Open and accessible turrets for in the field adjustments. Illuminated reticle. Comes with flip up caps and very nice, rock-solid rings. You can't buy a better scope for under $100...anywhere. Also, came with 2 batteries (scope only uses 1 battery at a time).
Things I would have changed:Considering rings and flip-open covers will cost about $25 to add on to any other scope, this is a great deal. The optics are crisp and clear, but not Ziess quality. If Leapers can get that kind of optic quality and still keep their prices low, they'd have a real winner. The only other complaint would be that the turret clicks are a little "soft" feeling. I'd prefer slightly "sharper" or "crisper" clicks.
What others should know:Make sure you get the 5th gen "Tough Strength" version. These new Leapers models are super tough. I've used them on an RWS 350 Magnum .22 air rifle, a Savage 10FP .308, and a Remington 870 shotgun. They are tough! I've not had a single scope move on any of these rifles. I haven't dropped or banged any of them, but I can tell you they are recoil-proof. The turrets are a little tricky to get the knobs set correctly. You do not have to use an allen wrench to make adjustments if they are set correctly. There is a friction ring at the base of the knob that can be used to lock and unlock the turrets in the field. The allen wrench is only necessary to reset to zero and get the right pressure on the knobs themselves. I shoot long range, hunt, and just plink...this scope is perfectly well suited to any of these activities. I'd love to put Ziess scopes on all my guns, but the difference in price just isn't warranted. These new Leapers scopes really perform!
