    Things I liked:

Rifle feels well built and rugged. The power output is impressive and you know that when you hit something it is hitting with some force behind it. Ergonomics are good and honestly, this feels a lot like my .308 so it really has some weight to it which I personally like.

    Things I would have changed:

I do not understand why crosman would make such a well built rifle and then slap cheap garbage sights on it. I would have gladly paid 30 more dollars for actual iron sights. If anyone knows if I can replace these plastic sights with better quality ones please let me know. I am not a scope guy and I really wish the open sights were better quality.

    What others should know:

This is a nice rifle and if you are in the market for a powerful air rifle, you will not be completely disappointed with this model. If you use a scope you can probably look past the cheap plastic open sights. The sights were the only thing that made me unhappy.

    Things I liked:

Gun seems of good quality. Just cheap sights.

    Things I would have changed:

Plastic sights are of poor quality. Color of stock did not match picture on website ( strange gray color).

    Things I liked:

Ease of cocking rifle, quieter than spring loaded, less recoil, easy to sight in , great price for no frill, functional varmint rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

None so far; will adjust/lighten trigger pull. Can't complain for the price. Hope it lasts longer than the previous spring loader.

    Things I liked:

GREAT $100 rifle. When you throw it up to your shoulder, it just feels right. Takes only a moment for target acquisition. Throws very good groups.

    Things I would have changed:

Bad luck with the scope. Had to hire a 240# 6'6" linebacker to cock the rifle for every shooting session.

    What others should know:

I've enjoyed the sights. Read a lot of bad reviews, but I enjoyed them. Now I am trying out SeeAll. Good Luck!

    Things I liked:

As a kid (a long time ago), I grew up with BB and pellet rifles. I haven't shot an air gun in about 40 years (until yesterday). I thought I might share some childhood memories with my son (backyard target shooting), so I ordered the Crosman Vantage .22 cal from Pyramyd Air. I wanted a traditional looking rifle with a wooden stock. I also wanted a rifle with open sights. I was surprised to see how many air rifles came without the open stock these days (just s scope). I also wanted a rifle powerful enough to shoot the occasional rodent due to new construction in my area. The Vantage feels like a solid rifle with the wooden stock and metal barrel and seems to shoot fairly accurately right out of the box. My son and I (not experienced shooters) were able to keep groupings within around 2 or 3 inches at 15 yards without sight adjustment. So far we have have tried .22 wadcutter pellets (12g???) and domed pellets (15.89g) and both pellet types seem to have about the same accuracy at 15 yards.

    Things I would have changed:

So far I am very pleased with this rifle purchase and there is not much I would change considering the cost of this rifle. There are a couple of minor things I would like to point out. The solid wood stock finish is very plain without any wood grain pattern. If anyone knows what type of wood is used, I would appreciate that???? Also, if you are ordering this rifle, I would suggest checking the breech inner diameter (where you load the pellet) for excess grease. I had to remove a lot of factory grease from this area (with a cloth) prior to loading / shooting the rifle.

    What others should know:

After reading many reviews about Crosman rifles having a "very heavy" trigger pull, I was surprised the trigger pull on my rifle was not heavy at all. It actually felt light to me (again, not an experienced shooter, just sharing my thoughts). Also, I should mention that my .22 rifle is fairly quiet (neighbor friendly) right out of the box (some reviewers had a different experience). Not sure if a .177 rifle would be louder due to faster pellet fps.

    Things I liked:

This air rifle is powerful and has a real good feel and I like the wood stock. I wanted to have open sights because I don't intend to buy a scope and for close range quick shots (small animals on the move) I think it is easier to locate the target without using a scope.

    Things I would have changed:

Everyone comments on the trigger pull and yes I guess I would change that. Its not that bad. My main issue is with the sights. I don't understand why they are so high off the barrel and the rear sight feels cheap. It is not solid and is made of plastic. Also, and this is a problem specific to the one I bought, I cannot zero this rifle as it still shoots 3" below bulls eye with the rear sight adjusted all the way up. I am still able to get decent groups so I believe the gun is accurate but I have not shot it very many times.

    What others should know:

Overall this air rifle is a great value. I don't mind the trigger pull that much and will probably tinker with it eventually. I assume that my problem with the sights (front sight is too high) is an exception and I just got a bad one. I could fix it but why? Hopefully Pyramidair will just send me another one and it will zero. I plan on updating my review later.

    Things I liked:

Starlings hate this thing. I bought this gun back in April. It's now December and it's brought about the demise of somewhere around 60 starlings, 12 chipmunks and one woodchuck in that time, from 5 to nearly 50 yards. The rifle has an amazing feel to it. The stock is hefty (it feels like you're holding a nice powder gun) and as another reviewer pointed out, it has a man size length of pull. It's a little stiff to cock, but that should be a given provided how much power this gun seems to have and a little extra cocking effort is no biggie for me. Another thing I love about this gun is how quiet it is. If you live in a populated area and have pests to eliminate or just want to shoot in the backyard, there's a good chance this gun wont alert the neighbors, or their dogs. And if you keep the muzzle inside a window people will be none the wiser. The recoil is also quite soft. I put an old, cheap rimfire scope on it to see it fall apart, but that never happened. I've since changed the scope.

    Things I would have changed:

Really the only thing I would change is the sights. They look good, but they're not the greatest. The front sight too chunky to make precise shots past 10 yards and the adjustment on the rear sight feels sloppy (probably because it's plastic). It's no matter for me since I put a scope on the gun when I got it.

    What others should know:

This is an exceptional rifle. I dislike sayings like "good for the price" or "you get you pay for". This is simply a great rifle at a great price. You're probably not going win any competitions with this gun, but if you want something for targets and critters this is the gun for you.

    Things I liked:

Great value. Solid gun with nice fit and finish. Good accuracy with favored pellets. Very good power for the money. Surprisingly quiet considering no baffling.

    Things I would have changed:

Needs a better trigger but once you get used to the long pull it is not too bad.

    What others should know:

This gun loves JSB Match Diablo Jumbo Heavy in .22 at 18.13 grains. I got very good accuracy (for a spring gun -- gas piston in this case) with these pellets and they cronied at 720 fps with very little variation. Comes out to just over 20 ft lb of energy. Overall, a lot of performance for a $100 gun. I topped mine with a Hawke Sport Optics 2-7x32 AO Sport HD Rifle Scope, Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1" Tube scope which is a very good match. I've put a couple hundred pellets through the gun with no movement of the scope or rings (Leapers Accushot 1" Rings, Medium, 3/8" Dovetail, 4 Screws/Cap).

    Things I liked:

Beautiful wood stock, mine is way darker than the pictures on this site. Very accurate with 19 gr H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme's. Almost no deseiling with heavier pellets. Hits very hard. Buries 21 gr H&N Barracuda Match pellets 3/4" in my 4x6 treated backstop. This is my second rifle and I'm very pleased with it. I have no intentions of scoping this rifle but I have a Williams peep on the way for it.

    Things I would have changed:

Better rea sight, smoother trigger, grip closer to trigger. My rear sight was mounted a little crooked, and I ran out of windage. Once it was straight, it was fine. Trigger can be jerky, but it's fixable. I have small hands so it's hard to reach the trigger and hold the gun comfortably, but swapping trigger fingers works for now until I can extend the grip forward half an inch.

    What others should know:

I'm a small guy, 5'10" 140lbs, so it's a stretch to reach the trigger from the grip. I actually have to use my middle finger to shoot and grip the gun comfortably. It's a bear to cock, but it's not exhausting. I easily shoot this gun for hours. If you're on a budget or not, I highly suggest this gun. Get a cheapo pellet for break in, then get some H&N's. You won't regret it.

    Things I liked:

I already owned 4 Vantages of the spring powered variety and tweaked the trigger and added a better scope to make the package a real nice one. I found the best pellet for that rifle and gave one to each of my nephew's kids. They are having a blast with those rifles and what powet they have. Now I wanted a Vantage with a Nitro Piston and a rifle that used the open sites. I found that the rifle shoots pretty far off as far as the sites go but I have to really break it in first and fine tune it. Buy the way, the best pellet is the Kodiac match 10.65 grain pellet to use in this rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

On all of the Vantages I owne so far, I have tweaked the trigger which makes it much nicer to shoot. It lessons the pull and the travel which gives you better accuracy and makes it easier to shoot. I just can't understand why Crossman can't make a better trigger for those less expensive rifles they produce.

    What others should know:

For the money, you can't buy a better rifle. I have owned 5 of them already and each one shoots differently and each one has to undergo some tweaking to get it on target. Power is really great wth each one. And hopefully you won't buy one that simply just can't be zeroed in with a scope or open sites. I beleive my Nitro Piston powered one would fall into this catagory if I mounted a scope on it but I am using it without a scope. For the money, you can't beat this rifle.

    Things I liked:

This rifle is a steal! I love the 22 cal version and should be an awesome small game hunting rifle. The Nitro piston can be cocked for long periods and colder weather is no problem. That works great for those late season small game hunts.

    Things I would have changed:

My only complaint is the trigger. That being said you can purchase a custom trigger for around $33 and you have a great rifle that shoots hard and can be used year round.

    What others should know:

Pyramyd Air is a great company. I would not hesitate to buy anything from them.

    Things I liked:

The heft and balance of the gun, very solid. I own and have shot many gunpowder long guns, but only have inexpensive Crosman pump guns, CO2 pistols and Gamo springers to compare airguns. Most of those triggers were far worse than this one. Accuracy out of the box was better than expected--quarter-sized 5-shot groups from sitting position at 15 yds using the open sights that came with the gun. (I only hedge the accuracy rating because of limited experience with the gun) Expect even better results at that range from a bench--and I'll be interested to see how it holds up at longer ranges. Might add a Williams rear peep sight instead of a scope, I've had good results with them on centerfire rifles. So far only used Crosman .22 14.3g pointed pellets. The trigger pull was long, so I shortened it using the adjusting screw. Acceptable for now. (It's not nearly as bad as some reviews led me to believe.) Nice to not have the 'sproing' and rebound of a spring!

    Things I would have changed:

Not much at this price point--sure, better triggers and rear sights would be nice, but I like the flexibility of choosing my own aftermarket enhancements.(And not paying for a cheap scope I wouldn't buy anyway)

    What others should know:

Cocking effort is robust, as should be expected for this power. Technique is more important than force. The gun is a bit quieter than I expected, a distinct airgun pop--acceptable for most backyards, unless you've got twitchy neighbors. One phonebook stops the .22 pellets, easy to contain. No dieseling from the first shot, and only required a few clicks to dial in windage and elevation. I think this gun is a great buy for a basic Nitro piston rifle. Time will tell how it holds up, but it's looking like a low risk investment to me.

    Things I liked:

This is my first pellet gun purchase. My original purchase had to be sent back due to sighting/quality issues. The replacement gun is perfect so far and I have renewed confidence in my shooting ability! I dealt with Cory, Tyler and Ruth during my original purchase and return. They were all polite and professional and made the process painless. I am very satisfied with Pyramyd Air and will continue to shop their site and through Amazon.

    Things I liked:

Accuracy is above expectations NOW THAT I fixed the badly ground front sight mounting ramp, and tweaked the trigger with the roller bearing trick found online. I think the basic wood stock is pleasing to the eye, nice to touch. A trifle short for a tall person but I adapted OK. I was prepared for a break-in period to gain accuracy but this is good after the first 20 shots. Shipping from Pyramid was VERY fast.

    Things I would have changed:

Factory quality control needs work. Even using extreme left windage adjustment it still shot to the right. Using hints online, I popped off the front sight. The mounting ramp on the barrel was ground at a bad angle. Filed it down. Reinstalled front sight about 1.0 mm right of original position. Aims and shoots perfect now.

    What others should know:

You may want the improved NP2 version, if they have really put a better trigger on it. But the roller bearing trick worked very well for me. For pellets, I went by the reviews and ordered the JSB Diabolo Exact 15.89 gr .22 pellets and the reviews are right!

    Things I would have changed:

Fix the sights ....it was shooting to far off the right and it wasn't enought to be accurate ...so I had a red dot added on it ....but still the front sights got in the way off the dot ..so I just cut a line down the plastic part and took it off and gthe sights by the breach ....withh the both sights off and a red dot its wroking great

    What others should know:

what a steal I'm most deff going to buy another one ....I'm hitting gallons of water 80 yards away ...I choose it over the benjamin xl all the time ..its lightweight and easy to cock and accurate ...I. hit a BIC lighter at 50 yards and I'm happy with it .......ii got the unscoped np .22

    Things I liked:

Good value. Crosman triggers are easy to modify. Gun eventually becomes very accurate with JSB jumbo heavy (18gr. pellets)

    Things I would have changed:

The horrible & barely adjustable trigger. The horrible, tall oversized sights. The sights force you to mount a scope unless you just want to shoot cans.

    What others should know:

My rifle is the .22 caliber. I know what accuracy is as my other rifles are an Air Arms TX200 and a RWS 350 magnum. The crosman vantage np needs cleaned, trigger mod. and a lot of pellets through it to get a ragged hole at 25 yards. I found the manual and other reviews to be misleading that it's broken in anywhere around 200 pellets. I'm now between 500 to 650 pellets through it and its becoming the gun I want.
