. The sound it makes when hit @ 10meters w/14.3g, Crosman Premium Hollowpoints @ 800fps+/- is louder than the rifle itself. Get this thing, you won't regret it!

    Things I liked:

    Size Weight

    Things I would have changed:

    Better baffles to capture pellets

    What others should know:

I like the large margin of error that this trap affords due to its size. It is solid, stays put and generally does the job, but I do have lead splatter on the floor in front of the trap after a shooting session.

    Things I liked:

Well made. Stops 0.22 cal. LR rim fire bullets from handguns (up to 1,050 fps) and rifles (up to 1,250 fps) with no dents, just some pealing paint. Also stops 0.177 and 0.22 cal. lead pellets. The fps data is from my CED chronograph at a 630-ft. altitude, 70 degrees F, and 65% RH. I estimate the trap has stopped around 1,000 lead projectiles with no sign of denting.

    Things I would have changed:

The unit dings loudly (no db data!) when hit. This is to be expected. I placed a piece of carpet on the interior back side and this cuts down on some of the noise. However, for me, the noise is not a problem.

    What others should know:

I have used it in my basement set at 20-ft. (this is the most length I can get) from the firearm muzzle. There is some backsplash (or blow back) from tiny bits of impurities in solid lead (melting point = 620 °F) bullets. (Note: I need to do some more experimenting and math. This could only be from the handgun where the terminal velocity is lower.) And there is much more backsplash from copper or brass coated rounds. This to be expected due to the higher melting temperature of brass (1,720 – 1,875 °F) and copper (1,980 °F). The backsplash has just enough energy to put small pin holes in the target paper which is 20 weight ink jet paper. The instructions indicate that the trap should only be used for rim fire rounds and not pellets or BB’s. I agree that steel BB’s should not be fired into the trap, but lead pellets and lead round balls stop OK with no bounce. This is at 600 to 800 fps from 0.22 cal. pellets. And 350 to 450 fps from 0.177 cal. pellets. In all cases, safety glasses should be used to be safe.

    Things I liked:

Solid piece of steel. Heavy, but small enough for a basement range.

    Things I would have changed:

The paper hangs from the clip a little funny. The target bends into the trap, but it can be adjusted with a little tinkerking.

    What others should know:

There is a resounding clack when the pellets strike the target and this noise is louder than the gun you are using to fire pellets into it.

holds up to pellets like a real champ! a 19 ftlb gun doesn't even put a dent in it!

    Things I would have changed:

a clip on the bottom of the trap so as to secure target from blowing in wind

    What others should know:

don't shoot the clip like I did... tape your targets to cardboard so as prevent targets from blowing in wind

    Things I liked:

i use a benjiaman marauder pcp pellet gun in.22 caliber. it shoots at around 1000 fps. this trap works very well. the paint on the trap from pellet hits is damaged, but, the trap is not and shows no signs of being shot through. this is a very sturdy trap.

    Things I would have changed:

i mount my paper targets to a piece of cardboard i cut to fit the opening. this works well to support the target and is easily replaced whenit is shot up. also i would provide sound deadening material to the trap as the noise of the pellet striking the trap is quite loud.

    What others should know:

this iss a quality product and worth the money! buy it!

    Things I liked:

Heavy duty, much heavier than I expected. No assembly required.

    Things I would have changed:

I would have preferred something a little larger: An 8"-9" target is all you are going to fit on this one. I would have also appreciated a spot to attach the target on the bottom too.

    What others should know:

Made in China....Can't we make anything in this country any more? I would pay double for the opportunity to keep an American employed. Are you listening Crosman???

    Things I liked:

This is one hell of a trap. I had been struggling with the Crossman trap with the curtains. I went through a lot of curtains and had to cut a lot of cardboard for the front ot the trap. I figured the price I would pay for curtains would more than pay for this trap in a very short time. I am well pleased. It will hold 8 1/2 X 11 target sheets, so I can run them off on my printer for little or nothing. It is very heavy duty.I use it for air guns mainly but I fired a couple of 22 long rifle shells at it. They did break down the powder coating where they hit but did not dent the back at all..

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, it is very good as it is.

    What others should know:

It is a little pricey but it will last forever with air guns.

This is the type of quality trap I had many years ago. Glad to see they are still making great traps like this one.

    Things I liked:

Believe me!! this is the pellet trap to purchase if your gun shoots over 800fps. I had the light weight one and it got the back plate beaten out of it. My Evanix actually shot a hole through the light one and the plywood backing - clear through. This heavy version is much safer and stronger. Even after several hundred shots at 1000fps + it shows no sign of denting, much less of getting a hole in it.

    Things I would have changed:

Not too fond of the binder clip target holder buy it is very easily replaceable. The "replaceable" is probably a good idea even if you try to keep to "dime" shots.

    Things I liked:

The trap is easy to use and does exactly what it should--hang targets and trap pellets! It's also extremely sturdy; I expect it to last a lifetime.

    Things I would have changed:

I didn't like the ringing sound the trap made each time a pellet hit, so I bought a sheet of Cascade Audio VB-2HD sound-damping material, cut one panel to wrap over the back side of the top, back, bottom and lower front lip of the trap, and another panel for each the side of the trap. Now the pellets just thud, and I have a cool, custom product!
