Reviews summary Norica Model 56 Basic
Things I liked:This is a serious rifle. I was looking for the lightest spring air rifle that was not also a bb gun and this is was my choice. I am very impressed. Norica did not scrimp on the quality and the 'wow factor' is not the number of features or the power but the amount of quality work packed in under 100$. This rifle reminds me (and shoots like) my old rim fire .22 Remington. Great for someone starting out and simple pleasure for an adult. Norica packed the rifle with a tin of pellets (screw top lid). Has an automatic safety that is unobtrusive and easy to get used to. Things I would have changed:I would put on a steel rear sight. Not as elegant as the fiber optic jewel, but rugged for rough use. What others should know:The fiber optic sights are elegant but fragile (well I dropped the rifle rather hard, thank you Pyramid for having the spare). I have no idea what they mean by 'vaporized beech'. I can say that the stock is gorgeous and stained a deep walnut. The spring makes a surprising amount of noise and it lets you know just what is doing the work. Came with open sights and a rail for attaching a scope. I did not find any adjustments on my trigger and although the trigger is a bit of a pull, I found it sure and not a distraction. The breech is relieved and pellets slip in easily without effort or damage to the pellet. The Model 56 is inexpensive, but it is not cheaply made. Comments
A highly respected air gun tuner told me that Norica is the highest quality Spanish air guns available.

California Things I liked:I like the fit and finish of this gun. The sights are good and I was on paper in the first shot. A couple of clicks later I was in the bullseye. Very easy to shoot with very little recoil. Small size will fit my grandson's frame pretty well. Two stage trigger is very long but for young shooter's, it may be best to let them know their finger is on the trigger. Second stage is well defined but a little strong. The trigger is adjustable and I will play with it more as my granson becomes more familiar with the gun. Things I would have changed:I would add a buttplate to this gun. Maybe a couple of shims for even smaller shooters. I may do this on my own. What others should know:I bought this gun to teach my 4 year old grandson to shoot. I was looking for a small gun to fit his small frame. We plan to shoot off a bench so the weight is not a problem. The gun is light but my grandson is a half-pint. I am very pleased with the gun and for the price, you get a nice shooter.

Things I would have changed:While the trigger is as good as it gets for 80 bucks it could use a little less creepage and weight. Not a complaint just a wish.
What others should know:Like I said this is a cool gun for the price! After putting about 100 pellets through it I noticed it was much smoother cocking and shooting. The cocking force was a little more than my 10 yo grandson could muster but he got through it after a few times and was shooting his heart out.
