Things I liked:

i am thoroughly impressed with my fire201.. i could gush all day about it.. i lucked into it along with two career707s.. they are the most accurate shootin machine ive ever fired, but the 201 has the punch that id never thought possible with an air rifle.. with less than a full charge, this thing will blow a 77gr. pellet through two 2x4s layed together.. yes, i said "two" of them, and then keep going.. i havent tested it yet, but id be willing to wager that i could(with a scope) consistantly hit a target at 500 yards.. for the amount of power that it packs, my fire 201 is exceedingly light.. it is much lighter than its sister, the 707.. the fire 201(202) is ergonomic(not that its ever been a big selling point in guns), easy to handle, extremely solid and very well balanced.. shinsung did a marvelous job with these airguns.. they are well designed and well built for the serious shooter.. ive been told it also has the capability to fire a lead 9mm bullet, slug, or ball.. after you shoot a shinsung airgun, it would be my guess that you will never think the same about the words,"made in korea"..

Things I would have changed:

in my mind, the filler port could be better engineered, as i am constantly concerned about losing the cap in the field.. then, all it takes is one surly speck of dust to ruin your day, and your gun..

What others should know:

the pellets are a bit pricey from the sole maker of 9mm pellets, eun jin, but have you seen the price of ammo for firearms, lately?? no comparison.. those cowboys can have their gunpowder!!

Things I liked:

got the combo deal and found it to be sited right out of the box though it worked well with all the 9mm I tested the cheapest was the best (9mm pellets) hit hard punched 9 holes in an old frypan at 40 yards very cool, if its aimed right it his every time

Things I would have changed:

would like to see it blued not painted also would be great to have shot shels for it seen em on utube but really would like some factory versions sling mounts wouls also be nice

What others should know:

this thing dosent sound like a powder gun but it is loud (not a back yard plinker)

Things I liked:

What I like about the gun: Powerful!! My first shot was at a backstop consisting of two large 1/2“ thick plywood which was resting against my shed. Against the plywood I placed two 1X8” boards which leaned against each other. I would say that my 1X8’s were more like 1 and ¼ inches thick. I placed my target about in the middle of the outside 1X8. I figured 3 inches of wood was enough to stop an air rifle pellet. Wrong! After passing through all four boards, AND my steel shed, it buried itself inside the wooden arm of a futon I had in the shed. Later, I shot through a 4X6 in trying to find the gun’s limits. Actually that was not a good test as the 4X6 was very old and dry without much density. But still, pretty impressive to me. The sights are decent. And reloading is relatively quick with a large breach opening. The velocity for this 9 millimeter is an impressive 900 fps! It is accurate too! However I am not very accurate but I rested the gun on a telephone book and managed a 1 and ¾ inch group at about 20 yards for 6 shots. The power drops off rather quickly. I don’t have a chronograph but I would not hunt game after the sixth shot. I think that is very acceptable for a big bore gun. Also, I have never had an issue with leakage and I like the quality meter and power wheel. It is also very easy to fill up with a scuba tank.

Things I would have changed:

Things I had issues with: My rifle’s stock is plain without those dark verses light striations like what you would see on Indonesian walnut. It was light in color. The finish on the wood was good though. However, the black painted metal work around the cocking mechanism which had a relief of a pack of dogs attacking some pigs was under sprayed on one side of the rifle. This area is just below the breach. It looks like cheep pot metal and what a cheesy scene! The cocking lever is extremely hard to cock!. It needs more leverage. It is too small to get more that one finger on it and my index finger was aching after a several shots. I placed a scope on the rail but I was not able to sight the scope in. Seams like the dove tails on the scope rail were sloping downward. I elevated the vertical reticule on the scope all the way up but it still shot 3 feet below the target at its highest setting. I will have to try another scope to find out if it is the scope is causing the problem and not the rail. This gun is LOUD! I honestly feel like it is as loud as a 22 firearm. I would like to buy a silencer or make one for this gun. I’m not going to say much about looks. You can see the gun and make your own decision. I like the style of the Evanix better. I also own a EUN JIN Sumatra in 25 cal. It is a similar style but the fit and finish is better. The wood on my Sumatra looks better too.

What others should know:

In all, the positives out way my negative impressions. What I look for in an air rifle is Power, accuracy, reliability, value, and quality. This rifle more or less provides all those attributes. I would like to remedy the scope issue I am having so any input would be appreciated.
