Things I liked:

This is a western-style CO2 pistol that you really want to like and there are good reasons for that. The pistol is a shooting beast. I did the test using only the first five shots for the data. I also did a 45 shot string and calculated the data on that long string, as well. Why did I do that? Because I could. This is not a six shooter. It is an 18 shooter, with a loading mechanism similar to my Baby Dessert Eagle. Crossman packs a lot of CO2 into shooting power in this pistol. It consistently shoots above 400 fps, in spite of the low factory specs (330 fps). The looks. It looks just like an ordinary six shooter, except that the cylinder does not move. The finish is a flat black, which looks good. Love the checkered grips and the Crossman logo on them. The weight is lite, since it is not made of metal. Overall, the appearance really nice.

Things I would have changed:

The accuracy of this pistol leaves a lot to be desired. I had difficulty putting more than 3 shots into a 2” target at 10 feet. The pistol will take getting used to because the trigger pull is very hard, although it is double action, only. The hard pull affects accuracy, IMHO. I’m sure I could do better with it with practice but it will take lots of practice. My biggest gripe about this pistol is the bizzar place the safety was put. What would normally be the cartridge loading gate on a normal six shooter is the safety switch on the right side of the cylinder. You literally have to pull it in the direction of ‘out of the of the cylinder (in literally 90 degree direction from the direction in which the pistol is pointed). I can’t fathom why anyone would locate a safety switch there!!! After you load the pistol you have to pull the cylinder gate out (away from the pistol) so that the red dot indicating ‘safety OFF’ is showing and the the gate appears to be hanging out of the pistol.

What others should know:

A 5 shot string delivered a hi velocity of 408 fps, Lo velocity of 402 fps and an average velocity of 405.8 fps with an SD=2.13 fps and variance was 4.56. In spite of the BAD safety switch location, I do like this pistol. How can you go wrong at $52.00 and change? The pistol looks great if you ignore the safety sticking out so you can shoot. It’s not a perfect replica but it simulates a replica very nicely if you are not picky and it shoots like a working fool: I put several reloads of BBs into the pistol and I stopped shooting after 45 shots. The high velocity was 408 fps and the low velocity was363 fps (well above the mfg spec) over the entire string with an average velocity of 399.17 fps and an SD=9.7 fps. And it’s a LOT cheaper than some of the more realistic western replicas on the market (most of which I own, by the way). If you are on a budget, go for it. This pistol is a great plinker. Accuracy 5 star rating is because you are probably a better shot than I am.

Things I liked:

Dun while it lasted

Things I would have changed:

That it only lasted two CO2s

What others should know:

My experience was short lived before a piece on the loading rod broke. I got busy at work and missed the 30 day return window. Tried to repair it but now it won't cock. I'd pass on this one

Very inaccurate. About 6" low and 3" left at 10'. Fix this.

    Things I liked:

I like to do instinctive shooting with cowboy style guns. The light weight of this Colt SAA look alike was something to get used to. After a few CO2 cartridges and test shooting at various targets, I think this is a great pistol for beginners to train with. Hammer pull and trigger pull became unnoticeable after I got used to it, and it is not really an issue to complain about, I have real guns that are much worse.

    Things I would have changed:

The bb loading finger tab is too big and the pistol will not fit into a cowboy holster. I had to file it down halfway so the pistol would holster and draw without problems. If you do file the tab down on your pistol, make sure to tape the barrel so no debris gets into the bb chamber.

    Things I liked:

High shot count. More than enough for 4 loadings on a 44 degree day. Easy to reload, doesn't take shells to create extra cost.

    Things I would have changed:

Almost everything. The high shot count is in exchange for low power. I'd really prefer a lower shot count in exchange for a bit more punch. You can easily see every BB going downrange. It's almost entirely plastic. At this price point, they could easily have a much less plasticy feel to it. Remove the safety. It's a single action. Resting the hammer IS the safety. It doesn't need another, and the way they did it, that's just plain dumb. The trigger on this thing is abysmal. It's single action, but it has what would be considered a rather stiff double action trigger. With the stiff trigger and lack of weight, accuracy is very poor one handed. And this style of gun is made to shoot one handed. All things considered, Crosman really needs to cut the price in half to make this lemon worthwhile.

    What others should know:

I suggest you pass on this one. If you want that cowboy gun look and feel, there's plenty of other options, and they don't feel like junky toys. Save your money and get something much better. If you aren't looking for a cowboy gun, then you're looking in the wrong place to begin with.

    Things I liked:

A great plinker. With an 18 shot capacity (and a quick reload for 18 more) this gun is a great plinker. Just ask our leftover Halloween pumpkins.

    Things I would have changed:

Lighten the trigger pull. This gun would be a lot more accurate with a lighter trigger pull.

    What others should know:

Not the best retro copy of the old six shooters, but at half the price and that 18 shot capacity - who could complain?

    Things I liked:

it,s pretty cool. looks good and once i got used to it i could put the bbs close to where i was shooting.

    Things I would have changed:

i know it,s just a plastic plinker-- but a rotating cylinder would have made it less toyish. but it,s still ok.

    What others should know:

also like to add a -- WOW--about the shipping. it only took about 5 days (it was the weekend to.) i live in canada and when i order a gun over here from a canadian site i don,t even usually get it that fast. great job guys i,ll probably be ordering something again soon. thanks a lot .pete.

    Things I liked:

Good looking, resembles a 1873 Colt SAA. Single Action - best for aiming and accuracy. Shot a 2-inch group out of the box with a couple flyers. Accuracy got better after 200 shots. Good feel in the hand. The light weight is not a problem for me. Easy to load and reload quickly. Easy to load CO2 inside right grip. Painted Warnings are subdued and out of plain sight. The box is sturdy and stylish. Nice to be able to shoot up to 18 BBs before reloading. This is a fun gun to shoot!

    Things I would have changed:

Fix manual because it says to load "13 6mm plastic BBs", which is impossible and wrong! 6mm is airsoft. It should read to load steel BBs. Make the trigger pull lighter.

    What others should know:

Load small BBs, NOT the larger Daisy Match Grade Avanti Precision Ground Shot. One of those jammed in my pistol. I called Crosman (as it says to do in manual) and the Customer service rep worked with me to attempt to dislodge the stuck BB to no avail. Sent pistol in to Crosman and they sent me a new one within a week! Great customer service!!! Now I use the smaller Hornaday Black Diamond BBs and have experienced no jamming after 200 shots. Read Tom G's article first before shooting - extremely informative.

    Things I liked:

I like the weight of the thing, I like the ease of loading. Mine is accurate, like that! My first 2 shots were aimed at some bird droppings on my porch, 10 ft., first shot was right next to it and my second shot knocked it off my porch. The flies are regretting the arrival of it. Lots of fun!

    Things I liked:

This Product Has TOTALLY Blown Me Away !!! Let's See What Can I Compare It With From The Crosman Arsenal ??? Well How About The Famous "Vigilante" ! WHY ? Because It's Velocity Far Surpasses IT ! My Pistol Chronied At 497 FPS on the first 12 shots using a new 12 gram CO2 , with Black Widow Steel BB's !!! It Actually Blew my Target back a Full 1/2 Inch from It's Base !!! The Last Pistol I Saw That Did This Was The 941 Baby Desert Eagle , By Swiss Arms !!!! If You Have Pest Problems , Like Rodent Infestations , and Such ,,, This Item Will Definitely Be The End All For That !

    Things I would have changed:

THE SAFETY NEEDS TO BE BEHIND THE HAMMER OR UNDER THE TRIGGER GUARD , BECAUSE IT IMPEADES WITHE THE PLACEMENT WITH THE GUN IN ANY HOLSTER !!! PISTOL IS A BIT TOOLIGHT IN WEIGHT ,,, 4 MORE OUNCES WOULD HAVE MADE IT SPOT ON !

    What others should know:

BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT SELLS OUT !!!!

    Things I liked:

It's a Crosman...Well built and a fun shooter...The built in magazine is a plus not having to buy extra magazines....This airgun is a well shooter....As an avid collector, I am very pleased to add this one to my collection..

    Things I would have changed:

This is a great starter pistol for smaller hands...If you're thinking of a young shooter wanting to start in airgunning, this would be a fantastic beginner gun for young shooters...As an older shooter and collector, I can think no changes needed for the "Fourtify"...

    What others should know:

My own rule of thumb is, if it moves, oil it....From the spring, slide to internals I oil it with pellgun oil....With these spring slide loaders, do not just let the clip slam back...It can, and will with all spring slide loaders, cause the spring to detach...Treat it good and it will last years...Don't forget a drop of pellgun oil on the tip of the CO2 cartridge....Don't get frustrated with accuracy...This is a bb gun....Accuracy comes with practice, not in the box...Using different ammunition to see which works best for you, and the gun, takes time and practice....Every airgun, like a real firearm, has its own personality...Finding what works for you and the airgun is trial and error and takes time........

    Things I liked:

Glad I read the Tom G. review before my pistol arrived! Loads 18 BBs easily so that I don't have to reload very often. Light in hand with good grip feel. Trigger is a bit hard to pull but not a problem. I like that it is single action. Shot a 2-inch group from 20 feet which I am happy with for this inexpensive piece. Easy to install CO2 cartridge under right grip - CO2 hisses until tightened. Good looking Single Action Army Colt replica pistol and the painted writing is subdued nicely. No warning messages printed all over the frame like some air pistols. I like the flat black frame and Ivory grips.

    Things I would have changed:

Make the Safety easier to use - a bit hard to pull out. Maybe redesign the whole safety mechanism.

    What others should know:

Suggest you read the Tom G. review before you shoot. Use only steel BBs. Be careful not to break right grip when reinserting after CO2 is loaded.
