Things I liked:

This valve is nicely designed and well executed. The rotary valve functions very smoothly and allows for precise control of the rate of airflow. There is no flow restriction in the valve, so if you open it a lot you get a massive blast of air. But the valve can be controlled easily for filling smaller tanks once you learn it. The gauge is big and easy to read. The handle is very nice feature - mine is on a 9L tank that weighs over 20 pounds when full of air, so it is nice for moving it around.

Things I would have changed:

While the on-board dead head is a nice feature, functioning both as a place to "dock" the unused end of the fill whip and a way to see precisely how much air is in the tank, I think a small gauge that directly reads tank pressure would be a nice functional addition. It would let you see immediately at least approximately how much air is in the tank at all times without taking any additional steps - after all, charging the line and then venting it wastes air, and depending on the tank size this could matter more or less. The high pressure vent works well but is designed with a flow path such that the full force of high-pressure air blasts right on the hand that is opening it. While not dangerous, it sure is startling. My other tank valves diffuse the air flow such that this does not happen, and I like them better. Also, quality control needs to be stepped up as mine leaked out of the box.

What others should know:

Quality control needs to be improved. Mine had three leaks out of the box, the worst of which was a defective burst disc - I had a spare that I swapped in to fix it, and when I contacted Saber Tactical about it they apologized and sent me three replacements for free. The other two leaks were from the tape joints on the pressure gauge and the foster fill fitting, and I was able to easily correct these by redoing them - I decided to do it all myself rather than deal with a return. Fortunately, I tested the valve on a small 500cc tank first, and noticed the leak down problem - careful submersion in water showed the source of the leaks. They were slow leaks, but none should exist on a valve. The one at the burst disc would have wasted a full tank fill; the others only leaked when the fill line was pressurized and thus were less critical, but still should not exist. Now it works fine after the fix. There is an adapter for use on 18x1.5 tank threads (ST0037) but PA did not carry it.

Things I liked:

The Saber Tactical valve was an upgrade to a carbon fiber tank I had. I have one on another tank, so wanted to keep things universal. The valve works fine, has large knobs for easy controls. The pressure gauge is large and easy to view your pressure readings, along with the carry handle.

Things I would have changed:

Venting on your hand.

What others should know:

Good purchase and Pyramyd Air was fast and easy to use.
