Sumatra 2500 Carbine
Devastating, authoritative knockdown power! The Sumatra 2500 is an easy-to-cock, lever-action repeater. This precharged pneumatic (PCP) has two built-in chambers (190cc total) that hold high-pressure air (3,000 psi) from a scuba tank, hand pump or compressor.
It has a two-stage adjustable trigger. The sights are pretty unique, in that both the front and rear are adjustable. The front post can be adjusted for elevation by turning a small wheel under the post. The rear is a two-hole aperture that flips from a small to large hole and is adjustable for windage.
Accuracy is the name of the game when it comes to shooting, and the Sumatra 2500 excels in that area: 3/8" ctc at 30 yds. with Eun Jin pellets. To get the most from this airgun, you'll want to mount a scope on the 11mm dovetails. The finely rifled (and 10x1mm threaded) steel barrel (1:18 RH twist) is fed by a 6-shot cylinder that makes for quick follow-up shots. The cylinder makes it easy to use longer pellets and even mix-and-match different pellet lengths and types.
The adjustable power wheel has 13 settings, making this one of the most versatile powerhouses on the market! You'll get about 11 shots on high power and 18 on medium.
Includes probe with 1/8" BSPP male threads and 2 rotary clips. A hard Plano rifle case (PL1502-01) is strongly suggested!

Things I liked: Paid the 20 for $20 but instead of having them mount a scope had them check the rifle over very carefully. The rifle I got was perfect. I adjusted the trigger down to right at 2 lbs. and crisp. Put a UTG 6X Bug Buster Scope on it and started testing. Mine is .25 cal. and shoots its best on high power. Best pellets shooting off a tripod at 25 yds. were Benjamin dome 27.8 grain and Eujin 43.2 grain. 1/2" groups for six shots were easily obtained. Put an adapter on which changed the muzzle threads to 5/8-24 and mounted a AAC 300 WM rated can. Gun is definitely backyard friendly now. I also mounted a sling on it. Forget about pellets less than 25 grains, they wouldn't even stay on the target. For the money this is one the best deals out there for a hunting gun.
Things I would have changed: Change the scope base from 11mm to picatinney ,add good sling mounting studs to this gun and you have the perfect hunting gun.
What others should know: This gun is an air hog. With Hill MK 4 pump it takes 12 pumps per shot on full power. Two six round clips takes your air pressure down to 1/4 left in the green zone. The comments that you can cancel your gym membership if you use a hand pump are right on. The scope base on my rifle was a little bit oversize for the BKL rings I had and the mount had to be dressed down for the rings to work. It was so close I think other brands would probably fit fine. The sales and technical folks at Pyramyd Air were a pleasure to do business with. Couldn't ask for a more helpful group of people to deal with..
Things I liked: This gun is very well-balanced and easy to handle ,will make a great hunting rifle.fit and finish on this gun is top notch ,it has a beautiful Woodstock, and the Blueing is superb. My gun is a 22 caliber, and it shoots 3/16 inch Center to Center 6 shot groups at 25 yards with American Arms Diablo field heavy 18 grain pellets, and also with the jsb match Diablo 18.13 grain pellets with the power wheel set 1 notch above the low mark.
Things I would have changed: The trigger has a little bit of grittiness in the first stage. And I would make you second stage adjustable down to about 2 pounds. I would also outfitted with a foster type fitting.
What others should know: This gun is very loud and not suitable for backyard use in urban areas even on low power.
Things I liked: POWER! This carbine is a very good balance between portability and power in .25 caliber. It's loud but there are options for that. Mine likes the JSB heavies at full power. at lower powers it will shoot many pellets accurately. Simple, easy to operate no spring loaded magazines to mess with. Trigger is adjustable but if you lighten it too much the lever will tend to pop open during the shot. Just back it off a little.
Things I would have changed: Trigger is OK. Could be better but it's acceptable for hunting and that's what this gun is intended for.
What others should know: Great deal for the quality and power offered by this gun.
Pictures do not show an 11mm dovetail or any other means of mounting a scope. Is the dovetail or rail an extra?
How difficult is this to fill with a Benjamin hand pump
I have to say it would not be hard to fill, if you fill it (top it Off) from 2000 PSI to 3000 PSI about 100 pumps or so. It will give you a work out. But it can be done. Just dont expect to target shoot all day and keep pumping it up! I can get about 12 good High power shots before having to refill on my .25 cal.a .22 cal would give you approx double the shots if you dont crank the power all the way up!
The pic shows an adjustable comb/cheek rest Is this a mistake?
Looks like the picture has been updated they no longer come with a adjustable comb/cheek rest .
