Things I would have changed:The Gamo Extreme CO2 has a limitation if you don't use the gun for more than 24 to 48 hours (the limit to whiich you can store the gun with a partially or completely filled CO2 cylinder.) This a real waste of a CO2 Cylinder if you go hunting but once a week. I sent an email to GAMO USA suggesting the following modification.: Maybe the rifle could be improved by adding a CO2 Cylinder shutoff valve to relieve the gas pressure when not in use. The valve could be closed by an allen wrench accessed through the bottom of the stock. Once the valve is closed the remaining CO2 pressure can be released by removing the magazine and pulling the trigger. This would neutralize any pressure on the trigger CO2 release valve and would keep from wasting CO2 by removing a partially used CO2 Cylinder. The best thing about this modification would be that the gun would always be ready to use just by reopening the CO2 cylinder pressure release valve.CommentsBy Scott from USA on 2010-11-05 22:19:40 0 
Would be better if gamo set it up to use shotshells also on a rotoryclip to shoot both.i have also a gamo viper also a great gamo gun to own very accurate even with crossman hunting field point lead lots of nockdown power even at 80ydsBy Laurie from Australia on 2010-10-23 01:01:03 0 Place thread sealing tape (teflon tape) on the threads of the CO2 before installing cylinder, helps stop the CO2 leaking out, while not in use
Things I liked:What a nice CO2 rifle. WOW! Shoots EXTREMEly well. Easy to sight in, accurate. I like everything about it. It was 50 degrees when I sighted in the rifle and I was able to get over 150 shots in. Things I would have changed:Add rilfe sling mounts.
What others should know:I purchased this and when it arrived it appeared to have be used. The pump section for cocking the gun was loose and I had a hard time getting the CO2 cyclinder installed. Rear sight ramp was loose in the bag. The gun would not fire after the first cyclinder was removed and a new one was installed. I returned the rifle to GAMO and they sent me a new one. Great Customer Service! I picked this rifle because I am somewhat disabled and cocking some of the spring loaded rifles is not possible. Check out the videos on YouTube and it shows that this rifle is capable of taking a nice varielty of small game.CommentsBy Scott from USA on 2010-11-05 22:25:09 0 Wanted to let gamo owners know shooting less or more rounds has to only do with the co2 cartridge itself & nothing to do with the rifle u purchased.

Things I would have changed:to heavy weighs more than my 20 gauge shootgunCommentsBy David from USA on 2011-10-11 16:05:19 0 Yes, you CAN buy a .22 lr gun for less and the shells cost less than SOME pellets, but it is very difficult and VERY VERY annoying to shoot it in your basement! Also, a really good .22 pellet rifle will cost the same or less than a really good .22 lr target rifle AND shoot more accurately!By Scott from USA on 2010-11-05 22:32:18 -1 I think all gamo 22 cal are great but if your going to spend 250$ for what u want 1200 ft per second & long range knock down power then y not buy a real marlin 22 rifle for only 100$ at dicks sporting goods& ammo is cheaper 555 rounds of hollowpts by remington only 18$ not knocking gamo i love then both marlin is a semi auto 10rd clip just as awesome 1/2 the $ now u have extra $$ to buy another gamo like i did.happy hunting
Things I liked:Pump action, 10-pellet magnet clip (easy to insert pellets and they stay right in place), good sights despite what you may think at first. I bought this baby in .22 cal and I can't wait to hunt small game with it. Had to shim my leapers scope quite a bit to get it zero'd at 20 years, pin point accuracy. Seems very sturdy. Things I would have changed:It's a bit on the heavy size and not so well balanced
What others should know:When I first got the gun I could not pull the bolt back to remove the clip. After several forceful attempts, I noticed the gun was already cocked. I just had to pull the trigger first to be able to remove it, which is pretty logical but I really assumed my rifle was broken at first. Luckily it still cycles well and no jams to this day.

Things I would have changed:Stronger stop on fore grip to keep it on when pumping too hard. Different front sight setup. Hood for front sight. Ability to load without chambering a pellet.
What others should know:Very nice feel and balance. Easy to stay on target with pump fore grip cocking. Cock with barrel up for more power, and down for more shots. GAMO Armor pellets work very well. You can single load longer pellets, but bet to use long tweezers.

Things I would have changed:Nothing's perfect and that goes for the CO2 Extreme as well. The price is too high given that the Hammerli 850 is of much better quality and less money (without a scope). The scope needs to have AO. The bundled scope is great if you are shooting past 35 yards... unfortunately that is outside of this rifles effective range. Get closer to the advertised 700 FPS. With 14.3 gr Crosman pellets I averaged about 550 give or take. Hobbies topped out at 630 FPS. Lastly, take a lesson from the Hammerli and do something about that spongy trigger.
What others should know:I got the best groups at 10 and 20 yards with the Crosman Ultra Magnums. For plinking, target shooting, and even pest control, the CO2 Extreme is a great option inside 20 yards. If you don't want to mess with spring, pump, or PCP, this gives decent power, and very respectable accuracy along with ease of use.
