Things I liked:

I've extensively tested this pellet externally and terminally. I have concluded that this is the ultimate hollow point pellet. This pellet has demonstrated incredible terminal performance and shock that must be seen to be believed. An impact velocity of 1100 [ft/s^{-1}] into a ballistics gelatin medium with a density of 0.035 [pounds/(inches^{3})^{-1}] will yield a penetration of 2.5" and a final expansion diameter of 0.366" (calculated maximum expansion diameter of 0.568"). Extrapolated from the kinetic energy of this pellet traveling at 1100 [ft/s^{-1}] with a penetration of 2.5", the pellet will yield a shock coefficient of 20.4 [(foot-pounds)-inch^{-1}] relative to the density of the ballistics gelatin medium. This pellet also poses great quality, the actual average weight is 18.1 grains +/- 0.1 grains and the average length is 0.305" +/- 0.001", you cannot complain about that consistency folks!

Things I would have changed:

I absolutely love the terminal performance of this pellet, but the worst thing about it is the external performance. The ballistic coefficient is absolutely horrible, using chronographs I calculated the ballistic coefficient to be 0.018 relative to the G1 drag function, for comparison I calculated the ballistic coefficient of the .22 caliber 16 grain Predator Polymag to be 0.052 relative to the G1 drag function. I would redesign the whole entire pellet, changing the weight mostly, to increase the ballistic coefficient, yet still incorporate the lovely deep expansion cup that makes this pellet so great and unique.

What others should know:

I would recommend this pellet for use at only short distances due to it's low ballistic coefficient. Only use in applications where deep penetration isn't a concern, this pellet will transfer it's kinetic energy very quickly, more quickly than the majority of the pellets out there, you will be hard pressed to find a pellet that can out perform it in shock factor. Accuracy was good in my Condor, about 1" at 25 yards, could be better, could be worse. It's not much of a concern anyhow because I use them for close range anyhow. Buy a tin and see what happens, most likely you'll like the results!

Things I liked:

These thing are terrible with my Ben Discovery. At 30 yards, 25 shots look like someone hit the target with a shotgun! No two shots hit the same area of the target.

Things I would have changed:

Wouldn't have bought them.

What others should know:

These are fine out to 10 yards as long as it is not a windy day. Guess they are called crow mags cause that is the smallest animal you are likely to be able to hit at 10 yards with these things.

    What others should know:

A lot of people are complaining about accuracy. It says on the H&N website that these are SHORT TO MEDIUM RANGE hunting pellets.

    Things I liked:

U sed to hunt with these in .177 with great success. Gonna try them this season in .22 and .25 cal. Did some country boy ballistics tests on all three and they performed spectacularly. Great expansion, good accuracy and they hit like a freight train.

    Things I would have changed:

make the diameters a little more consistent. The target guys will want to sort them.

    What others should know:

They need to be tried for fit in your bbl, these run kind of large. wouldn't even fit in my NP2.

Heavy and pack a punch. Great for hunting game and pests.

    Things I would have changed:

    Upgrade to match quality.

    What others should know:

These are good for short to mid range but accuracy can be fickle in some rifles.

    Things I liked:

I've forgoten how much these pellets expand on impact. I still had a few of the old Beemen's left from years ago that i just used up.They are accurate out to 30 yards in my Gamo Hunter 1250 .22. It's been hard to find them in stock up here in Canada since C-19 started two years ago. Quality is still outstanding.

    Things I would have changed:

Not a thing .You dont fix what aint broke....... right....... Koodoos to H&N

    What others should know:

I haven't tried the JSB Hades to compare them yet . If someone has, I would like to know how they fair.

    Things I liked:

These pellets have maximum expansion for hunting and adequate penetration. I tested this pellet with my .22 cal Diana 350 Magnum at 10 yds between the eyes on a deer head carcass. The pellet penetrated the hide and skull then broke in half inside smashing flat. I found the pellet at the back of the brain. If it will penetrate a deer head it will work on any small or medium game which was the point of the test. I don't think there is a pellet out there that will expand more. I also love how it makes a wadcutter type hole in paper targets. The pellet fits snugly in my springer with a very satisfying feel. It's a long pellet so it's easy to handle in the tin and load without dropping. The price is excellent too.

    Things I would have changed:

At close range this pellet is very accurate but beyond 40 yds it loses stability and accuracy suffers greatly. At 35 yds they are very accurate. I use these for squirrel hunting because I'm always close. No more lost game on body shots! If there is a chance of a long range shot I would try another pellet. Also, the b.c. sucks so wind can really blow these around. Also, I love the name of this pellet. How can you not!

Fast expansion. Use it for birds and small game. I use it on rats. I shoot the HN hunter extreme for larger game, these are almost the same weight and don't require a different scope setting. Large round nose is like a wad cutter, leaves great holes on a target and really rings a steel target. To top it off, it's very inexpensive.

    Things I would have changed:

    Larger tins

    What others should know:

Buy 3 get one Free from Pyramydair makes these pellets price competitive with the cheapest on the market. But you get H&N quality and Pyramydair packing and shipping.

They were free because I bought something else. I was just curious and wanted to check them out so I got the standard h&n Hunter.

    Things I would have changed:

It's hard to say but it would be nice if you could actually hit something past 20 yards. If they were anything like the hunters then there would be little to change.

    What others should know:

There's a large hollow up front and it's also very wide. I think it's like too wide and makes these things want to go sideways. At close ranges they're devastating.

pellet does major damage in 177, 22 and 25

    Things I would have changed:

nothing, unless they maybe put 250 per tin

    What others should know:

I zero all of my guns @ 50 yrds, and at least 900-975 FPS. At that distance and speed these pellets shoot very good. Try to do head shots, because body/chest shots don't leave much meat on birds, and does major internal damage on squirrels and rabbits. Still a good shooting pellet in (MY GUNS) can't say if other guns shoot them well but my pcp's do.

    Things I liked:

I own 20 various air rifles and these are always my #1 starting point pellets. I've yet to find a rifle in .177, .22, or .25 caliber that these don't shoot well in. They're not always the MOST accurate pellets in some rifles but they're always at least near the most accurate in every rifle I own whether break barrel or PCP. They're also incredibly lethal on small game that I have taken with them from squirrels up to woodchucks. One shot instant dispatches if I do my part and textbook mushrooms from all recovered pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

I wouldn't change anything except for the fact that I have a few rifles with rotary magazines that these are just a tad too long to work/feed correctly. In that case I switch over to the Barracuda Hunter pellets which are very similar but a tad shorter and very similar to these Crow Magnum pellets.

    What others should know:

Only that if you have a rifle that uses a rotary magazine these my not function properly without "hanging up" in the magazine.

    Things I liked:

I have 4 spring piston air rifles. All prefer crow mags. I initially was disappointed in accuracy on first use in all guns...til after break in and barrel leading/ polishing. Only Terminators can match c.m. at 50 and under yards.NOW!!. SUPERIOR KNOCKDOWN!! The broad surface imparts incomparable tissue damage..rips..not slips through. My lots seem HARDER than previous tins. I can now rely on skull/ hard-target penetration...along with accuracy and kinetic energy DELIVERY...even on pass- thru. I have 20 different weights and brands. Name one. I got it. Up to 33.9 gr. Slugs too. Crow mag is tops...ALL AROUND. Like 150 gr. 30-06 centerfire.

    Things I would have changed:

At 28.9 ftlbs in my Beeman mach 12.5. .22 it is optimal. For 50 ftlb. Or so pcp...a 33.0 gr should satisfy all midrange needs. So ...a heavier version for pcp guns. Terminator is already lighter version.

    What others should know:

If your gun can make 17 plus foot pounds...do whatever it takes to make it shoot these accurate. All air rifles "icepick" prey due to low hydrostatic shock values..hence most pellets at high velocity pass thru icepick-like..energy-dumping in the air in cases of thinner-skinned . If you get a pass thru with these..its a " cookie-cutter " wound...but a little rough on the exit side. I hunt. Humane as possible. This helps.
