    Things I liked:

My rifle seems to love them, the price, clean fingers.

    Things I would have changed:

    I only got 40 tins.

    What others should know:

FWB 300S, 30 years old, 200500 shots today. I received my order yesterday, and they already gave me my best Relative Standard Deviation so far. All the strings are 100 shots each, in my inside range, over a Prochrono Digital with the LEDs. H&N Excite Econ: Avg vel: 600fps, SD: 2.9, RSD: 0.5%. RWS Meisterkugeln gave 557, 6.5, 1.2%, Winchester FP gave 403, 36.9, 9.2%, RWS Basic (best of 9 strings) are 627, 4.3, 0.7% and RWS Basic (Worst of 9 strings) are 593, 11.3, 1.9%. The numbers talk to me. Secondarily, the service of Pyramyd Air was perfect: very fast shipping and the pellets were undamaged (Foam inserts).

    Things I liked:

The Econs provide excellent accuracy in all eleven of my .177 air rifles, even the low velocity, smooth bore Daisy 845.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

I order twelve tins at a time and Pyramid Air charges me for nine. Even with shipping costs I get great pellets at a great price.

    Things I liked:

I ordered these pellets to try in my various 177 air rifles. I use them mostly for casual plinking. The accuracy has been excellent out to about 25 yards for this purpose. I have not tried them at any longer distance. I have not noted any damaged pellets in the tin. I also like the price. Next time I order, I'll order 4 tins to take advantage of the 4 for 3 that PA offers.

Great price, quantity, quality and accuracy. Good general plinking round for lower powered pistol.

    Things I would have changed:

    Would not change a thing.

    What others should know:

Once I was over 600 fps accuracy seems to drop off in my 1377. Below that ragged single whole at 4.9mm were common.

    Things I liked:

I use the Excite Econ pellets primarily to practice with my P17. Shot in a pellet pistol league last winter (using H&N Match Pistol 7.5gr, RWS R10 Match 7gr ) and being the newbie and older than other shooters and the only non-bullseye trained person and having the ONLY pistol under $300-$1500, I was low man on the score sheet; but I still had fun. I'm not very consistent, but I have shot up to a 46 with these pellets using 25' slow fire NRA pistol targets in my garage.

    Things I would have changed:

    in this price range- nothing!

    What others should know:

On small powder balance weights were good at 7.495-7.51

    Things I liked:

Everything. My second order of Econs was for twelve tins. Pyramid's offer of four tins for the price of three brought the cost per tin down so much, that even with postage, they are the best buy on the market. Cost aside they are great.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Subsequent tests in eight different airguns, at velocities ranging from 500 fps to the mid-900 fps, convinced me that any inaccuracy that I encounter shooting the Econs isn't the fault of the pellet.

    Things I would have changed:

The Steyr LP10 was chosen for this test to enable these pellet to shoot their best. It is a world class PCP air pistol that will out shoot most rifles listed on this site. However, at $2,000 plus... is unreasonable for most peoples budgets. I tested several different pellets through this purpose built, 10M pistol, and here's what I came up with... With the LP10 gingerly clamped in a vise, I found that overall, target arms prefer the heavier pellets to produce the best accuracy. I this case 8.13 grain projectiles. You'll have to test pellet diameter through your individual gun. All measurements are average group size from edge to edge. Should you so desire, by subtracting .177 from these numbers, you will have center to center (C/C) group size. All shot at 10M, cleaned between 20 shot groups, 5 shots per string yadda yadda...... Hands down best... H&N Finale Match .232,...that’s less than ten thousandths of an inch group size C/C. Second, Beeman brand H&N Match .270 RWS R10 .280 Champions choice brand .348 RWS Hobby .351 RWS Meisterkugeln .361 H&N Excite Econ .401 Crosman Competitions .492 RWS Diabolo Basic .572 Gamo target .579 It really seems to ring true...You get what you pay for!

    What others should know:

Mind you all of these pellets, except for the Gamo and the Basic, will hold the 10 ring on a 10M pistol target...all day long. Incidentally, I have a good supply of Hobby's for practice and just ordered a few thousand H&N Excite ECON's. For game day, I ordered a supply of the Finale Match. Now, I have been a competitive shooter for many years, and expanded great deals of time, money and gray hair developing my opinions. I'm not a firm believer in theory that “you must test all projectiles in your gun to see what it likes best”. I have had much greater success matching the chosen weapon with the correct TYPE of ammo for the velocity you will be shooting...in this case under 600fps. I have also found that in terms of accuracy, projectile DIAMETER is most crucial, followed closely by weight, then profile. Expecting the above target grade pellets to give results like these in your 15,521 fps gas piston break barrel is bemusing at best! Domed, or pointy, heavy hunting rounds will serve you better as the wadcutter becomes unstable at higher speeds. (look at the picture of the H&N pellet tins, They have rating that will give an Idea of which KIND of pellet to buy, regardless of brand) Keep in mind...If your intentions are to turn some pesky varmint into a cloud of red vapor...these are NOT the pellets or launch platform for you! If you must have extreme accuracy AND cataclysmic affect, you may need to buy TWO rifles...and I'm sure Pyramyd Air would be happy to assist you!

    Things I liked:

Price and accuracy. Buying eight tins and getting four for the price of three negates the shipping cost. The overall rating of four is the result of poor performance in a low velocity air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

I benchrest tested the H&N Exceed Econ pellets at ten meters, firing three five-shot groups in six different air rifles. They shot well in five. Groups with the Daisy 953, rated at 500 fps, were abysmal despite the fact that it is one of my more accurate rifles. The pellets proved most accurate in my vintage Walther LVG Special (650 fps, chronographed with RWS Basics) and, surprisingly, my pneumatic Crosman 1377 which is equipped a scope, stock and a 24 inch barrel. The results with the choked barreled LVG were as expected since it shoots even substandard pellets well. The pellets were not accurate in the 1377 using the usual six pumps; however nine pumps produced quarter inch groups. My Slavia 634, rated around 750 fps, shot three groups measuring 3/8 inch. Since the test, I have been shooting the Econs exclusively in the Slavia for off-hand practice with consistently good results. My Crosman Vantage and Quest 1000, both equipped with Williams 5D sights, averaged around a 1/2 inch. The groups, with three or four shots cutting each other, were all enlarged by flyers. Since both Crosmans are hold sensitive and I dislike the artillery hold I will attribute the flyers to shooter error since I've had similar results with match grade pellets in these rifles. The only negative comment I can make about the Econs is they may require velocities 600 fps and above to be shot accurately. Whether velocities above 800 fps have an adverse effect on accuracy has yet to be determined.

    Things I liked:

Very uniform. Skirts are clean. Top fits well on the tin without a threaded top. Surprisingly accurate at this price. While they do shoot best at around 600-650 fps, I have a springer that will shoot them at 960 fps and stack them at 20 meters. The advertisement states that these pellets are best used at 10 meters. I have found them to shoot well at two to three times that distance out of a rifle. Impressive performance for a cheap pellet.

    Things I would have changed:

    can't think of anything.

    What others should know:

I was using Gamo Match as my plinker pellet of choice. The last batch had terrible flashing around the skirts, 50% of them! These econ pellets are far better than the Gamo Match. Every one of these pellets shoot the same and shoot well. Sorry Gamo, your quality control sucks. Take a lesson from H&N. These pellets are only $.50 more per tin than Gamo Match and shoot far better.

My new favorite pellet. Put every hit inside the 8 ring at 43 feet with a FWB 65 shooting freehand (no rest) 20 shot group shooting at a 10 meter target. Pretty much tore out the 10 ring. These pellets are very uniform and the price is right.
