    Things I liked:

First this is the second RWS LP8 that I own. The first is 15 to 20 years old with a 2X scope. For the price it cannot be beat. I shoot many hand guns of various calibers and the scoped pellet gun is for a indoor 10 meter range in our home. That scoped pellet gun permits many very different and difficult shooting processes with friends and family. I have trained MANY first time shooters using my indoor range and the removal of the scope to train with open sights was a pain! So I have a new person to train and again due to the price and years of performance I wanted a second matching dedicated open sight pellet gun without the hassle of those scope removals. It now permits shooting both conditions with no prep issues.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing!

    What others should know:

Setting up a home range is very easy and it has permitted shooting sessions without planning or other travel expenses.

    Things I liked:

Received the pistol and took it out for a spin the next day. Shot from a rest indoors, at 13 and 23 feet. Could not come close to the center of the target - best I could do was 1 and a half inches low (and that was only 2 out of 24 shots0 - must of been flyers! A few days later I tried it again, from the rest and standing without a rest - same results, everything centered, but low on average 2 and 1/2 - 3 and 1/2 inches. When I adjusted the rear sight from the lowest position to the highest position it did not seem to move at all until after reaching the 3rd position/click, and even then there was not much of a change of results. When I finally had enough, I started putting things away and discovered a small 1/2 inch piece of curved metal under my chair. So, perhaps something broke off of the sight or ? on that 1st day and I just noticed it then? This is my 1st springer pistol, but I have a dozen co2 pistols and a springer rifle and have not had this problem with any of them!

    Things I would have changed:

Nice looking pistol, feels good, but my old eyes have a hard time picking up the different colored rear dots. Perhaps if they went to white dots for the rear sights?

    What others should know:

I have returned the gun for repair/replacement. I won't give up on this pistol, as everyone else seems to have no problem with it! And, if this next one doesn't work for me, then I will wait a few years and pass it on to the grandson. Pyramyd Air's Customer Service has (as usual) been great!

    Things I liked:

Very well balanced & VERY FUN TO SHOOT!! I'm in My 50'S and the sights are Great.

    Things I would have changed:

The grips are horrible, I immediately changed them to Galbraith Brothers wood grips.

    What others should know:

All I can say is, buy a lot of pellets because You'll hate to put this pistol down.

Quality and finish excellent. Very accurate without a scope. Easy to cock without use of the cocking aid. This gun is on par with my P1.

    Things I would have changed:

Grips do not do the gun justice. I immediately replaced with Galbraith walnut.

    What others should know:

    Great investment.

    Things I liked:

My LP8 is an amazing pistol, worth the extra money all the way. The additional distance between the sights makes it very accurate with open sights, and I have not added any optics just because the sights are so well done. Another interesting thing...the barrel is not traditionally rifled with lands and grooves like many of my other high end pistols. It is round at the breech end, but transitions to an octagon shape at the crown to really impart a positive spin to the pellets, and I think this contributes to it's great accuracy. When I empty my pellet traps I can always tell which pellets came out of my LP8 because they have octagonal shaped skirts from the barrel configuration. Get this pistol before they quit making them, you'll be happy with it!

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing, it's a classic.

    What others should know:

This pistol, if you shoot as much as I do, will eventually start losing velocity. I send mine back to RWS in Arkansas to have it rebuilt with a new main spring and seal, to keep it nice and lively.

Holy crap!!! For being a spring break barrel this pistol is super accurate and easy to cock without the cock assist. Not to loud and best stock sights on a pistol, bulls eyes at 10 yards and hitting a 3in steel plate at 25 yards with open sights!!!

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger pull could be better. Price is high but so far is worth every penny.

    Things I liked:

Love this gun ! I find myself enjoying it more than my beeman P1. ...it's got a bit more power and is much less fatiguing to load after 100 rounds or so. The trigger is crisp and breaks clean and predictable. The fit and finish is of the fine quality you can always expect from RWS/Diana. As this gun is new and I'm still breaking it in. ..I'm already impressed with it and can hardly wait to see what she'll be like after 750 rounds or so.

    Things I would have changed:

I feel they could have made the grip frame a bit smaller to allow owners to fit it with larger grips fit to their own hands...IMHO But i feel all guns should be that way....you can put a custom grip on easily but you can't change the frame. So no complaints!

    What others should know:

Be careful to seat your pellets all the way or you will get lead fragments on your breach seal. I'm hoping diana will offer an add on stock and better still a nitro piston upgrade ! I love my benjamin np pistol's smooth nitro piston. ..put that in this gun and it would RULE !

    Things I liked:

Fairly easy to cock, especially with the supplied appliance over the end of the barrel. Automatically returns to SAFE when cocked. Red & green fiber optics on front & rear sights makes it easy to obtain target, especially these old eyes of mine. I have found it to shoot very accurately and even though I haven't tried all the pellets in my armory, this pistol has liked everything I've put in it so far.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger pull is pretty heavy and it apparently can't be adjusted to lighten it up at all. [I like them lighter and have possibly been spoiled by my Beeman P1's and P11.] Also, I found that I have to remember to place the pad of my trigger finger very flat and square on the trigger or I will get a painful pinch to remind me when I pull thru to fire. The fit & finish of the

    What others should know:

Fit & finish on the plastic grips is not as good as it could be. I'll have to "dehorn" the lower end by filing or sanding the sharp edges where the two halves of the grips meet on the fore strap to make it feel smoother to my strong hand when I grip it.

Solid steel construction. Ease of cocking.

    Things I would have changed:

Fit and finish on plastic grip is not great. Where it meets on front of gun bites into my hand a bit. I bought an aftermarket walnut grip from Galbraith that blows the cheap plastic away. I feel at this price point it should come standard with a wood grip. In order to sight in the gun I have to move the rear sight a fair amount to the left. Seems like it should be closer to the center when sighted in.

    None.

I purchased an UltraDOT PAN AV red dot unit from UltraDOT directly together with a protective cover for $250.00. The combination of this item with the RWS LP8 pistol is extremely accurate and a joy to use.

This is an edit to a review I submitted almost (4) hours ago (approx. 6pm PST) today. In the earlier review I incorrectly recalled my chronograph reading with a CPHP 7.9g pellet as 580fps. My notes show the highest reading was actually 528.6. Sorry for the bad memory.
