This gun is freakn awesome!!! I've got the walnut stock in .177 & it is absoultey stunning. It's by far the best spring gun i've shot. I put a Hawke Ev 3x9x40AO on it & had it sighted in dead on at 20yrds within 10mins.

Nothing except maybe the price.

This gun is expensive,but it's worth every penny! Guns are like anything else in life.. You get what you pay for. If you want an accurate gun that is easy to handle,shoot,& are a serious airgunner you can't go wrong with this gun.

This is fairly hard to cock, but man it's accurate w/ the Air Arms Heavies. One holers @ 11yds off the back of my couch. I like it better than my TX200.

The prosport has to be one of the finest airrifles I have ever owner, i also own the tx200 which is agreat rifle, but the prosport gets shot the most. This rifle shoots as well as my best 22 longrifle rimfire at fifty yrds. It's a real keeper. Everyone who see's it is impressed.

Others complain about the safety, but I find it a nice way to slow down push it in, breath aim and shoot. I wouldn't changea thing except the price,

Very Easy Rifle to shoot. 1/2 pound lighter in Beech Stock. Trigger is great right out of box. Have owned a TX 200 MK III, I like this rifle better. Better balance overall. Cocking effort is a little harder than MK III. Would purchase again. Likes 14.3 Crossman Hollow Points.

Resettable safety.

Excellent Rifle. I ordered this Beech Stock 1/2 pound lighter. The finish on stock looks better than walnut. I have a TX 200 MkIII in walnut.The Pro-Sport is hands down a better gun. It has better balance & less recoil. I can hit a paint ball with it at 30 yards. You cannot go wrong if you purchase this gun. Under lever is a great design.

To be able to re-set the safety without recocking gun.

Great gun shoots smoother and is more refined than the Tx200. Nicer looking too. ( I own both guns)

Resettable safety??

Cocks plenty easy for just about any guy. I will admit my daughter could not cock this gun. Why would anyone rate this gun lower than the tx200??!!! The Tx 200 should definately be rated less stars than this rifle!!

This rifle is well balanced way better than the TX models, and very accurate with CPHP's

This gun is very nice well built and more accurate than I can shoot it I'm getting one ragged hole groups with this thing at 30yds with CPHP's in .22cal dime size or smaller with 10 shots, I've got about 600rds thru it now and the barrel is starting to get seasoned good and the accuracy keeps getting better and better, I like this rifle alot better than the TX 200 MK111 and the HC I had, its not nose heavy like they were and easier to shoot off hand, I can't say enough good about this rifle I really like how it handles and the cocking is a little different but you get used to real quick and its not a problem at all for me as some have complained about, the shroud does keep the report down it quieter than my R9's, after some breakin shooting my velocity went from 693 ave out of the box to 715fps with the CPH's so all in all I'm very happy with the gun!

once you lern the right way to shoot this rifle it is very very acurate mine is a 22 cal it shoots very acurate with alot of pellets like crosman premiers rws super dome.predators and jsb exacts.

great looking rifle high quality parts and craftsmanship. hits the target every time with JSB 15.8g pellets. Trigger is very nice, pretty much perfect right out of the factory. This is labeled as a medium power air rifle but don't let that fool you, it will easily go the distance and packs quit a punch. small game stand no chance against the accuracy and power of the prosport. nice hidden cocking lever. if you got the cash then you won't be disappointed, this has to be in the top 1-3 air spring rifles on the market.

The safety once disengaged to fire must be fired, you cannot put it back to safety mod without cocking the rifle. don't know if this is possible without sacrificing the quality but make it lighter.

The gun itself isn't to bad but add in a scope and you have a 10-11lbs rifle and let me tell you it will tire you out in the field. A sling is a MUST for this rifle in the field. Freehand shooting is almost not possible at 50yrd plus because of the weight. Cocking lever is short so cocking force is very hard, i would not recommend this for the smaller guy or girl. The safety automatically engages as you cock which is nice but adds to the already hard cocking lever so even when you think your done cocking it you still need to pull even further to engage the safety. This is a common mistake many new owners made thinking the gun is defective but it is not just very hard to cock.

Is the ProSport really worth it? Is it all the reviewers and shooters say about this $670 spring piston air rifle? After about a 1000 rounds through my Air Arms ProSport, I thought I would do a review on this spring piston air rifle. If you do not have time to read the long version I would say in a sentence or two that the PS is an impressive rifle. Beautiful, quiet, 40.5 inches short, shrouded, great trigger and packs enough punch for most of your pest and hunting needs and did I mention BEAUTIFUL! Let's really take a look at this rifle. I have made up 7 categories that are the most important to me and hopefully many are of importance to you when considering a purchase of a spring piston air rifle. These categories are not top to bottom in importance but all of these categories work together as a whole. TRIGGER- I will say right off the bat that I am a self proclaimed trigger snob. The gold trigger on this gun is a two stage fully adjustable unit that can work great right out of the box for some but may need tuning for others. My rifle was shipped to me with a trigger that was mushy and creepy. After a call to Bori at TGAG I got some trigger tuning tips and went through an adjustment sequence that improved the performance greatly. I would guess that my trigger is set to 8 to 12 ounces and has a short 1st stage pull. It is not as crisp as I would like yet but it is getting close. I know that it's only tuning talent that separates me from the perfect trigger tune! It seems that the Rekord trigger gets compared to the AA trigger quite often and for good reason. Both Beeman and Air Arms make great triggers/rifles. I have a Rekord trigger on a R9 and would have to say that so far the Rekord has my PS trigger beat by a small margin. The Rekord is easier ( for me ) to adjust and it breaks a tad more crisp. Again I will say that a skilled tuner could make the AA trigger just as good or better than the Rekord. With a bit more break in and some luck, tuning this trigger will be a favorite I'm sure. BALANCE/LENGTH/WEIGHT When I was reading reviews on this rifle, my review writers often commented on what great balance these rifles have. Well, in short, I completely agree. This gun weighs right at 9lbs without a scope but it is so well balanced I just don't have a problem with it. The rifle comes to my shoulder nicely, comfortably and well balanced. The length of this rifle is impressively short considering it is shrouded ( more on that later.) At 40.5 inches it is easy to wield and use. If you are going on an all day hunt and you are not in good shape, you may feel that this gun is too heavy but with the great balance and steady holding characteristics, it's worth the effort to carry a field. COCKING/LOADING I have to tell you that with all the pictures and talk about the cocking arm on this rifle, I was still not sure how the whole set up worked and even looked. Let me tell you that the cocking arm on this gun is really slick. The hidden lever lends this rifle to really look like a firearm. In my opinion it's this lever ( among other things) that really sets this rifle apart from other air rifles. Don't let me mislead you though, this rifle takes a firm and positive hold to cock the 40lb mechanism. When I first got my PS I cocked it only to find that it would not fire. After a call to Pyrimyd Air I realized that I needed to pull down on the lever just a bit more to set the trigger. Duh? After learning that, it has become quite simple to cock this rifle. There is no anti bear trap or buttons to press when putting lever back flush with the stock. A simple way to hold this gun whilst cocking is to place the rifle butt on you hip or in the crook of your hip and leg. I hold the gun with my left hand and pull the coking lever down towards my body with my right arm until I hear a little "click." I load the pellet and bring the lever back flush with the rifle stock. The loading window is large and easy to use. I have fairly long fingers and goods sized hands and have no problems loading pellets. Interestingly, if you fumble a pellet while loading, the pellet falls through the loading port and out the bottom of the rifle. This allows you to just load another pellet instead of turning the rifle up side down to get the fumbled pellet out of the loading chamber. ACCURACY/SHOT CYCLE/SIGHT PICTURE The term accuracy or accurate is often a mis-defined word. What does it mean? Does it mean that the gun without the aid of human contact shoots accurately or does it mean that you and me the shooter can shoot this particular gun accurately? Arguably, most upper end spring piston air rifles are accurate void of human contact or the right human contact. Many of them have the same barrels bought from the same companies. The point I am trying to make is that the PS is a gun that I and most shooters can shoot accurately. This rifle is not hold sensitive like many spring piston rifles get dubbed. It's just plain easy to shoot. Mind you that your can't just grab this gun any old way a fire off one holers at 40 yards but using your basic shooting skill you will be able to shoot quite well with this gun. I am amazed that this very average shooter can place very tight groups at 35 yards. I have shot way more pellet on pellet shots than I ever had with other spring piston rifles. In capable hands this rifle would shoot ragged holes all day long at 35 yards and beyond. Part of the reason this rifle is so easy to shoot is the gentle recoil. The gentle backwards nudge is slight enough for me to not loose the sight picture of what I am aiming at. I had thought that loosing the sight picture was a given with springers but I was amazed that I could keep my eye on my target during and just after each shot. This feature is a HUGE plus for this rifle especially if you are also a PCP shooter. It's super easy to go back and forth between shooting mediums without having to get anal about springer shooting technique. POWER The advertised power for this gun is 16-18fpe in .22. My rifle shoots right at 16fpe with 14.3 CPs. I have shot PCP for about 5 years and am used to a lot more power in my guns. I have found that this rifle has plenty of power for ground squirrels, pigeons and crows just to name a few. At 40 yards I am shooting clean through these critters and the pellet just keeps on going. Being the power hungry shooter that I am I would love it if this rifle shot at 18fpe but I am not sure what more I would accomplish with the 2 extra FPE? SHROUD/STOCK/BARREL The shroud on this rifle is really sweet. Not only does it look really cool it works quite well to lower the report. Besides the Beeman R11, I have not been able to find an off the shelf spring piston rifle that is shrouded Like my PS. This shroud just exudes quality and is part of what makes this gun so special. I chose a walnut stock for my rifle. It adds another $130 to the price tag but is well worth the investment. Air Arms has been coming out with great wood and this rifle is no exception. The checkering is flawless and the ventilated butt pad makes a nice pellet holder. The 9.5 inch Lothar Walthar barrel is just what the doctor ordered. Superbly accurate and built to last a life time. Like Air Arms, LW has proven themselves again that they build an awesome product that really lies at the heart of an accurate well made rifle. QUALITY/BUILD You may guess by now what I am gong to say about this category. I don't think a rifle could review so highly and not have great build quality. Air Arms did this gun right. Solid, nice looking, accurate, great bluing, awesome wood, and ridiculously accurate. Eight hundred bucks is a lot of money to throw down for a spring piston rifle but to me it is well worth it. With all this being said and no rifle being perfect in every way, you may be wondering if there are any draw backs or negatives on this rifle. One might say the price is a negative. Another thing is that this rifle does not have a simple solution for installing a sling. I am not saying it can not be done but so far I have not found a system that I trust. The main problem is with the cocking lever where it is located, it makes it hard to attach the front swivel. Some install the swivel on the shroud but an AA dealer told me not to do that in fear of damaging the shroud. This rifle is not for the faint of heart or should I say (faint of arm?) You might get real tired toting this gun on an all day hunt with no sling. A shooter might find the cocking lever on this gun to be an issue. It is easy enough to cock but to be honest I would not sit down and shoot this gun 100-200 times for a plinking session. I would use my R9 for that. What I have mentioned above I really had to dig deep to find. The negatives ( for lack of a better term) on this rifle are just minute and may just not come up on another shooters radar. One thing I do know for sure is that this rifle will be staying with me for a long, long...long time.

Don't let the sticker price scare you! I was hesitant too, But once I started shooting this gun I was hooked. By far my favorite and the most accurate springer I own. I am yet to find a pellet that his rifle dosen't shoot well. It may not have the hitting power of some airguns but It lacks in power it makes up for with surgical precision. I got mine in .22 cal. If you are serious about airgunning you can't go without having one of these in your collection.

All about this rifle is extraordinary. Engineered w total attention to detail inside out. This rifle has class & a timeless beauty tha will never be overemphasized. The walnut stock in my rifle is beautiful & it is absolutely worth the extra cost. This rifle will last a lifetime if care properly.

10 pounds less cocking effort.

I mention above the cocking effort as something that I'd change, however this is for a man my size, for someone larger/stronger this may not be an issue, therefore I'd not rate this rifle less than 5 in any parameter. I own one in 22 caliber, & it's accuracy & power are perfect for hunting rodents. As with my two HW97K's this rifle is lethal w/in the 10 -15 y range. In this caliber it will decapitate the rodent if hit in its cervical spine w a Cro-Magum pellet, if projectile hits on thorax or abdomen it will go across w ease leaving the victim eviscerated. I like the HW97K's better b/c the cocking effort is less, however, apart from this, AA Pro-Sport is in a class by itself.

This air rifle is a beautiful and precise weapon.

I bought this rifle used for $600 and it came with a $300 dollar scope. I thought it was to good to be true; at least until it arrived. The only other "adult" air gun that i have owned was a crappy gamo big cat that i shot in my back yard. From 18 yd my groups with just three shots usually didn't fit inside of a quarter. I'm still a bad shot, but with the pro sport i can put 5 shots from the same distance inside of a dime. Most of the groups are one ragged hole. I am so impressed at the accuracy and looks of this gun. I have been saving up paper route and lawn mowing money for months to buy the prosport and it was definitly worth it.

I purchased the Walnut stock version and it is absolutely beautiful. Lots of character and swirls, precision cut and very sharp checkering. As many have said it is a beautiful air rifle with excellent quality materials and manufacture. This air rifle in .22 is far more precise than I'll ever be shooting from a standing position. I find cocking effort easy. I just flip the rifle over, place the butt in the groove between the top of my leg and torso, hold with left hand at the top of the grip with the barrel in my palm between index finger and thumb, grasp the underlever with my right hand resting the end of the handle in the curl of my fingers and cock the rifle using a bicep pull. I mounted a CenterPoint Power Class 4-16x56mm scope using Beeman 5031 30mm Rings, High, and have been able to zero from 10-30 yds. There is plenty of travel on the rails to set the eye relief for comfortable, repeatable and quick shouldering. The trigger action on mine was excellent right out of the box. Using Air Arms Diabolo Hunter .22 Cal (5.50mm), 16 Grains, Pointed pellets I am able to keep a .75" group at 23 yds. I cannot comment on the recoil, as there is no comparison to my magnum centerfire rifles. I hold this rifle tight in my shoulder and let the foregrip rest in an open palm tucking that arms elbow in against my side for support. I made a simple tool out of a machine screw and length of wood dowel for inserting a pellets. It is fun and easy to shoot and looks magnificent.

I like pretty much everything about this gun. It is super accurate. It is beautifully finished w/walnut stock. I bought this gun after owning many springers previously. I doubt I'll ever have to buy another, it's that good. It is quiet and strong enough for suburban backyard varmint control.

I wish it was as easy to load as a break barrel or other types of underlevers but once you get used to it, you get fast, and to do it another way would detract from the lines of this beautiful gun.

This could be the last airgun you'll ever need.

This gun boasts incredibly fabulous accuracy, lines and balance. I have extensively shot many air rifles over 35 years including field target since 1996. This is simply the most accurate spring gun I have ever used. As with the TX200, the internal mechanism is the toughest, least stressed and easiest to work on of all spring guns. If you are reasonably strong, you will require no spring compressor for takedown. Unlike most other airguns, the guts on these AA springers are wonderfully overbuilt.

Air Arms formerly took much better care in their polishing/bluing process. The trigger on my gun was also shipped with a great need for additional tuning.

Use dedicated field target pellets. My gun works well with both Kodiak and FTS pellets. Stick with .177 caliber for field target. As with most springers, use a light hold on the gun and let it recoil gently in your arms upon firing. Using good wrenches, pin punches and a good honing stone, be ready to do some trigger tuning or hire someone qualified to do it for you. Many folks complain about the cocking effort in their Pro Sport. Yes, it's a work out at first but it eventually gets easier as the gun breaks in. Expect to have a break in period lasting at least 1000 shots for accuracy and reduced cocking effort. Begin with heavy pellets to reduce dieseling in your new gun. With some patientce, will have the best spring gun ever!

Very accurate. Gorgeous walnut stock that handles & balances extremely well. It is a .22 caliber and puts out enough energy for small game hunting.

It shoots JSB exacts and Crosman premiers the best.

Great looking. Shrouded barrel. The rifle is smooth and quiet with plenty of power for pest control in .22 caliber (which I have). The hidden underlever is a neat feature.

I guess I would like it to be easier to load; but than it would take away from the looks.

This rifle is extremely accurate.
