I like the solid feel and execution of the shot. I am comparing to a Whisper springer. The Crossman is as quiet, more accurate and more solid than the Whisper springer. I even added the aftermarket trigger (necessary on any gamo) and still couldn't match the Crossman. An excellent varment gun.

It is a bit more of a handfull to cock than the Gamo, no big deal. I shot 100 pellets as a break in and put most of them through one ragged hole at 20 yards. The scope is great, the rifle is solid and I will never buy a spring gun over a gas piston again. The .22 was an ideal move over the .177 since all of my shooting is outside and in windy conditions. This is my new SKUNK remover and I am expecting great results. I changed to ballistic tip pellets from hollow points to see the difference in accuracy. The B.T. pellets were five inches low and through one ragged hole as well. A little scope adjustment, as expected, and I'm awe stuck again. Great value and U.S.A. made.

This rifle is a BEAST!!!!! I kill pigeons (bad for the environment, by the way) with this baby, and it's a clean kill in the .177 caliber. Suprisingly it is DEAD quiet, and almost resembles the M40A1; try not to let the cops see this one! More recoil than a standard .22 rifle which is great because you get that real gun-feel. $70 scope comes with it, mil-dot style. To top it all off, a beautiful digital camouflage paintjob which truly polishes this piece of all American weaponry!

1) Scope needs to be American-made; not Chinese :( 2) The paintjob needs to have a clearcoat finish...the pistol grip paint tends to flake off and crack a bit...

After breaking in, deadly accurate. LOVE the pretty easy cocking effort. Long range hunting unlike any other.

Make the camo better. Flakes off too easy.

For small game hunting, this rifle is unmatched in terms of cocking effort, accuracy, power, and great value. They couldve easily sold this for more money (glad they didnt though!)

its a very good gun, very accurate, works good with many pellets,if you can hit it, you can kill it with this gun, its quiet,and powerful

the camo comes off very easy, you can not prop it up on anything without the paint coming off

if you put w-d40 on any pellet gun, to prevent rust or anything, don't let it get in the chamber, it will destroy your gun

The weight was lighter by far than lets say a RWS 48,,or Gammo Extream Hunter,,scope and mount,,best I've ever seen included with gun..power was shocking compared to how quiet it was

On this particular set-up where the safty is,,,,I would have liked it to set the safty when cocked....

At 53 years old,,,and fooling with air guns starting when I was in my 20s,,,for the money,,,unless someone else comes along and throws down,,this is the finest air gun product I have ever purchased,,the weight,,suppression,,gas piston,,scope,,and mount,,for this price,,and last but not least,,from an American manufacturer,,,,a total home run

I like how quiet the gun is. I have another pellet rifle of this speed, and shooting it isn't much different in sound than shooting a 22 short. The Nitro is something I can use in my residential area, and no one will know.

The camo pattern isn't very permanent. Just putting it on the rifle rest I started to see chips of the camo paint falling all around.

This gun is accurate. The other spring/piston rifle I have seems to jolt the gun when you shoot, and I don't think I've ever really gotten it sighted in. The Nitro doesn't have that problem, and sighted in easily. The scope is also really nice on the Nitro.

The rifle

The maximum velocity as advertised on this website. It shows 1000 ft/sec for the .22 cal version. Unless you stumble onto the fact that putting your cursor over the velocity reveals the 1000 ft/sec is only with 9.9 gr ammo, you are left thinking 1000 ft/sec is with standard pellets. Crosman's owners manual states roughly the same thing with 1000 ft/sec* (*using alloy pellets). Most reviews show that the average velocity range for a 14.3 grain pellet is only about 690-730 ft/sec. If this were disclosed by Crosman and the max velocity limitation made more apparent on the site, it would probably help customers to better select what they are looking for and not be disappointed with what they later find out ot be true.

The rifle is nicely built, quiet, and accurate. It is worth getting, especially if you don't need to have it fire over 730 ft/sec with a standard weight (~14.3 grain) pellet. If you do require something with more power, buy something else.

Love the stock, it just feels good. Shoots very well, the trigger is very good. I never adjusted it. It became very quiet after 100 shots. The scope is first class. I use .22 Benjamin Discovery Pellets 14.3 gr. and Crosman preimer 14.3 all bought at the local sports store and they shoot great. The cocking is smooth and easy, the pistol grip is comfortable, the barrel finish is great. The gun has such a hightech sniper look to it. The scope is one of the best ever combined with a rifle. I should buy a few for my other rifles.

Since this is a new rifle some problems are to be expected. The stock has been peeling. Not much , but it is. The breach seal seems to be tearing but it still shoots well. Crosman has been a first class company and is sending me a new stock and a breach seal. I have no complaints with them and they have stood behind their product.

All pellets seem to shoot well, except for the very light ones. Medium weight and the heavy weight pellets all group very well. decide which ones group the best and stay with them. Noise level is nice and low. Just a solid thunk and you hear the pellet hit the trap/target. Will make a very good hunter, yet killing paper all day is fun too. This gun is much more quiet then a Gamo Whisper, more fun to shoot and to me, not hold sensitive. I shoot off a rest until I know what this gun can do and I have had no problems. I also tried several different of holds and to me, a tight hold with my elbow down close to my body works well for me. I think a bi-pod work work well. I own several air rifles and this one is by far my favorite and I bought it right here at Pyramyd who double boxed it and had stuffed air pillows in the box. so everything arrived in great shape. This is a great rifle. I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Very comfortable stock to shoot offhand and the Center Point 3-9x40 scope is first rate. So far mine likes Meisterkugeln and Superdome 14-14.5 grain pellets. The gas piston is very easy to cock with smooth recoil. The trigger is heavy but very good... predictable consistent and safe. With the stock held softly against my shoulder and the for-end supported loosely in my cupped hand groups are 1/2" at 10 meters and the rifle isn't broken in yet. This is a quality package... I may need another one in .177.

I replaced the one piece scope mount with a 2 piece Beeman 5030 mount to move the scope back far enough for me.

A great rifle made in the USA. I would buy one again

Camo 22 cal. Feel, fit, look, new trigger, quiteness after breakin, weight, smooth break action and lock up(smoother than my RWS 34) and recoil.

So far only thing I would change is add pop up lens cover and maybe fixed sights.

First 100+ shots made before adding scope. Installed scope and it shot 1 1/2"low. Called PA and Scott said try shim first. Now dead on at 60'. During second hundred rounds she became much quieter and settled down. Averaging 710 fps with RWS SuperDome (14.5 gr) and old Benjamin Diablos. So far I have not had hold problems as others reported. Shooting loose to shoulder and resting in palm with light to no grip. Trigger very smooth to me and no adjustment needed from factory setting. Definite two stages felt in pull. Believe we may have a winner here! Ordered some Crosman Premiers to see if fps increases.
