The Hunter Carbine is a short version of the TX200. The HC also shares the standard TX200 Mk III internals but externally looks the same as previous models. Because this is a carbine, the lever is shorter, making it heavier to cock, in addition to having a higher cocking effort than the standard TX200. Includes a Lothar Walther barrel.

Things I liked: Absolutely beautiful gun. Shoulders nicely. Great trigger.

Things I would have changed: Probably wouldn't change anything on the design but there are some minor details that just aren't right. (1). Rubber plug on the bottom side of the barrel is supposed to protect the barrel from the cocking arm when you put the arm back into the up position. Mine fell off within 50 shots. Will not go back in the hole. Very cheap piece of rubber that really doesn't fit properly. (2.) Tiny screws that hold the cocking guard in place came out within 100 shots. The guard slid down the cocking arm and turned slightly. One of the tiny screws was sticking out and slightly nicked the bottom of the barrel. Made me sick (3).The whole cocking arm has a lot of "slop" meaning it has movement from side to side at the top of the cocking stroke and also at the bottom. Simply put the cocking arm rattles back and forth badly when it's not in the locked position. By the way this gun is less than a week old.

What others should know: I don't mean to be too critical of this gun. I've had it less than a week and It is certainly a nice gun and shoots very well. However, when you pay 729 for an air gun you would expect it to have been inspected very closely. I am comparing this gun to a friend of mines TX 200 that is about 10 years old. The new gun is prettier but the older gun is much much tighter. The older gun cocks much more smoothly. That may change in time once I have some more rounds through it. I would not say that I'm totally disappointed in this gun but I expected more from the cocking mechanism. It just does not feel right to me and I cannot believe it has that much slop in it. I will say that dealing with PA has been a good experience so far. I ordered a BKL 1 piece mount that just flat will not work with any scope that the turret has any bottom on it. Rings are too low. Had to send back and order some taller rings. They were easy to work with. Will this gun stand the test of time? I really don't know

Things I liked: Outstanding accuracy. I've put a can of the Superpoint Extra (250), and half a box (250) of the Crosman Competition pellets through it since my purchase (2014). Once I found a scope mount with two anchor screws, it's been balls on accurate. Not a word from the neighbors about noise when cleaning up varmints (up to 50 lbs.). I haven't shot it without a dead rest very many times - it is quite heavy. Small game from the truck window at 50 yards without hearing protection (yep). The size fits well in a hard sided AR case. I love the no hassle nature of the spring loader/underlever. Ammo can be found on the cheap. It's a beautiful rifle. I'll be shooting this much more than almost any other rifle that I own.

Things I would have changed: The only thing that I would change would be a lower price :) However, this really is first class. I did change the stock lever grip for a brass model. I'd change the local laws about suppressors if all that they fit were airguns.

What others should know: I reserved a star on Overall and Value because I've only owned it for 6 months. It was an "investment" when compared to what I thought previously about pellet guns. If it lasts, and continues to shoot as well as it has from the box, I'll have no problem awarding another star.

  • Bruce from USA asked:

How much more difficult to cock is this gun as opposed to the TX200 Mk III?

    • Tom from USA asked:

I would like to know real world FPS in the AA tx200 HC. Is it a lot twangier than the mk111

      • Ronald from USA:

I wouldn't say mine is twangier but it's somewhat louder. There are several differences in my opinion. None of them really bad but the HC is harder to cock and makes more noise. That's for sure
