What are Rifle Scopes?

How Rifle Scopes Work

Air Rifle Scopes

What makes a scope rated for air rifles? It is designed to handle the vibration and double recoil effect of a Springer. Spring piston and gas ram air rifles have recoil motions that push forward when you pull the trigger and release the piston, then back as the piston relaxes. This double recoil will play havoc with an optic that isn't designed to handle it. For this reason, we recommend never using a firearm scope on an air rifle. All of the scopes listed here can withstand the extra vibration and double recoil of a Springer.

Choosing the Right Scope

When selecting a scope, consider your rifle type, caliber, and how you plan to use it. Here's what to look for:

Compatibility - Choose a scope built for your platform. We offer air rifle scopes, rimfire scopes, and high-power optics for long-range and tactical shooting.
Recoil Rating - For spring-piston rifles, always choose air rifle scopes for springers. Standard scopes can fail under the unique recoil.
Magnification - Lower zoom (2--7x) is great for pesting or plinking. Higher zoom (up to 12x or more) helps with longer-range accuracy.
Reticle Type - Mil-dot, duplex, and illuminated reticles offer visibility and distance estimation for all lighting conditions.
