Released in 2014, the Benjamin Trail NP2 quickly became one of the most popular breakbarrels on the market. With a combination of quiet shooting, easy cocking, and a good trigger, the original NP2 had a lot going for it already - but Crosman isn't finished making improvements to this airgun.

The quiet NP2 is now even quieter as the Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston 2 SBD. The SBD (Silencing Barrel Device) adds an improved barrel shroud that makes the NP2 SBD 3x quieter than other breakbarrels in its class. The asymmetric and removable shroud is specially designed to keep the silencer out of view when using a scope, and to expose the baffles, making cleaning easier than ever before!

This version sports a hardwood stock with integrated sling swivels if you want to make your NP2 easier to carry in the field. Resting atop the rifle is a Picatinny optics rail for fitting the included 3-9x32 scope for zeroing in on your prey - whether paper or pest.

The Trail NP2 SBD keeps all the features that made the original Trail NP2 a great breakbarrel. The Trail SBD takes advantage of Crosman's Nitro Gas Piston technology; making it easy to cock, reducing vibration, and operating well in cold weather, unlike traditional spring pistons. As if all of this wasn't good enough, this airgun is assembled by American workers in Crosman's manufacturing headquarters in Bloomfield, New York!

This combination of features are ideal for shooters looking for a quiet, accurate, and easy to use breakbarrel that's ready to shred targets or dispatch any pest on your perimeter!

Things I liked:

Got the 22. model last week , great gun, mine did not come with front sight on moderator , so no issues with seeing front sight in scope , ( did not use the scope that came with it ) they can do better with the scope choice/manufacturer .

Things I would have changed:

make it chrono what the box says ( does not )

What others should know:

great 22. powerful enough dependant on the pellet choice, and accurate with all the ammo i use , truly a great gun for just over $200

Things I liked:

accurate for my use (vermin control), quiet, solidly built.

Things I would have changed:

the front sight is too tall, its visible in the scope, a little distorting the view. The trigger is too heavy.

What others should know:

takes some time to sight it. It was all over the place in the beginning. Probably took me 50 or so shots to sight it but now its accurate.

  • Edward from USA asked:

I was going to buy this rifle until I saw it was missing the rear open site. It has the front blade. Did the manufactures forget it, or is it used to help site the optic in? Most air rifle today have no open sites making them useless, unless you purchase a good optic that won't fall apart costing more then the rifle. They got you coming and going.

    • Mark from USA answered:

Crosman makes the shroud unit with a front blade. The Mayhem, Rogue,Iron Heart, and Vaporizer have the rear sight installed. The powerplant is the same.

  • James from USA asked:

I'm new to this rifle. I cld use any help for what weight pellet wld be best for accuracy & hunting. What should be a good breakin period. All help appreciated. Answear here or my e-mail is bigbo670@gmail.com. Thx. Bo

    • Josephine from USA asked:

Sound level and groupings tested on .177 similiar for .22 caliber ?

      • Miles from USA answered:

I don't know as for the groupings I would assume the.22 may be a hair tighter because a a heavier pellet is going to be more consistent but as for the sound the.177 will have more of a tendency to have it's pellets breath the sound barrier but even with 7.4 grain.177 pellets the only time I have had a pellet breath the sound barrier is when the rifle was new out of the box and was had a desiling effect but after about 10 shots that will go away and as long as you are using subsonic pellets there should be no different nce in sound from the.22
