The weaver rings are much larger and lock in place more securely. Because my scope has short eye relief, I may hang it off the back of the scope rail and the weaver scope rings should be able to hold it without problems.
I can use my open sights by looking underneath the weaver rings and thru the mount!
Things I would have changed:To much compensation! At 20 meters I ran out of elevation compensation and shoot 1/2" to high. What others should know:Even with the over compensation, I'm keeping it because the weaver rings are much better in my opinion and I can still use the open sights for close in targets.

Change the finish a little to match the more satin finish used in the Accushot scope rings; it?s okay but doesn?t quite match. What others should know:We first bought a set of low mount scope rings to minimize the height change. It didn?t work, the 32mm diameter & short length of the stock scope interfered with the compensator mount. Bought a set of medium height Accushot rings and all went together nicely.

Things I would have changed:This base is so high that with the first rings I tried it with I could hardly get a sight picture without sticking my neck out What others should know:This base overcompensated for the droop in my 34 and I ended up having to shim the front rings which is the opposite to what you do with other bases that don't compensate for the droop. I bought it so I wouldn't have to shim, so this aspect was disappointing. I also had a severe windage problem that I couldn't figure out. In fairness to this base, it could have been the rings I used but I ran out of windage adjustment and couldn't get it zeroed. I kept running out of left windage adjustment. I finally gave up and used the Leapers Accushot one piece base and rings with the stop pin of the base hung over the front of the dovetail and a hard plastic shim under the scope at the rear ring. This works fine, and the only reason I was switching to the new "anti-droop" base is I thought it was a more elegant solution. It's not. At least it wasn't for me. The base makes the scope sit so high it looks and feels awkward. Use the Accushot one piece base and rings, hang the pin over the front of the dovetail, and, if you need to, shim the rear ring. It makes a solid mount that looks right and works great.

Things I would have changed:I mounted it on a model 36 and unless other models have way more barrel droop than my 36, 20.7 inches at 30 yards is gross overkill. In my case half of that would be sufficient. I was able to adjust the elevation adequately on my scope to make it work. What others should know:if you mount a long scope on this base with a two piece mount, you may not be able to achieve as much forward movement of the scope as you would like. If you are just a recreational shooter, you will compensate and be happy with your purchase.

A little bit lower would have been better. You CAN'T have a proper alignment of your eye with the scope while keeping your cheekbone in the stock. I plan to use some comb padding. What others should know:Even if this problem is not related with the mount, please consider it seriously: Leapers rings are made of aluminum. There is no way you could tighten them properly without damaging them. Use some serius rings. I am thinking about using leupold PRWs

I used a couple of different scopes on this mount and found that some still did need shimming, while others didn't. If you have a scope with limited elevation, you may run out of clicks. If you're have this issue, try different brand scopes. I initially used this base with a 3-9x40 and 4-16x40 centerpoint and ran out of clicks (was still 1" high at 20 yards). I then tried a leapers and a bushnell and didn't have any issues. Other than that, this is an excellent, economical solution...

Things I would have changed:For what it is, I wouldn't change a thing. The majority of RWS springers will greatly benifit from this mount. What others should know:Not all RWS models have the amount of barrel droop that this mount compensates for. This mount didn't work for my particular gun (model 34) because it over compensated. I use a Leupold straight 6x for optics and a Beeman one piece mount. With this setup I shot about 12" low at 30 yards and had to use most of my elevation upwards adjustment to correct it. With the new Leapers mount, Weaver rings and the same scope, I shot about 30" high at 30 yards but didn't have enough downwards elevation adjustment in the scope to get any closer than 6" high at 30 yards. I hope that Leapers will produce this mount with a variety elevation compensations to compliment the design. A recommendation would be in 6" increments. I know this would be challenging to keep the costs down, but I think they would still sell alot of them because people like myself would probably buy a full set of them in order to keep the scope running as close to optically centered as possible. Plus it would be alot of fun trying different combinations of scopes, rings, and pellets.

Things I would have changed:To the product it self nothing, needs to be included when you buy an RWS Rifle. What others should know:Before you switch out your existing scope and use this device, I strongly advice, if you have a Laser Scope to make sure it is sighted in correctly, it will make adjusting and sighting in your scope using this device very easy, if not get one and save your self a lot of time sighting in your scope.
Also sugggest that you buy a New Set of Leapers Scope Mounts, Leapers # LPS-RG18W-25L. These are Low Profile mounts and come with a Knub on the bottom of the mount that LOCKS into the Weaver Rail Slots of the New Scope Mount, also preventing the Scope from Shifting.
Do not be surprised if after mounting your scope on this New Mount, that you will have to Lower your adjusting knob to its lowest point, to start resighting in your scope. If you take your time and set this New Mount up correctly you will be very happy with the results, it will also help shooting at longer ranges, because it changes your elavation settings, but may give you a problem if trying to shoot at less then 20 yrds, do to your scope being bottomed out, to make up for shooting at the longer ranges. Does help with groups once you get use to using it. Who ever helped design this mount, did a great job.
