Gamo has entered the field of gas pistons with a Whisper! The Bone Collector Bull Whisper IGT air rifle is not only incredibly powerful, but it has many special features that'll set it apart from ordinary breakbarrel rifles with regular metal springs. Their proprietary gas piston means you can cock the gun and wait to take your next shot without worrying about a metal spring taking a set or weakening. Gas pistons are robust and do not lose anything in either area. Plus, gas pistons are known to shoot MUCH smoother and deliver less twang and vibration to the shooter!
Let's talk about the Shock Wave Absorber recoil pad. There's an entire industry centered around making aftermarket recoil pads. Their intent is to reduce the felt recoil, because constant recoil pounding into your shoulder is painful and will stop you from shooting as much as you want. While the gas piston is going to seriously reduce the vibration, the SWA recoil pad will stop you from feeling most of the recoil from the remaining movement of the gun.
In the past, Gamo customers have swapped out their triggers with aftermarket ones. No need to do that anymore! The Custom Action Trigger is light years better than the previous version. It's smooth and predictable and allows you to tailor the trigger to your personal preferences. What will that do for you? It'll improve your groups. Unpredictable and heavy triggers or triggers that don't break crisply are often responsible for delivering larger groups. You'll be amazed at how good a shot you are when you shoot the Bone Collector Bull Whisper IGT air rifle!

light and ACCURATE! WOW! i was quite surprised to find this rifle so accurate and quiet. i don't know why P.A. rates the sound level a 3, i'd give it a 2 at most. this gun is way quieter than my gamo raptor whisper.
Things I would have changed:the scope is junk. after a thorough break in, the scope was installed and it failed within 50 rounds. the cross hairs where at 45* after 100 rounds.
What others should know:my rifle loves the gamo red tip pellets. yours will vary. very backyard friendly.

1. Everything! The color scheme is visually appealing. 2. Fit and finish is very classy. 3. The break-in time for the barrel is next to non-existent. 4. Contrary to most of my experiences and perhaps yours, the factory-supplied scope is actually good! The effort required to break open the barrel is easier that most, and is smooth to boot. 5. The trigger is smooth, with a guestimated pull of 3.5-4 pounds, and breaks cleanly. At 23 yards, I can wear out a bullseye in no time. Honestly, what I do now is shoot a hole, and that hole then becomes my target. This is one accurate rifle given the class that it's in!
Things I would have changed:I really can't think of anything I'd change. Mine loves the economical Crosman Premier hollowpoints (.177 / 7.9 grains). It packs a punch...enough to make it a bad day for crows!
What others should know:As with all break-barrels: 1. Clean the bore before shooting 2. Oil all pivot and metal-to-metal points 3. Use loctite on stock and sight mount screws 4. Learn the artillery hold 5. Practice breathing technique. 6. Be aware that the allen wrench isn't a hex type, but a rather a torx style. Actually I like this better because screws are less likely to strip out. Given that nearly all scopes come with hex-head allen wrenches, it WOULD be a nice touch if an extra wrench was provided, but I have a set of torx wrenches anyway, so it's no biggie.

How do you load it and does it require a special brand or type of bb
I understand that the Gamo Bone Collector, Raptor and Wildcat has the same IGT power, velocity, weight and recoil. However the only with the RRR option is the Bone Collector. Is it really necessary? or the other 2 rifles will hurt the scope system? I use in the Wildcat Whisper . 22 caliber the Accushot 1 Pc rings and Hammer 3-9X40AO scope, pellets Crosman 14.3 gr.
Necessary, no. Hard to say it helps. I've had scopes break on the RRR system before.

This gun is very powerful. The heft makes it feel much more like a real rifle , which, in turn, makes me shoot it better. The original scope and mount were ok for plinking I guess, but not consistent. After changing it for a BSA 2-7 x32 with objective focus and 4 screw base, wow. Night and day difference, truly accurate a pleasure to shoot. Red fire pellets, as others have said, really shoot great. Quarter size and smaller groups at 30yds. I think the gun can do better, I'm probably the issue but it takes squirrels cleanly out to 40yds which has been my farthest opportunity. The wife also gets great groups and enjoys it for practice when we can't get to the range with our real rifles.
Things I would have changed:As said before, just change the scope and mount out of the gate, don't waste time and ammo with the old one. Use a torque wrench when mounting.
What others should know:It is fairly loud but not rifle loud, the pba pellets sound like a .22lr tho. I loaned mine to a friend for squirrel control and he and his 2 neighbors bought 1 of these and 2 maxxim whisper bone collectors, virtually the same gun. My first gas piston gun and I'm liking it over my very old bee man springer. I would have given 5 star overall but scope and mount change raised investment amount.
