    Things I liked:

A year and half ago, I bought two of 0.22 Remington NPSS and after calibrating them with the scope that came with it (Center Point scope), I was able to hit a dollar coin size target at 40 yards with greater power than my 0.177 single shot spring coil rifle. The nitro piston makes cocking smoother and quieter than the spring coil rifle. The seven pound weight of the gun, makes it walking around the yard less heavy. Last part of May of 2011, I bought another two of same rifle of 0.22 and after calibrating them, one of rifle was making a streaking noise, I complained it to Pyramid Air, and Pyramid air handled it in a professional manner. They told me to re-shipped the rifle with free shipping. Now, I am extremely happy with my Remington NPSS.

    Things I would have changed:

    Absolutely Nothing!!!!

    What others should know:

    Thank you Pyramid Air.

    Things I liked:

With the Nitro Piston it is more quiet and has less recoil, has good power.

    Things I would have changed:

I’ve put about 200 rounds through this rifle and I only can get a average of a 2 inch shot group at 20 Yards of 5 rounds each. I tried a different scope and it didn’t change any, still 2 inch shot group. Also the scope moved on the rings. You have to torque the screw quite tight. Sent back to Pyramyd Air for a refund

    What others should know:

For the money you shoud get a rifle that is more accurate and better mountng rings.

    Things I liked:

This gun is quiet and can be discretely shot. I have not broken it in sufficiently to comment upon its accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope mount lip does not precisely fit into the rifle rail and migrates with every shot, no matter how tightly I torque the screws.

    Things I liked:

Well-made, hard hitting, extremely accurate, quiet, solid construction, awesome scope.

    Things I would have changed:

the first stage of the trigger is long but i could honestly care less

    What others should know:

this gun is quiet, powerful and extremely accurate. Im getting 3/8in groups at 30ft with H&N field target trophy, then goes through a half inch of high compression plywood. got a little kick to it but it feels great. A bit heavier than i it would be but works excellent. those pesky squirrels had no idea what hit em. There is a 50 shot break in period where its loudish and wont hold a group but after that you can hit a quarter from 50ft with one shot. And all this with you neighbors being completely oblivious to all activities! Worth every cent! Trust me!

    Things I liked:

This rifle is spot on accurate, I get consistent ragged holes at 25 yards with the occasional shot that is off, by an inch or two. I have not shot it much at a further distance. It has got some power . Feels nice in the hands, and looks good to boot.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not much of anything.

    What others should know:

I have not had a whole lot of experience with air rifles, but I read an article on line about adjusting the trigger and I messed with it today. You can actually get that stock trigger feeling real nice. I use Crosman .22 hollow points and Crosman .22 FT. Both are very accurate.

    Things I liked:

Cocking effort is Great - a good all day shooter.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger stinks - rough, and if you let go after Stage 1, it doesn't spring back out, but stays pulled. I'm going to replace it with a CDT trigger, so I don't care too much.

    What others should know:

I'm still breaking it in, but with Crow Mags and similar 8 gr pellets, it is MUCH louder than I was led to believe by Pyramyds review. Honestly, I might not have gotten it had I known, but still need to get some 10 - 11 gr pellets to test. As shipped the barrel was filthy. Cleaned it, shot 50 rds, had to clean it again, and now after 200-300 more rounds, it is settling down, but slowly. At 20 yds I get 10 shots covered by a quarter, with the occasional flyer, but the flyers come with the sweet smell of dieseling, so I think that will remedy itself over time. Still looking for a single hole, but I think it needs more pellet weight.

    Things I liked:

The quietest AG I own, by a fair amount. Granted, all the others are springers, but all have been tuned to one level or another. So they were already what I considered to be fairly quiet. The NPSS takes it down another notch. Just what I was looking for.

    Things I would have changed:

Stock needs a longer pull; make it adult-sized. Also, get rid of the hokey stock color patterns, just make a quality plain black plastic stock. Or if you must make a patterned stock, at least provide one in Reattree, not the ugly digital camo.

    What others should know:

Only a few hundred rounds so far, hard to tell. Reasonably accurate. Note that the first one received was a mess - scratched receiver bluing, blemished/misformed stock, and misaligned barrel. So QC may not be the finest.

    Things I liked:

Very nice rifle ive owned for 3 weeks shot 2500 pellets through it. Pointed and domed pellets about 7.4 to 9.0 grain pellets are the most accruate and longrange ive tryed many different kinds. I shoot at 50 yards and 100 yards and im having a blast with this rifle. Thank You Pyramyd Air !

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    Things I liked:

Low recoil and very low noise. Good quality and solid.

    Things I would have changed:

Would like to see open sights added with see thru scope mounts for those quick close in shots.

    What others should know:

RWS Hypermax, Crosman SSP, and Gamo Platinum provided poor shot groups. H&N Hollow Points (Fine quality pellets) offered best groups (1.5"@30yds).

    Things I liked:

I like the ease of cocking the air rifle. I have a bad shoulder and it helps a lot.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the hole at the top of the pistol grip, to make it a little larger. I have a blister on my thumb from the hole.

    What others should know:

The Remington (NPSS) Nitro Piston Short Stroke air rifle is very accurate. I had a limb hooked over another limb, it took four or five shoots to cut the limb, but it did fall to the ground.

    Things I liked:

This is my second npss as the first one was sent back with a grinding situation during the cocking cycle. The second gun I received works as I thought it would- nice and smooth, hits hard and seems fairly accurate. I can easily group(without a bench rest) one half inch at 12 yards with .22 cal crosman hollow points or their pointed pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

Please improve the trigger. It would make the gun even better.

    What others should know:

Clean and blue loctite the screws relating to the scope. Let sit for at least two days. This will save a lot of grief later when trying to sight in AND staying on point down the road. Crosman pointed pellets have been the most accurate for the few that I've tested. Close seconds for the Benjamin Hollow points and RWS hollow points in .22 cal. Also back off the trigger adjustment screw counter Clockwise about 1 turn, it definitely improves the shootability.

    Things I liked:

This gun shot great right out of the box, the smoothest shooting air rifle i have ever shot. I changed trigger, installed a CBR from CharlieDaTuna. The scope was very accurate for about 500 shots then it lost adjustment it could not be readjusted so i sent it back to Crosman & they sent me a new one. that i still have new in box, (i installed a c/p 3-9X50 i had on another air rifle ).

    Things I would have changed:

Only thing that could make this gun any better would be install the CBR trigger. Then you would have the PERFECT, MOST ACCURATE & BEST Air Rifle around!

    What others should know:

My rifle likes almost all 177 pellets in 8.3 to 8.7 weight,iI only shoot premium ammo, like RWS, K&N, Beeman &other top brands. Get your self a Remington NPSS Nitro Piston Short Stroke air rifle w/ 3-9x40 Scope , from PYRAMYD AIR,

Big scope . . . I like a lot. . . good field of vision. Gun shoots OK .. .my first Nitro piston air rifle.. . so far so good. . .only shot 50 rounds through it and am waiting for better weather to use more with diff types of ammo. .. . I shoot in backyard of my house in suburbs & rifle is quiet enough for me. . .

    Things I would have changed:

Am sure the hole in the composite stock is there to reduce weight . . but looks funny .. .

    What others should know:

I think this is a good nitro piston air rifle to start out with .. . after I get used to this one I might buy a more upscale nitro rifle .. .

    Things I liked:

Overall fit and finish is good, considering the plastic stock and price point. I was very satisfied with the metalwork and the feel of the mechanism while cleaning the barrel, mounting the scope and cocking the gun. Adjusting the comb of the stock was simple after reading the manual, and it placed my eye at the proper level for the scope. The weight of the gun and the cocking effort was very reasonable, given the advertised power level. I liked the nearly vertical pistol grip-it felt pretty natural. I was also happy that the one piece scope mount had a recoil stop pin, and that the rings had a grippy type of rubber substance to hold the scope. I appreciated the scope reticle and clearness, after adjusting the ocular bell for my eyes-it should make estimating holdover much easier at distance.

    Things I would have changed:

The weather!!! I've not been able to shoot the gun due to weather in this part of the country, and my wife doesn't like the idea of an indoor range... After I get a few hundred rounds through the gun I'll update this review. I fired one round out into the snow to uncock the gun after cleaning; I think I will probably use expanding foam to fill the stock and eliminate the noise it transmits to the shooter after I make sure there are no early failures.

    What others should know:

DO clean the bore with GooGone as has been said in other places. I got a tremendous amount of dark, nasty stuff(?) out of the bore that I'm sure would have affected accuracy and longevity of the barrel. I used about 15 or so bore patches before getting a fairly clean one out of the bore.

    Things I liked:

Wonderful scope comparing to my first air rifle - Remington Vantage. Both the tirgger and scope are far more superior. The 3-9X40 OA makes the image much more clear and brighter This center point scope is great. The recoil is milder too thanks to the gas piston design. I have shot about 300 rounds so far and I have nothing to complain about. At $269, the rifle can offer such quality is amazing. Love it!!!.

    What others should know:

Make sure to screw down the anchor pin into the hole on top of the chamber. It will prevent the scope to slide.

    Things I liked:

First time buyer with little experiance with guns so this is a total novice review. I expected to spend a little more to compensate for my inexperiance and get a quality product. The gun came with a scope so even I could hit something. The gun feels good and solid unlike the Red Rider models I've shot in the past. Extremely quiet, doesn't make enough noise to draw attention in a subdivision full of old people who nosing over your fence.

    Things I would have changed:

Power is questionable? I'm not a gun guy but I expected it to be able to take out coons with a decent shot. It barely buries the pellets into plywood at 50', mabe thats normal but I had a $30 pellet gun once that could penetrate a 55 gallon steel drum so for the money I expected a little more power. The scope mount needed to be "shimmed" with paper to get it to sight in, we cranked it as far as it would go and it still shot 2" low, the shim fixed it but again for the money I wanted it to work out of the box. Not worth $360.

    What others should know:

For shooting in a residential backyard it's probably perfect but if you plan to try it at any distance you'll want more power and better sights. I had no problems with Pyramid Air,shipping was perfect and everything came as described.

As expected---Nitro Piston: more quiet, less recoil, more accurate; decent scope; hard hitting.

    Things I would have changed:

Sling attachment points; Needs better trigger (replaceable, but at a cost); the plastic feels cheap.

    What others should know:

Great value. Spoiled me as I will not purchase another springer that does not have an air piston.

Great looking rifle and really like the cutout for the thumb hole. Good scope and was easy to mount. Only shot about 20 pellets and was very happy. less noise with nitro piston.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

Great value and lost of fun to shoot. This is my first nitro piston and I would recommend to others.
