    Things I liked:

Very nice replica. Mostly metal with a heavy feel. Fires almost like a "real" pistol. Power/velocity is very good. And fairly accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger isn't the finest. It's notchy, not smooth. It's a two-stage, but the second stage takes considerable pressure. The safety is really tight, although it's loosening up. The slide doesn't always lock back on the last shot. And the screw to secure the CO2 cartridge is plastic. It hasn't failed, but it makes you want to under-tighten, which can allow it to work loose and release the remaining CO2.

    What others should know:

Overall, it's a really nice pistol, which is fun to shoot. I'm getting 60 shots per cartridge.

    Things I liked:

Going to hand this to my hubby; Feral Cat will now do the typing: HI! HI! Feral-Cat here! What do I think...UM.. It's no real P-38/P1 BUT! Like those pistols, It's combat, not target accurate. It looks, feels real. Acccuracy for a smooth bore BB co2 replica can actually be outstanding! ...(with practice, and mastering the heavy trigger), as good or better than a real P-38! It'll punch through aluminum beverage cans past 15 yds(M's) At super close range it might be capable of pest control..IF!!!!..You can master that heavy trigger.

    Things I would have changed:

OK...If it;s going to be a P-38, it needs to be double action capable. Being only S.A. messes with my head. The trigger is super heavy. It could be lighter;(the PX-4, and non blowback Makarov are hard to beat). But, it's good exercise for those of us who've been shooting so long, we have arthritic trigger fingers! :) - :( While it has alot of punch for a replica CO2, that punch falls off quickly when firing more than 4-5 successive shots. More consistant metering wouud be nice..BUT!!??

    What others should know:

UM...yeah that d**M slide spring! :D OK, yeah...it's really easy upon disassembly even by the instructions to lose that thing. It's mentioned in a P.A, blog which I read, as well as a few post on google. If you must follow the need to do a takedown, take it down in a large plastic bag that'll catch the parts! SERIOUSLY! "IF" you actually catch the spring, putting it back is not that hard. I know, I've done it um...5 times? :D ..And that includes spending an hour looking for it for it the first time after NOT diassembling it in a bag! ;) OK...Um yeah I guess that's about it..LATERS! :D

    Things I liked:

It looks like the firearm and doesn't have those horrible white warnings. That's it.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is really heavy and rough what makes it difficult to have consistent groups at 24 feet. Umarex should release a new version with light trigger, accurate, really field-strippable, CO2 in the magazine, full blowback and with the same quality of the Luger P08, incorporating the double action and the warning pin when it is ready to fire, like the real firearm. It also deserves a more real metal finish.

    What others should know:

The first 20 shots, at 24 feet in a rested position, were 1-inch low in a 2.5-inch group most to the left. From the second to the third magazine it kept moving left and going down. On the third magazine I had to correct 1.5-inch high and 1 3/8-inch right to be able to shoot (very carefully) 19 BBs inside the 3-inch circle. You can get 80 shots per CO2, but the last 15 shots already indicate loss of power. The CO2 piercing is not easy, you have to twist really hard to well perforate the cylinder and the slide rattles.

    Things I liked:

My father had a P 38 brought home after the war which I fired a number of times. This air pistol looks and handles like the real thing. With the blowback action on the slide it feels like the real thing except the recoil is obviously only a fraction of the firearm. I’ve not had a chance to determine the accuracy yet.

    Things I would have changed:

The plastic handle grip is much lighter and tone The handle grip is much darker in the real thing. That is probably because after use in the field and oiling the gun the wood became much darker.

    What others should know:

If you cock the hammer and decide to release it can be a little tricky

    Things I liked:

Very faithful reproduction. If only the handles were real wood! The real W P38 has a long 2 stage trigger pull as does this reproduction. This one smooth as butter after break-in. After racking slide for 1st shot, BB can roll out of barrel - I have targets set so barrel is always pointing up a bit. For the following 19 SA shots there are no BB roll out problems. The long barrel delivers strong muzz. veloc. (easily 400 fps) and great accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

    White dot the sights

    What others should know:

Fingernail polish needed on front sight at least. I did rear also. Be sure to tighten CO2 cartridge puncture screw amply and put small drop of Pellgun oil on every other charge's tip. Buy another 5 mags (inexpensive) so you have 120 shots ready for each CO2 charge at the range.

    Things I liked:

I have only tested this gun twice. Feels solid and had a fine punch to the blowback. Accuracy not impressive. When changing for the second CO2 it started to leak terribly. Tried to spray with silicon spray and used oil on the CO2 tip but with not success. Finally I decided to dismount it only to find that it was nearmost impossible to put back together agian (watch out - it has a spring at the right side that can easally pop away). After finding a german youtube clip on the internet I managed to put it together but was not able to fix the problem with the leak. Thus only one CO2 canister and then the gun was just to throw in the garbage. I own well over 50 air pistols and this was by far my worst experience. Still I will give it 2 stars as I like that Umarex tries to make historical replicas and that the gun fells nice in the hand.

    Things I would have changed:

Make the thing work - not leak CO2.

    Things I liked:

The true to form design of this replica. The stout recoil. The magazine follower locks back and loading is easy. Piercing the powerlet is leak free. The BB's listed in the final section below shot to the point of aim at 6 yards windage wise. I made slight adjustments in how I elevated or lowered the front sight to put them in the center of the bull. All of the BB's named below shot into slightly less than an inch for the majority of shots. The trigger was measured at 7 lbs - 10 oz.at the start of use but it felt much heavier. It was really heavy! Several hundred shots later it worked in and became much lighter at 5 lbs - 9 oz. It changed rather quickly so I think a burr or something got worked off. It made a tremendous difference in the shoot-ability. The front sight was very difficult to see for alignment until I carefully painted the rear face white with a Q-Tip dampened with spray paint. My rating of course should not reflect these changes but the pistol has inherent potential.

    Things I would have changed:

I had some problems with this pistol real quick. At my fourth shot a BB jammed in the chamber. I did not realize it and fired a second shot. I had a double-jam and the pistol locked up and the magazine could not be removed. I moved the take down lever and slid the barrel out of the frame. While removing the magazine, the slide came off and the spring they warn about got loose. I did not lose it but I did not know where it came from. By examination of the details in the frame and slide I figured it out but did not see the proper procedure for replacing it until I had bent it badly attempting to put the slide back on. I thought since there was no replacement spring the pistol may be lost. Instructions should be provided in the Owner's Manual for putting it back in place. I later figured out how and it is not complicated. There is a channel on the right side of the frame that after the slide is installed allows you to slip the spring into its place. Replacement springs would be nice.

    What others should know:

The problem that caused the jam was that the chamber was undersized. Several premium quality BB's all jammed in later use. When I sized the chamber it was found to be .1570". A BB is nominally .173". I opened up my chamber (the material is a hard rubber) to .1695" and all but one of the 14 BB types I have would now work flawlessly. (I did not attempt to use Crosman as they are not very well made.) The one BB that still jammed is the Marksman Premium, but the Laserhawk works fine. I replaced my damaged spring with one of identical diameter but with a denser pitch and therefore slightly stronger. I put the small follower in the end and slid it into place in the channel. It works beautifully. This spring is not sold individually but can be found in the Wolff Light Duty Coil Spring Pak - English. The stock # is 16075. I found mine at MIDWAY USA. Accuracy is variable from each BB style but excellent from ASG Blaster, Umarex, Remington, Daisy Match Grade (Avanti), and Excite Smart shot.

    Things I liked:

Looks and feels good - although the shiny paint finish looks like it belongs in a Maaco commercial. I sanded mine down a bit. Reasonable power. Accuracy good for a BB pistol.

    Things I would have changed:

Blowback is a bit weak. They need to do something to smooth out the trigger pull - very lumpy.

    What others should know:

This is a very loud pistol.

    Things I liked:

Look and feel is superb. At 10 yards it ate a 2in hole just left and slightly below the heart on my center mass target on 1 C02 cartridge and 5 magazines. Blowback is excellent, and locks back every time when the magazine is empty. Good fps up to the 70th round or so then it slowly drops off from there. Trigger is good, and if your hand position on the grip is good, you will develop a good steady pull quickly. Quality is excellent.

    Things I would have changed:

Wood grips. The plastic is ok and looks ok, but it takes away from the feel in your hand.

    What others should know:

This pistol is a blast to shoot. For a bb gun the fps is good and the accuracy is good enough to enjoy. Its a Walther, and you will know it when you are shooting it. A great little gun.

    Things I liked:

I've owned a WWII P-38. I always wonder why I sold it since it was a very good, excellent condition, pistol. I like the fact that this particular blowback BB pistol is so accurately done. Heft, hand feel, and overall accuracy of the copy is really spot on with this pistol. I have the one with the working safety on the slide, and not part of the slide catch.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger pull is a bit rough. I understand the situation with the blowback feature and how BBs are brought up to the chamber. For the blowback feature this is okay with me.

    What others should know:

Apparently the new models have incorporated the safety in the slide latch and put the letters "F" and "S" onto the grip itself. It looks "okay" but is as accurate as putting the safety where it is on the new PPK/S.

    Things I liked:

The look, feel, weight and detail are spot on. Embossed rather then white painted caution info. Quick removing barrel. Hidden CO2 thumb screw. Recessed front part of barrel. No seams.

    Things I would have changed:

Obviously the lacquered finish that looks like paint. The 3mm slide return spring is too light and gets loose after a number of firings. Also very difficult to replace. Grips look OK, but feels cheesy.Safety works if pushed all the way, but should be corrected. Allen rather then thumb type CO2 screw for thick fingers. Adjustable sights. Possible double action if feed mechanism can be changed to prevent BB's from rolling out or doubling. Better trigger pull if feed mechanism can be corrected. Make small parts available for those that can do minor repairs.

    What others should know:

DO NOT remove top slide or return spring will get lost and is very difficult to replace. Safety needs to be pushed all the way to the end to fully operate. Do not move slide back and forth when shooting to prevent roll out and BB's doubling.Accuracy is hit and miss for this short a smooth bore barrel. For the avid collectors, this gun fills the bill as a show piece.

    Things I liked:

Great Replica BB gun, functions and feels like the real thing. I also found the accuracy fairly good. Worked perfectly from the first shot with no jams even after 100+ shots. I highly recommend it!

    Things I would have changed:

Since the barrel is removable, it would be nice to have other (longer) barrels offered as accessories.

    What others should know:

The functioning of my gun was a bit stiff at first (particularly the safety latch) but after a quick oiling everything worked fine. So my suggestion is to oil well before firing it. [Note: I'm submitting this second review because the rating stars didn't work in my first review]

    Things I liked:

The details are spot on. The weight, feel and handling is identical to the real thing. Embossed rather then white painted caution info. Field strip is easy except for rear slide section.

    Things I would have changed:

Needs a more natural finish over high gloss. A better designed blow back return spring. At 3mm it tends to weaken with constant use and causes loose slide. Also very difficult to replace. BB's tend to roll out or double easily when gun is pointed down. Top section should come off as one piece, as in real model. Needs allen screw type tightener for CO2, due to people with large fingers. A full drop out magazine with the CO2 would be more desirable, but due to feed design, it might be difficult to install.

    What others should know:

DO NOT remove rear slide, as it will lose return spring and is extremely difficult to replace. Accuracy is so so for that short a smooth bore barrel, but it still shoots well. The safety works if pushed all the way to the end. If your a collector of authentic looking guns, this one is recommended.

    Things I liked:

The look, feel and weight are right. The power is quite strong for a blowback pistol. It accurate enough, sounds a little loud but that is a plus.

    Things I would have changed:

Finish is a bit to bright. I think the grips should a black bakite type as opposed to walnut style.

    What others should know:

I am getting between 60 to 70 shots from a co2 cart. A great piece to own. Can't wait to see what they can do with a Nippon Nambu!!
